"I planned my bestie's bachelorette in Scottsdale and dinner at Olive & Ivy was one of everyone's favorite meals of the trip! It was super easy to call and make a reservation for 10 girls on a Saturday night. It was nice that, unlike some other Scottsdale restaurants, there was no food & bev minimum to hit since our party was so large. We ordered a bunch of items to share, and loved all of them! This was a perfect order for us because we had minimal leftovers too. :)- 2 black truffle arancini- 2 crispy brussel sprouts- 2 beet salads- pesto chicken flatbread- white truffle prosciutto flatbread- 2 Japanese sweet potato- 2 rock shrimp tagliatelle- 2 sea scallopsMost of us also had two rounds of drinks as well and the final dinner price was suuuper reasonable, I believe around $65 per person! Would love to come back if i'm ever in Scottsdale!"
"Great place to have some delicious food, and then shop for some goodies to bring home. Had a mezze sampler, and beef shwarma. Mezze included generous portions of bannaganoush, hummus, dolmathes and the white sauce like tzatziki. Plenty of pita bread to scoop with.My schwarma was delicious, and ample. Had to share the mezze plate, can't eat that much anymore.Counter order, friendly guys, they bring to the table, in our case, quickly. The store is so stocked with everything one needs to cook middle eastern at home. Clean store. Will be returning."

"This place was really good. Loved my pita sandwich. Next time I'm getting hummus on the side to add to it. The spicy hummus was my favorite. We also got falafels that were fresh and delicious. The chicken was okay but I prefer the gyro meat and kabob! They were getting pretty busy when we were there too."
"Best Mediterranean spot in the area? I think so!Hummus Xpress is one of my new favorite food spots for so many reasons. 1. Quality. Oh my. The gyros and beef are out of this world. Tender, juicy, scrumptious. But what about the sides? Also delicious. So homey, fresh, and tasty. And the sauces? Yup, they also are on-point. Authentic and delectable. 2. Quantity: Talk about a great deal! You get a lot of protein, sides, sauces, and toppings at a killer price with the Plate option. As someone who can put down a lot of food, I appreciate how much bang you get for your buck here. 3. Service. The owner (or who I believe was the owner) is so genuine, friendly, and caring. And with the build-your-own, assembly-style setup, you get your meal right away!If I lived in Tempe, then I'd come here every single week. So happy that my wife and I found this spot!"
"Virtu was on my list for so long that I had no idea what to expect when we finally went this past weekend. Unlike the rest of Old Town, parking was easy and we got a spot right in front of the restaurant. We were seated on the patio and I think this is the way to go here. I never went inside but every time a door opened, it seemed very loud. Plus, the patio is adorable and romantic. We did the prix fixe tasting menu and I definitely recommend it. The amuse was a cannellini bean soup that was an impressive start. My salmon crudo was fantastic and a bigger portion than I was expecting. The lemon sorbet palate cleaner was just perfect. My sea bass was perfectly prepared and expertly seasoned. Husband was equally pleased with his duck. We ordered the mesquite noodles outside of our tasting menu choices because we were curious and I'm glad we did - it was interesting and yummy. Desserts were also a standout.Service was pretty relaxed and we started to get worried about getting out in time to make an 8 pm show but we let our server know and they made sure to get us out of there on time.We will definitely return."
"Hubs and I worked up an appetite after watching a movie nearby. We decided to check out Phoenicia Cafe. We were greeted and seated right away. The space itself is quite spacious and bright, with plenty of available seating. We ordered the following:Arabic coffee $4.99Shrimp ghallaba $18.99Gyros pita $10.99Baklava $2.99The coffee was fantastic. It was strong and unique. I really liked it. My entrée was the shrimp ghallaba which had shrimp, peppers, onions, tomatoes, carrots and rice and hummus. It was flavorful. The portion was quite generous, and I had to take some of it to-go. Hubs had the gyro and he said it was okay. Before leaving, I just had to try the baklava - we ordered it to-go and proceeded to eat it in the car on the way home. It was delicious! In fact, we wished we had ordered two!"
