Gosan Poke & Roll

"Although Gosan is priced higher than other poke spots, the fish and marinades have greater quality. The menu consists of sashimi, rolls, and poke bowls. There are preselected combinations but I always enjoyed making my own. The staff have always been kind and the scoops are generous. =POKE=There were standard bases of white rice, brown rice and salad. Besides the plain versions, the fish came with either a mayo, sweet or spicy marinade. The hot spicy albacore and tuna had a red chili forward profile that brought in the heat. Hawaiian tuna was a mixture of salty and sweet. The creamy wasabi tuna was mayo forward and surprisingly sweet, not my favorite as the wasabi fails to stand out. The scallops are my personal favorite as these plump mollusks soak up the sweet creamy sauce well. I was happy to see a decent selection of vegetables and fruits. Seaweed salad and imitation crab weren't priced extra. Avocado cost more to add on. Although there are sauces available, I wouldn't recommend adding on more given the high liquid content and flavorful marinades already. The sauces primarily had a soy or sriracha base. Very fast service and a perfect spot for lunch or dinner. Seafood has always been fresh and I love the ingenuity of the marinades."

"These folks are so nice! They love our daughters too which is fun to watch. This fast casual spot is very inviting and family friendly. Ordering is easy to do and the food comes out pretty quick, especially the sushi. We had shrimp and veggie tempura, poke bowl, sushi burrito and a Las Vegas roll. Everything was amazing. I will definitely be back to try other delicious menu options."

"My little girls and I stopped by to try Koibito Poke today. Anthony greeted us and helped me pick out my poke bowl ingredients. We bought one medium bowl and one mochi. Everything was delicious. My girls wolfed down the poke bowl. My 6 year old daughter is a crab salad critic and she rates this place haha Anthony was very attentive, friendly and provided excellent customer service. He's an asset to this venue! We'll be back! Highly recommend!"

Large bowl comes with 4 scoops of protein and unlimited toppings. Avocado is $1 extra, pretty typical of all poke spots. Comes with a nice cup of miso soup- bonus!"

"I mean... it was just okay. I was bummed because I wanted to walk in here and really love it! The girl behind the counter was dry, no enthusiasm whatsoever. When I asked about how the hot Cheetos roll were. She looked at me with a blah face and said "I don't know. I don't eat hot cheetos." A good host would say, not sure but it's a big hit here... or something. I guess I was just expecting much. Honestly, it's just okay to me. It's a hole in the wall type of location. Definitely nothing fancy. Just a place to pick up food from. I most likely will not be back just because I feel I can spend $60 at a better location with a bit more ambiance but it was worth the try... definitely not what our fellow yelpers reviewed though. 5 star? I'd say no"

"I enjoy going to the old town Scottsdale location. But, this location seemed to skimp more of the toppings. I asked for extra rice and was only given a tiny bit more. My non-fish eating, friend really enjoyed the fresh grilled teriyaki chicken breast on rice bowl for $10. It was his first time at a poke restaurant, but loves Panda Express and Chinese food. The interior is basic fast casual dining with TVs playing fail videos."

"As someone who lived right next to the ocean for 5 years, I can be harsh on fish quality here in the desert. Lomi Poki is the BEST Poki I've had in the entire state of Arizona. Yeah, I said it. It's true.We got takeout tonight and ordered online not knowing what to expect but the quality and fresh ingredients absolutely blew me away. The fish was phenomenal and did not disappoint. My favorite thing about this place was the myriad of toppings, protein, and sauce options. It was the perfect amount of food for me and the prices seemed totally reasonable given the cost of fish these days. When picking up, the process was easy and the staff was kind & efficient. I will definitely be going back...repeatedly. And I will be trying new things every time since they have the variety for that! Sooo tasty."

"My friend who loves ramen decided we needed to try this place. After eating there for the first time, I would say it is pretty average as far as ramen places go. The service was a little...well let's just say I think he was new to serving. He had to be reminded to get things a few times. And he was the only one serving, although there were only a half dozen tables filled. He tried hard. I'll give him that.We all got ramen, so I don't know how their poke is. The ramen was average. I ordered the spicy miso ramen and it was at a spice level of 1 (where's the heat!) on my spice scale. Very disappointing. It was good traditional ramen, but nothing special. We probably won't come back here because there are a few other ramen places that are better. Good food. Just not great."

"Clean shop and friendly owner! Stopped by here for the first time and got a small poke bowl (includes two scoops of protein). The fish seemed fresh and there were plenty of topping options. Majority of the toppings are similar to other poke places, but I did notice they have shaved brussels sprouts, which is something you don't typically see. My poke bowl breakdown:- Base: Combo (rice + greens)- Protein: 1 scoop salmon, 1 scoop Hawaiian tuna- Sauce: Koibito House + Citrus Ponzu- Toppings: edamame, cucumber, green onion, ginger, masago, cilantro, seaweed salad, crab mix- Dry toppings: furikake, fried onionsI got a small bowl, which looked pretty small at first, but once you eat everything, it's actually very filling! Will be back :)"

"Arizona: A wonderful landlocked state known for sushi and Hawaiian food.Isn't that what you were thinking? ;)Pacific Rim & Sushi started off as a food truck and has since moved into this great brick and mortar. The chef grew up on the island of Kauai, so hey, that has to count for something, right?On the first visit, we ordered the $16 Loco Moco and $15 Chicken Katsu. The loco moco was salty, but the chicken katsu was really juicy. Both had portion sizes that were more than generous. The mac salad isn't my favorite, and if you know me, I'm one to usually get no rice and all mac salad, but here, I say keep the rice! It helps cut the sodium level of the brown gravy on the loco moco.What a great spot and some good eats. I'll be back again to try more of the menu."

"Pokiluv is a really cool new Tempe restaurant in the office center just across the bridge over the Salt River on the northside. It has a nice upscale vibe, cool furniture(sort of a retro Jetsons homage), a nice beer wine bar with a great sushi bowl buffet. I loaded my custom bowl with ahi & marinated tuna, salmon, crab, corn, avocado, brown rice with wasabi royu sauce. Unlike many poke places my bowl had a generous amount of proteins for under $15 is a great deal for any quality poke bowl place(and I've been to quite a few in the California meccas of LA & San Diego). Service was friendly, prompt and knowledgeable from GM Andy-5 stars.My shrimp tempura on the side was hot & delicious.Highly recommended best Poke Bowl I've had in Tempe AZ in 2022."

"Dropped by to try a poke bowl here this morning. Store was clean and organized. Ample parking. Greeted immediately by staff member. He was friendly and was generous on servings which I appreciated. I ordered a two protein poke bowl and it was delicious. Taking a star off due to the flimsy container and avocado at the bar looking like it's seen better days (esp for 10:45am). I would come here again!"
