I walked in and was a bit confused about the setup. Do I sit down? Do I order at the counter? Do I wait to be seated? I ended up going up to the cash register and someone finally told me to choose a seat. I continued to sit there for a while until same one came by to give me a menu (no water). I sat for literally for what seem to be 15-20 minutes and no one came by to take my order. The place was literally empty during late dinner hours. I walked out like no one even saw me.At this rate, there will be a new restaurant replacing this one in no time. One of those establishments with a great idea but poor execution. It was a sad experience, I was excited to try too.

Delicious food and fun interior decorations! Went for dinner and had great service. Cash tips preferred. One of my new favorite Mexican restaurants in Durham.

This place is so vibrant and beautifully decorated inside! You order at the counter and they give you a number and bring the food to your table. All of the food was great and looked so pretty when it was served! The horchata was also tasty! There's not really any options on the menu for kids, so we spent quite a bit of money on just a basic bean and cheese burrito. So if you have a picky child just be aware!

The interior of the restaurant is beautiful. Very clean and colorful. We ordered the syeak fajita nachos. Not only was it delicious, but we shared one order and had leftovers. The mango margarita and strawberry margaritas were on flique.

Four Stars because I'm excited this place is so close to home, and I feel it has a lot of potential.I went by a few weeks ago, because they advertised being open 24 hours... my wife and I, and visiting couple pulled in around 11pm on a Saturday night and they literally turned the lights out on us... we had to settle for late night McD's.I had to give them a shot... and I must say, its pretty solid. I started out with a large Margarita, which was good, followed that up with a Pastor (5/5 stars), chicken (3/5 stars) and steak (4/5 stars) street tacos... granted, I didn't add much lime to them and only a little green salsa (which had a nice kick). I was a little disappointed there were no chips and salsa offered, but I was alone and at the bar... I saw that another couple was brought the Mexican staple when they sat down. I will just ask next time. The manager (?), suggested the Birria tacos w/ cheese, and because I wanted more, I obliged... I WILL BE BACK FOR MORE!!! They were absolutely delicious! My only critique was that they did not come with rice/beans/sides of any sort, so I will have to adjust to make sure I get some of those things next time. Just to complete the experience, I had to ask about dessert... they mentioned chocolate cake, cheesecake and churros... all seemed too filling, considering I just ate SIX good tacos. He then mentioned their fruit popsicles which they had 10+ flavors, maybe 20+... I saw butter pecan and leaped. It was pretty good too!Overall, the samplings were good, the vibe was a little strange, but the place hasn't been open long and probably needs some exposure. Looking forward to the next visit and seeing what else they have!

Don't come here if you want your food fresh and in a timely manner. She forgot my order and then acted like she didn't understand English even though she had just taken the order and was speaking English. At the end of the day we all make mistakes but at least just admit, apologize, and make it right. At the food was not even good. I say if your drunk and desperate for food and the line for cookout or Waffle House is too long for sure a last resort type stop.

Got to try this new spot that opened up close to the house last weekend. So excited to hear about a new spot serving Birria and they are open 24 hours!!???? Both me and the Fiancée of course had the Birria Tacos. They were good, but definitely could have had a bit more flavor. We were able to order queso and guacamole even though it wasn't offered on the menu. Queso was excellent and guacamole was nice. My takeaways from our visit:1. They have an Extensive Menu. There is definitely something on there for everyone. 2. Service was really great and quick. Manager made sure we were able to order everything we were looking for even if not on the menu. 3. Food is a bit pricey so keep that in mind. It's also a la carte. Would have been nice to have some rice and beans part of the meal along with our food. 4. Vibe was nice and chill and the drinks looked good!

Returned a few months later and while it's nice they're open later now (5a), I haven't seen many more changes. Their prices are steep (a virgin mojito was only $1 less than the regular) and often times they're out of certain spirits. The floor felt fairly slippery the last time, like the soap wasn't fully washed off. Also, unfortunately, there is a language barrier on both ends so it makes it difficult to communicate our needs. They're not exactly a restaurant, moreso a cantina as advertised so the service is not what you'd expect. You have to order and ask for everything. before sitting down. Nonetheless, i tried the birria ramen this time and it was delicious, but everything in the menu is the same price (12.88-15.88).

Second times a charm. First visit wasn't the best but they sure made up for it. Service was so much better this time around. Food got delivered to the table quick! We had the pina and melon agua frescas to drink. Such great fruit flavor. Dinner consisted of a birria burrito. Absolutely loaded with flavorful birria. The burrito was huge! The taco madre was incredible. Carne asada Burrito bowl was way bigger than expected. Great flavor as well. This little gem has fun decor. Good Mexican music playing. Mexicali is definitely catching its groove. They are open 24hrs so worth a late night trip out for some tasty food! Go check em out!

We were greeted as soon as we walked in and the hostess waited very patiently as we reviewed the menu - I went with the flautas($12.88) and my partner got the birria quesadilla($14.88). My meal did not come with beans and I really wanted some refried beans, which I ordered as a side. Ordering the beans was a challenge because they initially rang up as pinto beans added to the flautas but eventually were rang up as a separate order of frijoles, which they clarified were exactly what I wanted. I also ordered a liter of Jamaica Agua Fresca ($5.88) and wow was it good and a huge amount, so happy I went with the liter size! We clarified that the meal came with chips and salsa, which it did and the chips and salsa came out as soon as we sat down and were perfect! Our meals came out quickly and were huge portions - I definitely recommend dining in for the whole experience. The restaurant itself is very well decorated, with telenovelas playing on the tvs. We can't wait to come back! Areas for improvement? The menu could be lis out a little better and there could be a "side order" menu for people complaining about anything that doesn't come with rice and beans. We ordered a side of beans for 2.89 and it was an enormous portion and delicious. There was also a credit card surcharge that would've been good to know about beforehand (it was something like a buck fifty, nothing to be upset about).