"You have to try this place to believe it.Family owned and operated , great local restaurant that serves the freshest and tastiest shawarmas. They also have a cute patio.Service is warm and friendly.Love the gyros, souvlaki, Baba ganoush, Greek fries.I'm a fan of the secret shawarma sauce and tzatziki All the dips are full of flavor.Don't forget to grab some baklava for dessert.Cheers!"
"I went with the gyro and it was fantastic. The meat was flavorful and moist. The pita bread and sauce were very flavorful as well. My table was a little dirty from the previous guest so hopefully they can check the dining area more frequently in the future."
"Greek salads & gyros are our favorite here! Authentic Greek food. So yummy! Only complaint is you get a very small container of dressing for a large salad and to get a second small container, are $1 each. A little high for such a small amount. However it won't stop us from going back!!"
"We are staying at the Royal Palms hotel over the holiday as our grandkids are here visiting and we have had the opportunity to have breakfast here during our stay. We are our daughters guest of honor as a globalist, so breakfast is included each day.I have had both the avocado toast and the spinach and sun-dried tomato tomato quiche and they are beyond fantastic. No boring breakfast foods here. My husband has had two egg breakfast and this morning he had the eggs Benedict And both were fantastic. Their potatoes are absolutely perfect crisp on the outside and creamy on the inside. The service is impeccable, your coffee cup will never be empty and it is a peaceful ambience early in the morning. They do bring you a Nutella filled beignet, little mini ones to have with your coffee. How special is that?Highly recommend, especially if you have benefits, as it is quite pricey, if you do not!"
"We ate here the first night in the area. We had the basic gyros and the baklava. The gyros were priced similarly to most Greek restaurants. The size of the gyros was large. Definitely got our money's worth. The staff was ver personable. The restaurant is decorated in a modern vacation-like motif. Very clean. The baklava was decent. I'm not a connoisseur of baklava. We are in the area for the winter. We plan on visiting again soon."

Took my husband's parents here while they are visiting for the holiday weekend. We got reservations for 5:15 and got seated out on the patio by the water. It was beautiful and nice in the shade of the building with the misters keeping it cool too.Hubby's mom got the watermelon spritz and she really enjoyed it saying it was light and refreshing and not too strong. She ordered the beet salad and the artichoke hearts (without the chili flakes), the guys both got the veal & spinach ravioli, and I got the Mediterranean salad. The beet salad was light yet filling, and the flavors complimented each other with the bitterness of the arugula, the saltiness of the cheese, and the sweetness of the beets. The artichoke hearts were a hit with the 24hr marinating and the flavors of the remoulade, arugula, and cheese. The guys really enjoyed the ravioli. The pockets were filled with veal so you got a decent amount in each bite. The Med salad was filling and delicious. The couscous pearls and toasted almonds added a nice texture and flavor profile to the greens, and everything was fresh and flavorful. The zesty & aromatic oregano vinaigrette brought it all together.Hubby ordered the Spanish Creme Brulee and his mom ordered the butterscotch cake. Our server did a great job describing the dishes and desserts and was patient as we tried to decide what to order. She was friendly and kept our waters full and table bussed.

Ordered pick up via DoorDash and food was ready at the expected time! Located in a small plaza and is split between a market and restaurant in the same space. Very casual and low key. Friendly service.Got the kabab combo and the meats were all tender and great. Some pieces of chicken were dry but others good. Big portion for 1 so could be 1.5 or 2 meals for some. Rice was nice and fluffy. Wish pita was thicker and softer. Arabic salad and hummus were delicious.Good option if you're nearby. Not my fave for middle eastern food in town but close second!

