"The best fried rice in Memphis! The food is delicious and comes out super fast. The staff is great and I dine in as well as order take out very frequently. Definitely recommend coming here for some good sushi as well"
"The food was excellent! However, we were particularly impressed by the service at Sononana! We were traveling through on our way to North Carolina and were tired and road weary! The hostess got us in in 15 minutes, despite a projected 40 minute wait. The server quickly helped us to get our food order in, brought us our beverages right away, with food soon to follow. Everyone seems happy that works here and the staff all worked together to provide a sunny atmosphere with caring and compassionate service! Thank you for a great dinner!"

"Love Peter's for a workday lunch stop. Service here is impressively fast and always friendly. The sushi always comes out extremely fresh and the quality of fish is too notch. Highly recommend checking out the Michael Jackson roll if you like a little spice with your roll."
"We visited tonight for the first time because my family was in town and everything was absolutely delicious. I had the salmon teriyaki that comes with hibachi veggies and I opted for fried rice instead of white along with some yum yum sauce on the side. It came out piping hot on a skillet, the presentation was appealing, the portion was hefty and the flavors were scrumptious. The restaurant itself can seat about 50-100 people so it's not very large in size but don't let that deter you from trying it out."
"Going to caveat that I'm from CA so my standard is a bit high when it comes to sushi. That being said, I was fairly satisfied with the quality I found here! We were a big party and ordered a large variety of items on the menu. From the sushi platters to the bento boxes, all the portions were huge and didn't leave anyone hungry. The service was great and handled our big table efficiently, all the food came out at a reasonable time. Well decorated interior as well, overall a great choice for Japanese and sushi out in Memphis!"
"Never had a bad meal at Sakura. I have had sushi from west to east coast and this is the best I have ever had. Quick service and great food, enjoy!"
"We love this restaurant! We went around 7pm on a Wednesday, and were seated right away. The service is excellent and they are very attentive. I ordered the chicken teriyaki bento box and my husband got beef bulgogi bento box. When I say it's a bunch of food, trust me! There's sooooo much! Each box comes with your choice of 4 rolls, we both got the California roll, veggie and shrimp tempura, soup and salad, two crab cream cheese rolls, rice and your entree. All of the items were delicious! It was so much food, that we took all of our many entrees home. The leftovers were delicious too! The restaurant has plenty of parking, and a decent amount of tables. There is seating around the sushi bar too! We will be back!"
"This is mediocre Japanese food. We went here bc my friend's daughter loves the salads for some reason. She ordered 2 kinds of sushi that was cut too thick, so she asked to have it sliced more thinly. My friend and I got bento boxes. They were pretty big. Tasty. The fried rice was just salty and just soy sauce not really fried. I had to ask to replace with reg white rice which was better.Their miso soup wasn't great either. I had to ask them to replace with an udon type of broth soup which was a heck of alot better. Not the greatest dinner for about $30 per person."
"Good sized space, feels even larger as they appear to have taken away a row of banquet seating due to staffing shortages. Sadly no sushi bar seating allowed, also due to staff issues. Overall a clean, simple and attractive space. Nice amount of room between tables. No draft beer but they do have the appropriate Japanese bottled beers. Gyoza came out hot and quite tasty. Nigiri and rolls were fine, it's not the best sushi I've ever had, but it's good, and I'd certainly come back for more. Lots of diners enjoying the non-sushi options, so the menu looks worth exploring."
"A year later and several consistently impressive visits, this spot never fails us. It's our fav date spot! The staff is so warm & helpful, the food is superior for the price point, and the ambiance is casual yet intimate! Still our #1 sushi spot!"
"I live in Memphis, so anytime I'm in Olive Branch or Southaven I have to dine in at Urban Japanese. Every time I go I get caught up in my food and experience that I forget to leave a review. Well I went to night and what can I say they never miss. The food always comes out hot and delicious. I love their spicy basil rice, thai dynamite, the Tom yum soup... ahhhhhhh you can't go wrong with anything you order here. The service is always good and they are very affordable. The inside is kinda small but I've never had to wait to be seated. There drinks aren't overpriced either. I love it and you will too."
"A true hidden gem tucked away in an assuming plaza in Madison (located next to Longhorn steakhouse)! I've been here several times now, a couple times before their expansion and a couple after. While I can't give a review on the hibachi side- I have nothing but good things to say about their sushi! A friend introduced me to this spot pre pandemic and I have been hooked ever since. You will not find a spot that offers a better deal while also maintaining the quality of food! At least I personally haven't. Is this the absolute best sushi? Hard to say as ultimately we are landlocked here in Nashville, but none the less there's still good and bad sushi to be had. I prefer only the good kind but to each their own. Arigato has the good stuff when you combine the price point, taste and quality. Arigato offers an impressive variety of really creative rolls. You can also see pics on their walls which is very helpful visually speaking. I think this spot is particularly good for beginners as there are plenty of rolls that are not raw yet still has lots of good raw options. I personally like both so I appreciate their offers. Moreover, Arigato is the only menu I have come across offering a choice in the rolls you want for your sushi combo meal! Meaning you have a list of rolls to choose from for a certain price point. I.Love.This. sooo much! Most sushi places will offer a combo but on their terms, such as a California with either philly, spicy tuna/salmon or alaksan roll - for example. For me I like picking from their Arigato special sushi menu- either two or three rolls for under $25 (a steal!)The price point honestly can't be beat when you choose one of these combos. A la carte, the rolls are similar to any other place you might find sushi. The deal really lies within these combos. Beyond sushi, I can tell some of their other hibachi or bento combos are also decently priced as well.Lastly, the service has always been pleasant here. All the ladies are alway kind and attentive. No complaints here. Also, it's never been too bad of a wait time either. I can't wait to go back. Don't wait. Bring your fellow sushi loving friends/ lovers/ family. You won't be disappointed."

