"Authentic Korean restaurant in Mesa. We had a variety of dishes and all of them were good - Bosam Appetizer (boiled Pork Belly with Napa Cabbage, spicy noodles, garlic slices, spicy pepper sauce), Seafood Pancake (a very crispy version perfect for dipping), Spicy Cold Noodles (large bowl), and a Combo of Spicy Pork with Mushroom Pork Tofu Soup (very good). Decent service with constant resupply of water and clearing of plates."
"Another spectacular meal at Koreatown! I've been on a Japchae kick and Koreatown's japchae definitely hit the spot for me. I love that the japchae is as big, if not bigger than my head! U can't beat the portion size here! It's fantabulous!! The texture and flavor of the japchae was outstanding! Love that they put more veggies and mushrooms in it than another Korean spot that I visited recently. Our servers were nice and upbeat with very pleasant attitudes! For as long as the restaurant has been around, it's very clean, with a relaxing vibe. Looking forward to enjoying another awesome meal here!"

"Venture out a couple of blocks from downtown Chandler, and voila! We got here around 1530 on a Friday and were the only customers for a little while. Modest decor. Local mom and pop. They bought this establishment about a year ago. The food came out sizzling. They use good quality meats. Everything was great. The glass noodles were a little rubbery. But overall pleased and would come back. Service was friendly and attentive."
"During the 2020 pandemic, we ordered from Gogi. A lot. We ordered takeout today and remembered how good this place is!Portions are HUGE and the ban chan selection is really good. I ordered the beef dinner bento which came with a side of rice and everything was great!I do wish the side of rice was a little larger but making rice at home is easy. Definitely a great spot for korean food!"
"Drunken Tiger in Mesa is a fantastic place to relax and enjoy some great food and drinks! The happy hour deals were absolutely amazing--excellent prices and a good variety of options to choose from. The atmosphere is vibrant and fun, making it a perfect spot to hang out with friends. The staff are attentive and friendly, ensuring a wonderful experience every time. Highly recommend stopping by for happy hour and beyond!"
"After an appointment in the area and wanting to try a new place for sushi for lunch, found this place on Yelp. We were greeted right away and our server was very kind and attentive the entire time. They have a great lunch menu. Hubby and I both chose the Lunch Sushi Crush $13.75 which consists of miso soup, salad, 4 pieces of nigiri, 8 pieces of California roll and 8 pieces of spicy tuna roll. It was a ton of food and what a great value! My favorite was the tuna nigiri with a bit of real wasabi on top. It was so buttery and melted in my mouth. We were both very full and still had 11 pieces of California roll and 7 pieces of spicy tuna roll left over! I loved their decor, atmosphere, and how friendly everyone is. Will definitely be back when I'm in the area again."
"It's hard to get a seat here when they are busy. There were a few employees when I went. Even though the restaurant may not be full, the employees seem pretty preoccupied and busy. They had a menu out front on the greeter lectern with a sign that said to take a photo of the menu. The inside of the restaurant was very smokey. The restroom seemed clean, which was nice. A lot of places the restrooms can be pretty dirty or they are very cramped and it is hard to get in and out of the stalls. When I left the restaurant, I felt like I smelled of bbq, which I did. The next day I could smell the smoke on my clothes from the day before."
"Now I somewhat have an idea about the afternoon action of Downtown Phoenix. Well, it took me long enough to figured that out. There are more lunch options in the downtown area. With some good options in the area, I ran across this small Hawaiian dining spot for my final meal in "the Valley of the Sun".You can either order at the counter or if you are in a hurry, order ahead through the Door Dash app. I was looking at the menu above the kitchen. The café has your usual Hawaiian dishes, like the chicken katsu in which I was craving and ordered for lunch for $10.50. The meal also comes with rice, macaroni, and greens. What this place also have is brown rice for $1.50 extra. Not many places offer brown rice, but I just became a fan of the brown grain. There are some tables for dining in. But I took my meal back to my hotel. The chicken katsu meat was thick and cooked nicely. The brown rice was a difference maker with my meal. This was a solid meal."
"1/13/2024: Korean American Day We just got SERVED! All hail the KFC GAWDS: Tipsy Chicken AZ in the Asian District on Main Street of Mesa Az!They really got it going on! Serving up some of the BEST! I'm talking piping hot, beautifully breaded CRUNCHY chicken wings with a juicy tenderness underneath (lip smackin- finger lickin' - morsels of goodness) that are available in three delicious flavors! The Original, Soy & Garlic, and Sweet & Spicy! P.S. Those are some BIG BIRDS too!Don't forget to try the Bulgogoi Fries, Pork Belly Corn Cheese, & their signature cocktails too! All items are seriously on point!"
"Stopped in for lunch on a recent business trip through the area, this is good a Korean BBQ place. Walk up counter service that is courteous and professional, place your order and the server will prepare it for you as you move through the service line. Even adding a fried egg only takes a moment, your bowl is presented to you when yourorder is ready. Pay and grab a seat. After viewing the overhead board I opted for the classic BYOBowl this is pretty much you build it the way you like with choices of rices, greens, spices, meats and sauces. I went for brown rice with a spicy chicken, kimchi, beautiful mixed greens shredded cabbage and sauce with an over medium fried egg on top. It was very good and filling with just enough heat to let you know you'd been there. This small eatery is very industrial and minimalist on the inside, with a small amount of seated space to eat, a lot of the orders are take it to go. 3.5 Stars rounded up for the authentic Kimchi 00869"