Really clean, open, and bright atmosphere with very friendly staff. I ordered the build your own plate, shawarma(chicken),steak, baba ghanoush, and spicy humus. Paid $23 All of it was very good! The baba ghanoush has a strong smoky flavor to it, which I love but might not be for everyone. The spicy humus is really tasty, not spicy at all though. Love the shawarma and steak! The pita is also really soft and has a solid flavor you would expect. Really great spot for a more healthy quick option. Just feel like it's a tad on the expensive side.

Hummus Xpress pitas are the best I've ever had! They're big, but fluffy and the perfect vehicle to load up all your toppings on. And there are SO many different toppings. And so many of those are vegan which I really appreciate! I'm also super picky about falafel and I love theirs. The staff was very nice and helpful and the restaurant is clean. Highly recommend!

Virtù Honest Craft was recommended to me by a co-worker. I arrived shortly after they opened and sat at the bar drinking in all the sights and sounds. I thought it was a very quaint, peaceful ambiance. The food was absolutely amazing. I ordered this lovely pasta dish that was surprisingly flavorful and light. It had this pesto cream sauce that defied expectation. It was glorious. The cocktails were amazing! The Ice Queen was delicious - bright, tantalizing, and frothy. It was a cocktail I could have drunk forever. One thing I felt uncertain with was the service. There was a couple sitting at the bar when I entered who the bartender was cheerily talking to whereas with me all joy drained from his face every time he talked with me. After the couple left I mentioned how I never had Amaro before as I was considering ordering one for a digestif. The bartender initially gave no recommendations and was largely dismissive saying it wasn't for everyone. Figuring he just wasn't wanting anything to do with me I closed my tab and then that's when he gave me a small tasting of Amaro.Maybe I just misread the bartender but I was quite unsure. I am grateful I went, but not sure I'd return.

Our neighbors recently introduced us to Phoenicia Cafe, and it has quickly become one of our favorite restaurants!! The space itself is small, but there is a variety of seating inside, as well as a few small tables outside. Service has been excellent both times we have dined in. We started with the hummus and pita for an appetizer - it's so yummy!! We usually end up taking some home with us. The small portion is definitely enough for 2-4 people. For this trip, we dined in on a Saturday evening. My husband and I split the Greek fries - gyro meat, fries, onions, tomatoes, feta, and tzatziki. They are AMAZING. We love them. It was plenty of enough food for us to split. We did, of course, buy some baklava for us to take home too!!I'm not sure if I'll try something new on the menu next time we come in, or if I'll stick with the Greek fries because of how much I love them!!

This remains a hidden gem of Chandler for me as the food is ALWAYS solid, customer service is great, and if it's not so hot, the patio is the ideal spot to enjoy your lunch. Always look at the specials as they offer a nice twist. This time around it was lamp chops so a few of us jumped on them. They were excellent & the portions didn't disappoint. Good food, another great experience, and will continue to return.

"We came to Flint to celebrate our anniversary. I'd marked this on my Open Table reservation and I was super impressed: the restaurant reached out to me ahead of time to ask how many years we'd be celebrating. They made a big deal out of congratulating us repeatedly, offering us free champagne, dessert etc. They even had a sweet card on the table for us. It was all very considerate of them and very much appreciated. My husband and I were thinking the same thing tonight: salad and a kebab. He ordered the Flint Chopped Salad and Honey-Harissa Chicken Kebab. I had the Little Gem Caesar Salad and Filet Mignon Kebab. My salad was underwhelming. It had a lot of bitter lettuce, the breadcrumbs were tiny so you couldn't really taste them, and the cheese was almost nonexistent. I felt pretty let down by that, but the Filet Kebab made up for it. The meat was three large, delectable chunks of prime beef. They were cooked perfectly and very flavorful. Our server had suggested putting the very pungent sauce on the side which was a great call. That way you could control how much you want to dip. Speaking of our server, JP was so wonderful. He approached us with a huge, welcoming smile and could not have been any sweeter all night. He gave us great suggestions and of course, offered the freebies for our anniversary. We enjoyed the cheesecake for dessert and then JP wished us many more happy years together. We appreciated the excellent service here."