Food: 3/5Service: 5/5Ambiance: 5/5They have a big menu of both traditional sushi and fusion/americanized items. What brings the food to a 3/5 is that it is inconsistent. Sometimes it's super fresh and sometimes it is fishy as heck. I need to stop ordering their Uni, as it is one item that has been consistently not good here. Service has always been great, they have really friendly staff! If you're a newbie to Japanese food or sushi, they'll talk you through everything. I love the ambiance because it's a bit outdated but it's just cozy OG Japanese setup. Overall it's a good, solid Japanese restaurant.

The circle of life has taken place at Peter's for me; from first dates, to mother-daughter lunches, to meals with friends... Peter's is the right environment for every occasion.Cozy into a booth for affordable sushi, great pad Thai & the best service in the greater Nashville area. Even the after dinner chocolate mints add to it's charm :)

I love coming here but I haven't had an excuse in a while. Both their sushi and main courses are excellent so you can't go wrong here. Just a note, the hibachi seems to come with a sauce on the chicken even if you just get the regular chicken. My friend indicated it was a sweet sauce and that she hadn't seen it on the menu or she would've asked them to leave it off. The Kaboom Shrimp is almost identical to Bonefish Grill's version, but a much smaller portion. It was very tasty but not large enough to be something I would get as a meal like I would at Bonefish.I really wanted to like the Chicken Coconut Soup but the only part I liked was the base. I didn't like the chicken in it nor the mushrooms. I'm sad but at least I tried it. Also, the Pad Thai is pretty good but it isn't great with the tofu or the shrimp. The Big Ole Po Boy is HUGE and delicious. I enjoyed eating it by itself and with soy sauce and ginger. You can also ask for extra spicy mayo and eel sauce, which I might do next time. I did find out that one sushi roll isn't enough to fill me up so next time I'll be sure to get an appetizer or fried rice or another roll.To Try:Spicy Basil ChickenThai Dynamite ChickenFried Rice: Spicy Pineapple ChickenFried Rice: Spicy Basil ChickenNoodle: Pad Thai PorkCurry: Panang Steak (rare) or Chicken if they don't do steakCurry: Yellow ChickenSushi: Evo RollSushi: Crazy Crab RollSushi: Grizzly RollSushi: Yummy Roll ***Sushi: Dynamite RollSushi: Kabuki RollSushi: Ninja RollSushi: Dare Devil RollSushi: Spider RollSushi: Rock N RollSushi: Volcano RollSushi: Joe RollDessert: Fried Cheese CakeDessert: Ice Cream Red BeanLove:- Appetizer: Harumaki (spring rolls)- Appetizer: Kaboom Shrimp- Lemon Grass Chicken (max spicy, extra sauce, white rice)- Soup: Clear- Sushi: Big Ole Po Boy Roll (with side of spicy mayo and eel sauce)Liked:- Appetizer: Vegetable Spring Rolls (fried)- Lemon Grass Chicken (max spicy, extra sauce, fried rice)- Pad Thai: Chicken- Sushi: Daredevil Roll- Sushi: Sunrise RollOk:- Pad Thai: Shrimp- Salad: Seaweed- Side: Fried Rice- Soup: Chicken Coconut- Soup: Miso- Sushi: Fire Stone Roll- Sushi: Sweet Potato RollDislike:- Side: Salad- Pad Thai: Tofu