We ate dinner around 6pm on a Tuesday and this place was busy. We were seated immediately and at the last table. The menu had a lot of choices and a lot sounded good. We ordered the Mushroom Soon Tofu with Beef ($13.95) (added ramen noodle for $1.50), the Sam Gyup Sal ($20.95), and the Chicken Bulgogi ($20.95). I don't see a lot of places that had Chicken Bulgogi so we ordered that. The staff were nice to us as well. The place was large and lighting was low. The food came out slowly. The Mushroom Soon Tofu with Beef was good and hot the spot on a chilly day. The Sam Gyup Sal (pork belly) was good and the Chicken Bulgogi was delicious with the char taste to it. I would recommend any of those if you can't decide on what to order. The food was good and we will be back in the future to try other food on the menu.

Based on my Yelp friends' reviews, I have been wanting to try this restaurant for a while and I'm so glad I got to try tonight! One of my favorite thing about Korean food is banchan (side dishes) as it's so fun to sample a little bit of everything. There were 8 different kinds brought out and I would say taste was about average but I appreciated the diversity and plentifulness. I could make better but it takes a lot of time and effort to make each side dish so I always appreciate someone else doing the cooking. We ordered galbi- Korean beef short ribs, spicy pork belly, and oxtail soup to share. The portion sizes were huge! Could have easily fed 5 people. Both galbi and spicy pork belly were flavorful. I just had a bit of the soup and it was just ok as I expected a richer broth. We were all very full and still had so much leftover to take home. They do charge a 3.5 percent transaction fee for credit cards which is a pet peeve of mine but I honestly didn't mind as it was a TON of pretty good food with great prices. Service was very good although the restaurant was pretty busy, especially for a weeknight. We all said we'd be back so that's always a great sign.

I think they are under new ownership. They have even less sides than before. They don't have the dried seaweed or the apple salad. They have kimchi, pickled radish, some sweet pickled cucumber, potato and bean sprouts. The bean sprouts were very salty to me. I thought that the side dishes were pretty good but was sad about the discontinued ones. Also, it seems like you might not be able to get a second serving of the side dishes unlike before. The utensils are in a box on the table. I liked how they had the utensils not public before. The water cups are now metal instead of plastic. The same with the side dish dish ware. The rice was purple due to little purple beans that was in the rice. I am still a little sad they don't have the stone rice anymore that automatically came with the soup. I had the soup and it was just like I remember mostly, but still good. The top of the soup had some broth on it which was interesting but didn't change the flavor. I wish they sold tteokbokki. I haven't found a good tteokbokki restaurant yet.

Had lunch with kids, and they love this place to get their Korean food fix in Arizona. My wife and I see why as we enjoyed everything we ordered. Starting with the Bonchon, each dish was delicious with its own unique flavor. The Kimchi Pancake was devoured, and my wife enjoyed her soup. Our service was polite and checked on us frequently. Overall, we see why our kids who are local have this spot in their rotation, and I am sure we will be back in the future.

We had such a good experience here on a Tuesday night. Our server and host was very kind and attentive. We each got our orders at different times, which wasn't ideal, but we were all pretty happy with our decisions. California roll and edamame for our son, jjamppong for my husband, and unagi donburi for me. My unagi was beautiful in a smaller bowl than I expected, but sacrificing quantity for quality was a much appreciated decision. The unagi were splayed out over the white rice and lightly topped with ikura. It was lovely to savor these flavors together. The California roll was a hit. My husband's jjamppong was not his first choice (that first choice wasn't available that night) but he ate it all. It was a spicy bowl of seafood and noodle soup, but it was the kind of spicy that still allowed a healthy amount of flavor through. Love the ambiance here. They had a Japanese food show on the day we were there and it was fun to see from across the restaurant. I also really liked the anime style eyes light behind the sushi bar. Looking forward to sharing this spot with others.