"Great food.Service is very good!Ambiance is good, close small indoors seating but nice, great outdoor dining! The future of parking is questionable with apartments opening across the street.I always enjoy!!!!"
"I eat here quite a bit with both family and colleagues. Nice casual atmosphere with good food and outdoor seating when the weather is right. The Avgolemono soup is fabulous. I'm trying to figure out how to replicate it at home because I love it. So bright and delicious. They also have a good selection of salads, bowls and classic Greek fare. The flaming cheese is fun and delicious as is the baklava cheesecake. Yum!I've always had good service and good experiences."
"On New York Times 50 best restaurant list! Need I say more? Set up is walk up and take away. No tables inside. Parking is limited in front but big lot in the back. We only tried their beef barg this time but already planning on our next visit. It came with rice, grilled tomatoes and jalapeños and salad. Everything was perfectly delicious but what stood out was the quality of the meat. Very tender and juicy; we didn't even need a knife to cut it. Enjoy; we sure did. Highly highly recommend!!"
"Definitely a hidden gem! I actually peaked into the front of this place once before and thought it was just a store with decorations. I later found it in a search and wanted to check it out because of the extensive menu. So happy I tried it! The menu is HUGE! Seafood and pastas and meats and salads (19 different ones!) and pitas (25 different kinds!) and more. They also have an extensive wine and beer collection. It was totally empty when we went in on a Tuesday at 5:30. Both of our dishes were super good. Really amazing flavors and fresh. The Salmon La Scala had a great dill flavor and the Lemon Cilantro Linguini was soo lemony, just like I like it! I will definitely be going back to try more dishes!!"
"The prices have gone up as they have with most places. The fresh juice is now nearly $10 for a cup, which is a bummer because it was so good but I am NOT paying that kind of money for something I'm going to drink in a matter of minutes - my frugal self just cannot justify it. The food is still great despite the cost of inflation. I tried the garlic whip dressing this time and my goodness was it delicious with a very unique taste."
"Absolutely delicious! Great food, quality and quantity. This family owned business goes back to 2005, the place is clean and looks newly renovated. The owner is at the restaurant to ensure quality and the best customer service. He is so friendly and enjoys a good conversation. We ordered the meal for 2 to go. It comes with all of the traditional favorites. I added gyro meat because I personally like it the best. If you are looking for some authentic Greek food, try this local gem."
"Came in to this place for lunch and work- which was great because they had wifi. The place itself is decorated with middle eastern vibes/modern- cute. The place wasn't super busy and the service by the man at the front was kind and tentative. I ordered a platter to try a couple of things and I was very happy with it. The meat was cooked just right- not over done or anything"
"Love the Greek food at this restaurant! The gyros are cooked perfectly. Nice and thin and a little crispy on the edges. Can't wait to go back.!"
"I've eaten inside Athena Pita 4 times so far, always combo #1 of gyro, fries, and a drink. Have zero complaints. The counter staff is always friendly and speedy. The food comes out hot and tasty. Their fries are to die for- so crispy!Seems like the poor reviews are coming from folks who used delivery services. Just go and eat there! This type of food doesn't travel well."
"Okay this review update is to help my future self! Yes we conquered yet again. We are that crazy to drive all the way from Surprise to get a salad from here! One of mine and my mom's favorite places to go!Customer service was awesome once again. You can see they really try hard. We realized after this second visit it is their sweet tasting balsamic vinegar dressing that makes their salads the bomb! So, note to self: arugula salad with balsamic dressing for me, for mom: cobb salad minus the corn and also balsamic dressing! It was funny to see as we too joined in on the adventure with many others picking up salads on how to get our salads by dropping one of us off at the door and driving around the block for a quick swoop to save $4.00 on parking for a well worth it salad. I don't mind at all, but my mom just can't get past it. Many food service drivers were parking right in front under the no stopping here sign. Haha I picked up my mom playing Judas Priest (Breaking the law). If this place ever has issues with foot traffic, do not close just relocate!"