This is my go to sushi place, I can call it in and pick it up and it's always on point. Each time I've ordered here the employees are helpful and friendly even over the phone. The restaurant is nice and clean and the decor is beautiful and minimalistic. It's not overwhelming so you do feel comfortable dining in.

The sweetest of the sweetest people work here. I am in town for a visit and I came here for dinner. I ordered the salmon tataki and agedashi and both were so good and hit the spot. My only regret was accidentally dropping my sake cup which made the entire restaurant gasp. It was empty and I rested it on top of the sake bottle and it fell off. Sad face on that. But happy face on the food, the service, the people, and the entire restaurant for being so sweet and accommodating.

The sushi was really good but the regular food was normal. I asked the waiter for his recommendations for sushi and he suggested Belleview. I never would've tried it myself but it was the best thing! It had sushi and scallops on top and it was amazing. "Amazing! Nothing fancy, just simple and fresh. The way it should be. You can actually taste the flavors instead of tons of mayo or drowned out and soggy sushi. The service is always spot on and friendly and the ambiance is very chill. Its also friendly on your wallet. It's hands down our favorite. They have spotty hours sometimes...so, we often will call before we drive that way."
"WOWThe most amazing , fresh Chinese food you will find in Jackson , Absolutely perfect from the rice , vegetables and the pork."
"Hands down my favorite hibachi meal in Memphis. The food is always delicious, very impressive how fresh the seafood is considering we aren't near a coast. The restaurant itself is clean and the staff is very friendly, we always have great service."
"Circled back around and decided to try the hibachi since I never get that and always get sushi. The chicken hibachi did not disappoint. Comes with two grilled shrimp, fried rice and grilled veggies. It was very good and I found something else to eat whenever I visit. I also ordered a snow crab roll and try the "blue haze" drink. The waitress asked if I wanted my drink made regular or strong. I told her regular and while it was sweet, it still got the job done. I really enjoyed it and of course I'll be back!"
"Great looking venue, with good service. I initially thought it might be takeout only because they had this tiny window in the foyer. I walked inside and sat at the bar to order. I ordered the bbq salmon roll. It was assembled as advertised. I may have made my selection too quickly because I wasn't entirely satisfied. I was just here for takeout of a little bit of sushi. I'm looking forward to trying out the yakisoba and other items."
"I was very pleasantly surprised with this place. It doesn't look like much from the outside but I really enjoyed the food! The server was very pleasant and attentive to anything that I might need. I had read a complaint that the yum yum sauce tasted like peanut butter. There's a reason. It is! The peanut butter yum yum sauce was unusual but very good! I really liked it. I recommend this place, especially if you're like me, traveling for work and dining alone."
"Update! Electricity was fine. I'm giving this woman own business five stars to compensate for th first visit."
"Absolute delight find. I didn't expect this place to have sushi and have been to two others around the area in search of finding a great neighborhood sushi spot; the others were let downs, so search continued, and this place was on the list. Learned my lesson from the last ones to check the menu out, which had some variety. Not all California rolls with other toppings. Sooo much better than the other places I've tried in the area, and I will be a regular. Super fresh. Great cuts and presentation, super friendly staff. The sushi chef seems to truly like his craft & hospitality. They can only serve beer on the adult beverages which is a bummer but everything else here is really great sushi and service wise."
"We came here to enjoy a little late night snack. I enjoyed one of the new specials of sushi which it was really really good especially the dipping sauce that came with it. I love the steam buns. They are always delicious and the tempura fried shrimp was really great with the steam bun. The fried rice was just as good as when they cook it on the hibachi. The noodles were OK for me. I didn't really care for the texture. The mixed vegetables was good too. The server was able to make recommendations of menu items and he was nice."