We decided to eat at Paradise Hawaiian BBQ while in Phoenix towards the end of our trip because we missed eating "rice"! Because we were there for a convention, it was crowded because they are walking distance from the convention center. We decided to do a phone call order. As i called, i get yelled at over the phone "HOLD ON!" So i hold on... she finally comes back on and says "what do you want to order?" I'm kind of used to this type of yelling, because when you go to a L and L, this is exactly how they talk to. We decide to order 4 plates. We walk over to the little shop and stand in line. The one cashier seemed overwhelmed so another lady comes to help her. We get to the cashier and they know we ordered over the phone, again the lady who took the order was a little rude. So i decided to ask, who's from Hawaii? She said i am. I said wow, that's nice that you decided to open up a restaurant here. Again she was a little standoffish. So we informed her we were from Hawaii, and she looked up at us and her whole attitude was a lot different, very nice. Whether your from Hawaii or not, everyone should receive the aloha spirit. As we waited for our food, we met this guy that sat at the first table doodling on a napkin. I went over and spoke with him, come to find out he was a architect and created some of the buildings in hawaii! How cool is that. Our food then came out, everything was good.

"3.5 stars. Ordered to-go via Fantuan. Everything was ready at the said pick up time. Looked like a large restaurant with colorful lights, def a karaoke atmosphere although not sure if they have KTV.Egg omelette: got the regular one without meat. I love cheese so appreciated how much cheese was in it lol. Tasty.Grilled squid: Not as good as expected. Cooked fine, wished the sauce was thicker. Maybe better to have in person than take out.Fried whole chicken: crispy and delicious. Fun to pull apart. The chicken isn't that big - probably a cornish hen?Crab egg soup: thought it would have real crab, but just crab sticks so that was a disappointment. Lots of diff veggies in the soup. Thick soup and flavorful, husband really liked it.Overall not bad, felt like the price point was a bit high for portion size but we enjoyed the food for the most part."
"Why isn't this place more popular? I kind of want to gatekeep it because I don't want all the two hands girlies to flock over there and ruin the short wait time. Yet again this place needs more business because it truly is the superior Korean corn dog establishment. The batter was thick and crispy, the cheese pulls were 10/10, and the selection was chef's kiss. I personally got the sweet potato dog with half cheese and half dog and it was the best Korean corn dog I've ever had. Better than two hands down the road. I definitely want to go back and try the squid ink dog because the picture looked SO intriguing. They also sell teokbokki and they have so many sauces to choose from (my bestie wants to call out the sweet chili sauce because that is a. NEED)The prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity since the dogs are HEFTY. TRUST we will be returning when we need a Korean corn dog fix again."
"I enjoyed the vibe of this place. The servic was lacking. The food, meeh. However, the spot is good for grabbing a drink. There is indoor and outdoor seating available. Accessible entrance. Parking garage nearby."
"This is a great addition to the 16th Street restaurant corridor. The menu is extensive, the food is fresh and tasty, and the service is great.A group of four of us ordered a hodgepodge of sushi rolls and we were not disappointed. Each roll had a specific flavor and allowed us the opportunity to enjoy a number of different textures. We started with miso soup. Not quite hot enough but yummy. We didn't have dessert as we were all stuffed by the end of the meal. The inside decor is clean and has an eastern/Asian vibe. The waitress was very helpful. There is a good-sized parking lot around back because there are only a couple of spaces in the front.Try this place for some great sushi rolls."
"Definitely coming back. High quality and very traditional ingredients. I grew up eating Korean food homemade by my mom and have had such a hard time finding legit Korean food options in Arizona that wasn't bbq. Super clean too!"
"For the price point and quality of sushi this is a great spot in N. PHX! Located in a very plain and casual plaza, what a gem.Great service - friendly staff. Friend and I ordered 5 dishes - salmon carpaccio (omg such pretty presentation), spicy scallop roll, snow flower roll, over the rainbow roll, and yellow tail lover. Rolls are definitely a few dollars less than some of the well known sushi spots in PHX. Everything was fresh and tasty. Some sushi toppings were combos I had never seen before which was cool. Definitely would return - check it out for your next casual sushi date!"
"Not sure why but I always got Jajangmyeon noodle. I hardly ever find this menu at other restaurants and the noodle here is so tasty. It like a comfort food to me. I will need to try other menus that they have."