"Pretty good. Healthy and you get massive portions. Just didn't love the vibe inside. May or may not be back"
"Exactly the kind of spot I would frequent at least 2-3 times a week. It seems like this place is family-owned as well. The quality of the meat in their Gyro Entree was 10/10. Their pita bread and french fries were also very delicious, my toddler loved them.Hummus was also top quality.Overall, the pricing and quality of food here is amazing (especially during these tough times)."
"This is a DIVE, only one table outside, wild dogs running around and a drive through liquor store next door, can't get any more "whole in the wall" than this. The food is great so don't be intimidated by the location of this place. Everything is fresh and made to order. The gyro plate is outstanding.Parking may be tricky but again the food is great."
"In Tempe for my first time, for work. Came here for lunch. The boss found it doing recon before we came out and suggested it. I was looking for something light but filling and good and I love me some Mediterranean so this seemed like the place. I'll start but saying I was pleasantly surprised when I saw they offered a bowl for $12. In the end I did added feta for +$2 but in the end, well worth it. I got the chicken gyro with salad base and tiziki. OMG!! This bowl was bomb! It was so delicious. Every bite was packed with flavor. The chicken gyro was so tasty I would 100% get it again!Decent amount of seating inside. Street parking is what you get here so could be hit or miss."
"I wish I had taken a photo before I tore into this amazing meal. My husband and daughter got beef and chicken shawarma. They were both very delicious. I got the beef shawarma plate, which was a huge portion and very delicious. I prefer this place over any of the chain restaurants. The meat was seasoned to perfection, and the hummus changed me. I will never eat store bought again! We will certainly be back."
"Located in downtown Tempe is this Middle Eastern restaurant serving Halal Yemeni food. I have a big appreciation for their culture. We came during Ramadan week... and even at midnight this place stays open till 4am. Surprisingly there was people coming for pick up and people still feasting at the midnight hour. This place is a hole in the wall, that needs a little more tender love and care. At night time the parking in the back was a lil sketch but we were not deterred. They have outdoor seating with lighting. Inside the building, upon going in they have traditional seating similarly like a tea room with seated cushion on the floor and mini tables. Then to the main dining area are booths and a bar with classic candies in the front fridge. I saw there was a buffet line, so I would love to come next time during the time they serve buffet. We were greeted with the best service and great hospitality, with the host showing us the menu and explaining recommendations. We sat at a table that was a little wobbly so then we moved to the booth that had me sinking into my seat. But we found a table that was just right for us. You have to go to the register and order and then seat yourself. We chose to eat the Mathbi Meat with grilled lamb with the mixed appetizer that had fattoush, tabouleh, baba ganoush, and hummus. Everything came fresh to order and for a table for two, we shared our food with the portion just perfect. We were impressed with everything to be so delicious. The lamb was tender and the rice complemented the dish. The naan with the appetizer dishes married well with our entree. I was so impressed. I loved the tabouleh the most because it was so fresh. For dessert we tried the massoub. I'd recommend this for breakfast because it was like eating roasted banana with an oatmeal consistency of bread, with some tart cream and sesame seeds. Finalizing my meal, I kept going back and forth to grab the complimentary tea at table to the back corner. The cinnamon warmth flavor aided my digestion. I loved it so much! There is no doubt we will return if I feel like being a night owl out in town.. Our food experience was top notch, just recommend that the place could use a little more cleaning, but overall their food is a winner especially for the cost."
