"Oh how I love this restaurant! My friend Angie chose this place for us to meet up. I don't know how I had never even heard of it before she made our reservations. I am so incredibly glad that she brought me here because this place is amazing. The atmosphere is is what I would call upscale French country. They are beautiful arrangements of porcelain wear champagne bottles and even figurines of chickens. There are fleur-de-lis painted on the ceiling and the plates are all provincial China. There is a lovely garden patio, halloween sat inside. When we were seated, we received bread with pesto, some olives, and some marcona olives. We began our order with the baked chevre with crostini and the bacon, gruyere and leek tartlet. The tartlet had a crust that was so light and flaky and buttery that it literally melted in your mouth. So delicious! We move out your entrees. The beef bourguignon's burgundy gravy was so rich and flavorful and delicious and the meat was so tender. The scallops in white wine sauce and gruyere with wild mushrooms was superb. The scallops were huge - - I only ate 1 and 1/2 so I could have room for dessert. Dessert was fabulous! We had the chocolate raspberry cake with fresh raspberries, buttercream, and chocolate mousse. It was a wonderful dark chocolate. We also had the tuxedo cake--yellow cake layered with chocolate ganache, chocolate mousse, and white chocolate buttercream. It was heavenly!Our server was great. She gave us plenty of time and did not rush us at all. We were a bit surprised when she brought us plastic to go boxes, instead of taking our plates back in boxing them as you would expect in a place like this. That said, they've only just started dinner service, it may not be in the groove yet. This place is wonderful. The atmosphere is absolutely lovely, as was our server, and everything we ate was an 11 on a scale of 1 to 10. Be prepared--I have a lot of pictures!"

"This place was awesome! Anyone in to board gaming or cards or anything in that non electrical, non digital department should run here. Staff were so friendly Ella was our home slice who chatted it up with us wile we waited for our drink. We were grateful for the conversation. This place was huge and beyond clean and tidy. The manager knew so much about every single game there it was wild. I got an iced mocha with oat milk and it was delicious and absolutely made with love. We plan on taking mini me back there for family game day.This place was an excellent find on our let's explore Az more tour that Sbl and I have been on for the past year."

"Bertha's has new ownership (I think since 2022) and it has steadily gone downhill. The cookies that come with your sandwiches are routinely stale or taste so strange I have actually spit them out. Some of the best menu items are now gone as well. Today I decided to try again--they are closed, but still happily accepting orders online. So after you pay and show up to pick up your food--you'll find that they closed and forgot to turn off their website ordering. Yes, the order was placed directly with them. I really loved this place when Beth Goldwater owned it. I think it's over. The magic is gone."

"My husband and I both had Cafe de Bangkok bookmarked for quite some time and finally got the opportunity to stop by for dinner. We had gone in the late afternoon, around 4:30pm on a Saturday. As expected, they weren't very busy but had more people comeing in as it grew closer to 5pm.Our sever made some recommendations from their menu; we went with the Yellow Curry with chicken (mild / medium), Guay Teaw Nam Tok (hot), and roti bread. The curry was nice and thick with a good amount to chicken and potatoes, it also had really good flavor. I typically don't like much spice but agreed with the recommended mild/medium spice level as it added a nice kick. My husband really enjoyed the noodle soup. It had a nice broth that had a good balance of spiciness and tartness, it came with a nice filling amount of noodles and pork/meatballs.Overall, we were very satisfied with our food. Their menu consists of a lot of the traditional items you'd expect to see at a Thai restaurant but they have some that I've never heard of before as well. I'm looking forward to returning to dine here again!"

"7 years since the last review. I did not ever live here yet!Hillside Spot has consistently been the best place to eat for us over the last 7 years! We have tried almost everything on the menu and have not found one thing wrong, or lacking in any way with any of the meals we were served. My favorite is the 50/50. I like to get a sandwich or salad with whatever soup they are serving that month. Again have always been impressed with whatever the soup is and adding a salad or sandwich to the makes it just the right amount of food. I am diabetic and my hubby is pre-diabetic, so the most wonderful thing for us is that we can order great-tasting food and not worry about our blood sugars getting out of control. Yes, we try to stay away from fries, chips, etc but Hillside offers fruit or salad as great alternative sides to choose from. Although their fries are delicious, we will share them once in a while. Choices! That is what we love most about Hillside Spot.Service is always good. I like that they hover on the periphery and are not interrupting with questions, but are there when needed. Finally the beer list. The beer selection is very good. Hubby likes to have one once in a while and the selection is great. Even have Wren House!"

