Food Truck Time: Mesas at Vicious FishesWe saw that Mesas was nearby so we headed over to Vicious Fishes in Apex to give this food truck a try. My husband and I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries, tacos and plantains. The tacos were just okay, I would recommend ordering something else. But, the rest of the food was good. The overall experience was more of a 2.5 star rating since the food was a tad greasy and we didn't feel the best afterwards.

I have never had any mesas before but let me tell you they are good!!!The Papusas were okay? But the mesas have so much flavor they would make anything taste not as good as them. Great food truck with options for everyone!

The Triangle constantly surprises me with the variations in food truck foods. There may be a multiple trucks serving the same cuisines, but each seems to have its own specialty.I came across Mesas at a local brewery and was immediately intrigued by the menu. Promoting itself as a Salvadorean food truck but with a Southern twist, the focus was on mesas, pupusas, and, as expected, fried plantains. The namesake mesas: Can't say I've tried these before -- at least locally -- and so I went with them. The three "deep-fried" corn tortillas were not quite what I was expecting -- but in a good way. About the thickness of, but smaller than, an english muffin-half, they were topped with beef, beans, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and cheese. After the first bite, I realized I've been missing these. The tortilla had a slightly crunchy texture on the outside, and a softness in the center. In other words, they're what you'd expect of mesas. The pupusas, mesas, and tacos are all gluten free and because they appear to be the main specialties, they should always be available. The southern twist to the choices, is evident in the pulled pork sandwich that is seasoned with some traditional salvadoran spices. Although I didn't try it, the person I was with did, and he thought it was an interesting spin, but not particularly memorable. I might have to try it myself anyway, just in case.

I can't write enough positive feedback about Mesas! The food is always so fresh and delicious (my absolute favorite are the zucchini and cheese pupusas!!), and the service is friendly and wonderful. I always get super excited when I see them outside of Bull City Ciderworks because I know that I'm about to have some DELICIOUS food and see friendly faces :)

This was my first time having Mesas food truck and it was "fire, flames, and explosions" of deliciousness. Oh-muh-gud! I was half way though my flight from Bullcity Ciderworks & grabbed food. PERFECT COMBO! That chicken in the quesadilla is so juicy & well seasoned. I should've gotten a to go meal because once I got in the car I demolished the other half. I got yuca for the first time. I didn't think to ask what it was because I didn't want plantains. I should've tried the plantains because it was like eating fries. I dipped them in the sauce they had for the quesadillas and it was a perfect balance. The fries (papas locas) were a little different. I'm not a fan of Mayo unless it's lightly spread on a bun but having it in a different way was a new experience. Not sure that I'd get them again but it was still tasty. The pupusas and chicken mesas are next the next time in an area where they are.

My wife and I just ordered chicken tacos, pork tacos, and yuca fries. Absolutely delicious! The tacos were very good but the sauces really sent them over the top. The combination of black beans with a spicy sauce was great. We had never had yuca fries but we loved them. We highly recommend this food.