"WOW! Talk about perfect hole in the wall, mom & pop shop, surprised at how good this spot hits - all perfectly defining Greka Pita! My husband and I wanted to get lunch and he recommended this location. My immediate thought, Greek restaurant with Asian options, you sure? I only say this because I think to master or perfect a restaurant, having several different ethnic courses is hard to do, especially with these two cultures. This isn't modern spin or mix either...Although I had hesitancy, man did I underestimate this place! Wow, wow, wow! The service, the portion, the flavor and the freshness all 5 stars! We were promptly greeted when we came in, the man that took our order was very polite, professional and friendly, and he showed genuine interest and appreciation that we were there. Although this isn't your typical restaurant with a server expected to deliver your food and check on you, he did this several times. It was such a pleasant surprise which just goes to show the appreciation and attention to their customers. The food blew my mind. The portion size was perfect and everything was so fresh - no grease! It was full of flavor and I couldn't be more satisfied. I can't get over how poorly I judged this location like a book by its cover. Don't make the same mistake I did. Go visit Greka Pita - you won't be disappointed. I can't wait to go again. Very happy with my experience."
"Wow! I was incredibly pleased with Niro's House. We ordered a variety of dishes such as Gyros, Kababs, and Greek Fries. Everything was extremely tasty, and it came piping hot. When I had a question, the man on the phone was very friendly. I would definitely order from here again!"
"After telling James, the owner, about the hard and dry Al Pastor I wrote about in my first 3 star review on 12/17/20, he said he removed Al Pastor right away from his menu, because he found his employees (like college age kids) did not take the care to grill the expensive cuts of pork that he chooses to purchase, so that it isn't overcooked. Indeed Al Pastor is no longer on the backlit menu board. Kalos Grill has the best gyros I ever had in my life! I found other restaurants' gyros, like Green Corner in Mesa, was always dried out, because the restaurant keeps it on the heat source turning and turning while all the juices drip out and moisture in the meat dissipates. Well smart James puts small amounts of freshly shaved gyros in a covered steamer, so the meat stays moist, soft, and hot. When supply gets low, he shaves more, so the steam doesn't blanch out the flavor. James told me he buys the best quality gyros he can get. Then the freshly made jalapeno and cilantro hummus is so addictive, I could eat a whole big bowl with a spoon in no time, like you would eat a bowl oatmeal. But it is expensive for a small container.Everything tastes so good. Salad is so fresh, the dressing is sooooo "homemade". You can taste the fresh herbs in the salad. I had chicken wings here, too, pretty good. They let me pick only the flats and fry to order for me.I eat here with a Local Flavor 50% off voucher that I buy when LF has 25% off sales and I usually order the same thing: One pound of gyros for $15, and $5 worth of the jalapeno and cilantro hummus. I have a class in the industrial area near Kalos Grill every Monday at 7 pm, so I come here to eat, before I go to class. James had to cut back on his hours because all the thousands of workers in this industrial area, now work from home. I saw James turn away people who arrived at 6:30 on Monday (I only come Mondays due to my class nearby). Before Covid, James said seven employees at the counter could not keep up with the business, and they worked sooo hard! Now it's like I am the only one there at 6 pm Monday nights. James is good to me, treats me like family! I don't have any family. So I hope you go eat here often, and support this business.Yum ! The gyros smells SOOOOO GOOD in the takeout box in my car!"
"The owner is the best guy I've ever met. He definitely shows his love through his service and food. I will be a loyal customer of his for years to come."
"The place was empty when I stopped in to place an order to go...I was on my way to the soccer fields to watch my kid play and picked up a salad for myself and a Chicken Shawarma Plate for my husband.Portions were huge, prices were reasonable, and our food was the envy of all of the other parents on the sidelines.Would I rush back? Probably not. However, if you're in the mood for some fast casual dining to eat in or dine out, and you don't care about ambiance, you can't go wrong with this place."
"We came here for my dad's 77 bday!It was the middle of the day and we had a very large party. All of our meals were really good, the wait staff did a fantastic job, and were super friendly. The only issue we had is they had a drink menu out and no bartender! We'll be back."