I went with the biscuits and gravy, which was two full biscuits and a perfect gravy with just a little bit of kick.. Being that it was the weekend, it was packed and there was a sign-in sheet to get seated. Who would've known this little hidden gem perfect for families or just a quick breakfast at the counter for one was even here?! Service was great as this is clearly a well seasoned staff. No pun intended. Get up on the second deck just to see what's happening on the tarmac at the small municipal airport before getting seated or after."

"I saw this place on ticktock and well because I love coffee I gave it a try. First the place is big they have plenty of sitting space inside out in the front and out in the back. Looks like they allow pets a saw a costumer with his pet. There was a little of multi tasking from the staff and that can create a some confusion. We had to make two transactions as there was staff changing tasks. I did not got to try any pastries as they didn't look very fresh. I would give this place another try just to try another coffee. I tried la Guerita and it was a good coffee. My husband as usual improvised and got an americano with a scoop of vanilla ice cream."

"Driftwood is so cute and quiet. The neighborhood is exactly the same! Clean, quiet, down the street from the shop is a community center, behind the shop is a completely shaded play area with tables and chairs to lounge while the kids play. The area is almost complete fenced in which was my favorite part of the location. Haha the seasonal coffees are very creative. I tried, "The Remix" and to my delighted surprise, there were real peanuts in the bottom. The pastries are from a local bakery and very flavorful. Jacob, from Mystic Coffee in Gilbert is one of the roasters at this shop and then it made sense why the coffee itself was so good. Haha The handcrafted drinks take a little longer than your average coffee shop but will not disappoint."

Unfortunately this place is crazy busy for good reason so expect 30+ minutes waits during peak hours.Group and large parties can reserve the party room in the rear. This area is staffed separately including bar service which is where our Red Friday's group used to meet. Menu is breakfast, lunch and dinner with all day breakfast.My pick and their patrons favorite is the Biscuits and Gravy. An order is all I can eat. Service is friendly and I've never seen servers hustling like here.Despite a long wait in the main dining area my score is for service and excellent country breakfast!$$"

It had a lovely little makeshift patio set up outside and inside a cozy dining area and counter to order. The family each picked a pasty to go as well as a freezer pack for lunches. I had the steak special for August. It didn't have a ton of steak, but between the vegetables, crust, and gravy, I was satisfied. My daughter got a cottage pie, which was stuffed with ground beef, potatoes, and mixed vegetables. We're looking forward to going back for more."

They had just put out muffins that were still warm so of course I had to grab one. It was the morning glory muffin which think of carrot cake in muffin form. It was sooooo good. The gal working so super nice and allowed me time to decide on what to drink. They had so many choices! I opted for the praline sugar cookie latte which comes standard with almond milk. The coffee wasn't the best brew but also not the worst. I will definitely come back for some baked goods and grab another coffee!"

"This place is our favorite for the taste of the cake. Have ordered customized cakes on various occasions here and have never regretted about it. Cake taste just amazing here that you won't get in any other place. Must try place for your party cakes.However there are couple of things that we don't like here. We have faced some weird staff here who felt to be rude as well occasionally. Not a very pleasant greetings you can expect every time. Secondly, we tried their over the counter bakery items and mostly satisfied with it except one incident when the pastries were frozen badly with ice crystals and it did not taste good at all. At least not when you pay hefty price for the pastries.Coming to price, this place is not cheap at all and don't go if you are looking for similarly priced cakes as in Walmart, fry's and other super market. With the great taste comes the high price. They charge for the quality but it is still worth it and I would recommend this place."

Service was friendly and welcoming. We ordered a iced americano, matcha latte with oatmilk, honey lavender latte, and chocolate cookie. The lattes were both yummy and refreshing and the cookie was thick and soft (more like bread) perfect for sharing. We snagged the 4 comfy leather swivel chairs in the corner and had a relaxing time."

"Really wanted to love Cielito Rosa Bakery & Cafe more. The shop's cute af and totally instagram-worthy, for sure. The vibes are on point, and the drinks we tried were tasty. We grabbed the Butterfly Kisses Latte, which is caramel and lavender (the edible butterfly on top was a nice touch!) and a classic horchata. Both were solid. The pastries were a little hit and miss, though. The pig-shaped gingerbread cookie was good and reminded me of when we used to get these cookies as kids. The macaron tart with strawberries was just okay tho as it was a little soggy from the filling and didn't hold together well because of that. We went midday on a Tuesday, and it was surprisingly busy for a weekday, which probably explains why it took some time to get just two drinks. Plus, the prices were a bit on the higher side for what we got. Cielito Rosa definitely has potential and I'd say it's worth checking out if you're in the area and want some instagramable pics, but overall, it didn't quite live up to the hype."
