Fashionista enough that it fits the Miami Design District (They even have a door tall enough to accommodate the style snobs with the long noses pointed up to the sky in chic superiority as they strut to lunch or that coffee pick me up after a day of sizing up the marks, er, clients looking for a $200k kitchen with the range tip that hovers in mid air with the German brand label conspicuously visible. Ah, but I digress. This is their watering hole, and, given the grave looks I received from a couple of them lunching, I had pierced the inner sanctum. The restaurant that it attached to is for us, I guess... On to the food. The pastries, salads etc are destination even if you can't pronounce any of the French names on the street well. Drop a star for watery espresso with an odd burnt taste. The brownie bite was from scratch and authentic. The beautiful people will be in love once the district gets its shopping maul (and yes I spelled that correctly) overhaul.

Decent quick food. The cashier (young lady with long black hair) needs an attitude adjustment. Asked for napkins and she pointed where to get it. Say whaaaaat? We were the only customers. So clueless. She also made our sandwiches without using gloves or washing her hands after handling the cash register. What a shame.

Super rude staff! I went in there. I ordered an item displayed on their menu (eggs & cheese). The girl responded super rudely that this was a breakfast item. I then asked what kind of food items they had available at the moment. The girl just basically looked as if she would rather be anywhere on earth than working the cash register in a café. She named the items. I asked her to repeat one of the items (she had a very strong accent). She rolled her eyes and repeated. I then asked her if they had wifi. She told me they did not. I said "Oh ok" and I proceeded to leave the café (I absolutely wanted to work in a café with wifi; it's a pretty basic questions and I assume a lot of people ask this in a café like this one). The girl responded with the most sarcastic tone ever "OH. MY. GOOOOD." Seriously? Someone walks into your café, asks your questions about your menu (and it's a good thing I did, since most of the items of the menus were apparently not available), asks if you have wifi and that's how you respond? Good luck staying in business with that attitude.

Amazing place to go grab a cup of coffee and just chill. This place, although small, is very roomy and bright. There is natural sunlight just beaming into Mercato. The people here are also really niceThe food and small pastries are as delicious as they look! Also, they make everything from scratch from the kitchen next door.I definitely will be coming back when I come back to Miami! This place is memorable for me.

Cute little cafe in the design district with moderate pricing. I enjoyed the option of ordering their side salads a la carte and chose a quinoa with veggies that was quite tasty. And I'm not typically the quinoa type.... The container was around $5. They also offered egg salad, seafood salad and a brussel sprout salad. I'll be back to try the chicken Milanese that my coworkers speak highly of but was sold out by 2pm when we arrived.
