Merkerson's Fish Market

This restaurant has been closed for a while and the phone number is disconnected, but the internet says it's open. I have been checking for some sort of update and have found nothing. My guess is they were bought out and may have have been told not to say anything about the sale. The drive way entrance and exit is chained off, and they never to my knowledge have done that before.

Look past exterior... The fried fish is the best couldn't wait to visit when I came home for the holidays

Ok, so first let me put out a disclaimer; do not expect exceptional customer service or an inviting dining room when coming here. If your expectations are low in those areas then you'll be more open to truly enjoying the food. This place is geared towards takeout, so it's best to order your food and take it elsewhere to eat. All of that aside this place is awesome. The fish is always fresh and flavorful.

Whole in the wall type place. Nice portion of fish. No frills. No restroom. No friendly service.

Ok my friend from college took a picture of his order of fried to order fish at Merkerson's but he didn't tell me how good it was! The ocean perch was delicious! Light and fresh filets, with 2 slices of brea crinkle cut fries and slaw. I can't wait to come back here. Don't come for the ambiance, come for the food!!

Why four stars for a dive???Well I ordered fish n when I arrived to pick up that place was gross looking and it is in desperate need of a facelift. So when I went outside there was a BBQ shack smokehouse, it was a Friday and I was very hungry at lunchtime. I got four bones that's ribs, potato salad and beans. I must say I was completely and utterly surprised how good it was i'm talking these ribs were so flavorful and had a smoke ring so they were cooked a very long time. They were not necessarily fall off the bone but were very tender flavorful and juicy. I would definitely return and hope that they do a upgrade on the look of this place

This is a good cool hood spot. My homeboy took me over here cuz he said he use to come here when he was in college cuz they had the cheap specials. I got the whiting special that comes with 3 pieces of fish and fries for $3.49. Everything was good. I'm definitely hittin this place up again!

I love going here being that I stay on Lee St this place isn't far from my place of residency , all I do is call big boy before I am about to come up there I tell em sir let me get 2 specials 1 with an extra piece of fish and the other 1 just regular matter of fact I am about to call them nowDon't let the neighborhood full you , they have the best whitting special in Atlanta and the Entire AUC college kids get like 10 % off don't quote me now .

Went back to Merkersons again! I had the special and the snapper sandwich to go! The smell of sewage wasn't there this time and overall everything was good! That snapper was popping and yes I would visit again! The prices are cheap!

Awesome...best fish I've had in a while!!. Don't judge this book by its cover (exterior and interior) just get some fish and enjoy yourself!