"Delicious drinks and dogs! This place has such a dope ambiance! It is truly a place where you can bring your laptop, grab a corner, and eat some good treats. They have a variety of teas, bobas, fruit jelly, blended drinks, and more. I love tropical fruits, so seeing Lychee and Passion fruit on the menu is a huge win. My kids love the teas. They are a little too sweet for me. However, I added water, and it was perfect. I do believe you can adjust the sweet level for more balance. Now, for the star of the show, the Krispy dogs! Filling-Beef,Cheese, or half and half Coating-Hot Cheeto, Churro, Krispy,Potato, or Classic. What I love is that meat is a great quality beef, and the coating options are legit! The Krispy Dog is probably my favorite because it offers a nice balance of sweet and savory, which compliments the hot dog perfectly. My son loves the Hot Cheeto because what kids aren't obsessed with hot stuff right now.I would have given them another star if the dogs were crispier. If the Hot Dog is called Krispy, then I expect a crunch when I bite it and soft on the inside. Circa Ala Hot Dog on the Stick mall days, man miss them. However, I brought the dogs home and popped them in the air fryer for a few minutes, and it truly was another level!!! All in all, this place is solid, unique, and great customer service. I can't wait to try the Kimchi fries, which I will update my review when I do. Until then, go get one!"
"Stopped in to checkout the new Korean dog spot by home. They have plenty of options and sauces available. We went with a potato dog and a half cheese and half dog. We also got a side of the highly recommended garlic Parmesan fries. The place was clean and service was friendly. We tried a bit of each sauces and all of them were really good! The outside of the dogs were crispy as they should be with plenty of flavors. There is plenty of cheese inside for that cheese pull pic as well! ;)Overall, a good spot to cure that crunchy Korean dog craving!!"
"The best chicken flavors are soy chili garlic and honey chicken. The original is really good, but nowhere near as good as the garlic flavors."
"Yummy!!! Brought me back to my childhood, at the fair! These corn dogs are amazing. They have unique coatings, but today I went all American, and had the traditional corn dog, it was crispy, with just right amount of sweetness. Loved it. The fries were crispy, hot and spicy. The customer service was awesome, all made to order, the establishment was clean and inviting. The food packaging is perfection! Love the boxes. Price point is great, you get what you pay for! 100% recommend"
"Our first visit to an all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ. Our poor waiter had to explain everything to us. He was such a trooper. Cooking your food on an in-table grill was pretty fun. The bulgogi was SO good. I ordered the Cajun shrimp and I had to pass. I didn't expect them to come complete with head she'll and legs. I was really unsure how to properly mutilate them and I don't think our server knew either. I'll have to watch a YouTube video before our next visit so I can destroy some seafood . They also have pool tables. Great place for a party."
"My wife and I just went there for lunch and we were not disapponterd! The malatang is outstanding. You pick your meat, veggies, noodles, etc., put it in a bowl, pay by the pound and they cook it for you. You have a couple options for a broth bowl or stir fried. And several flavors of both. Then you are served at your table with a sterno warmed bowl with your meal in it.My wife opted for shrimp fried rice, since she is not much for spicy food. And it was excellent!!I love spicy anything, and most of the time spicy food in AZ isn't spicy at all. Not today. They have multiple levels of spice so I went with the middle of the road; number 3. It was quite good. Not too spicy and not too mild. Our helpful server also gave me a very small sample side of the level 5 to try. Wow, that was worthy of its "inferno" name. Glad I didn't get my whole meal in that, I think I may have melted...Everything was fresh and delicious. Service was excellent and knowledgeable. Especially since we have never experienced this before. There was more than enough food for both of us. We will be back, and bring our friends."
"This place definitely bumped up its food game recently. They are very comparable to traditional restaurant (unlike food court food). They offer bigger selection of food. I've noticed they also have cold naengmyun too. Will have to come back and try it on a warmer day. The Seonji haejangguk and gamjatang is best I've had in Arizona. The portion is big enough to share; Hubby and I had enough leftover for one more meal. Broth is delicious without being salty or spicy. Way to go, Asiana Kitchen! Highly highly recommend."
"Thank you guys for making my V Day just a little bit better after spending all day at Mayo Clinic!"
"Got a boneless bucket to go. It took maybe 5-10 minutes for them to fry it which wasn't too bad I thought. The bucket was enough for 2-3 people depending on appetites and consisted of dark meat chunks in varying sizes. I liked the rice flour batter which made the chicken crispy and the seasoning was spot on. You have your choice of mild or hot spice level. We had the mild which was just right for me. It had just enough heat to highlight the other flavors in the batter. The to go packaging was well thought out too. The bucket has a partially open lid to let heat escape so that your chicken doesn't steam and get soggy on the way back home. The order came with a sweet/sour type sauce, a sweet mustard sauce and pickled daikon. All were full flavored and went well with the chicken. As for price, the small bucket is $11.99 which is an OK price for what you get I think."
"I got the three pack of corn dogs and the spicy tots. One corn dog was half mozzarella/,cheddar, spicy beef and regular beef it was SO good. Highly recommend."