"Like others, this is our go-to Chinese restaurant in the area. I believe the owners are Taiwanese as there are a ton of Taiwanese style dishes on the menu. Speaking of which, we've never had any of the American style Chinese dishes on the menu so if that's your thing, I can't help with that. But their traditional ("authentic") dishes are all quite good... and not just Memphis good either. This food could stand up to any city in America. We've been there several times at this point. My favorites are the Taiwanese "snacks": fried pork chop or chicken over rice, pork over rice, etc. Also love their pork meatballs, pork and taro dish, pickled cabbage soup, singapore noodles, etc...I suspect there's not a bad dish on the menu. Service-wise... I'm not a fan. Same with the general ambiance (long waits while they service take-out, host watching tv while we eat, etc.)... It's unprofessional. But the food... you gotta love it."
"Got takeout for work, ordered the drunken noodle with tofu, asked for spicy. Surprisingly good. Noodles at the top were a bit hard, might be because it was sitting for a while from takeout, not sure - bottom noodles were chewier. Needs to have more vegetables, tofu was slices and not cubed which was odd. Spicy was alright, not spicy enough for me but I'll just ask for spicier next time if I want it again."
"From the outside the place looks a little sketch but once inside it's a full service restaurant. The food is always fresh and never disappoints. It's a small hibachi restaurant with non hibachi tables. The service is always fast and friendly. This was the first hibachi restaurant we visited when we moved to the area and been back many times. We have tried quite a bit of the sushi rolls. The chuck norris needs a little work. We have tried this at another local sushi restaurant and it wasn't close to the taste. Other than that all the food is great. It would be nice to see the owners spruce up the place to make it look a little more inviting but who knows. The word is they have been there for 20+ years so I don't think they have any desire to upgrade."
"We just ate on the sushi side. They have a good selection and the price is very reasonable for sushi. The fish was fresh and the presentation of the food was fun. I will be back if I am in the area."
"Best (only) place for sushi in Starkville. Yummy and affordable, a staple restaurant."
"I haven't been to Osaka in a long time, so when deciding where to go for lunch I was excited to go in and have Japanese cuisine! I really enjoyed my meal. I started out with the clear soup. It was really good and had a good amount of mushrooms and onions to make it flavorful. Next, I had the Dynamite Roll. It was super good and filling. So much so I couldn't eat all of my lunch. I could have gotten the 4 rolls, but I didn't know how big the full would be. So, if you are sharing this is definitely enough for two. For my lunch, I have the steak, rice, and veggie hibachi. My steak was medium well and packed with flavor. The rice and vegetables were the same. I literally didn't need any additional sauce for it. The service was really great and it wasn't crowded during that time."
"I hadn't eaten here in a while. Recently my family celebrated a birthday and this was my opportunity to try them out again. I had eve combination hibachi with steak, chicken, and shrimp. It was very filling and flavorful. I also had the pork potstickers. They were delicious and I loved the sauce that came with them. The steak in the rice was a little too overcooked for my liking, but otherwise great dinner!"
"Sushi is alright here, you get what you pay. However, one thing I commend this restaurant for is being able to recognize what trash looks like. I came here with my cheating ex bf, and they put a staple in his soup. The only reason why I took one star off is because unfortunately, he did not die from this incident and is instead very much alive."
"Honestly, I want to come here more but none of my family seems to like this place as much. They're all addicted to the ginger sauce at Stix. I do wish I had more excuses to come here. The fried rice is what I remember! Recently Stix's fried rice has seemed to have gotten way more basic but Osaka has really stepped theirs up!! For example, Osaka uses seasoned butter, vegetables, egg, soy sauce, and chicken in their rice. Stix only uses egg and soy sauce now. The difference is very clear and I now prefer Osaka! I also LOVED Osaka's sushi. Talk about having sushi for days- my only complaint is I wish they'd make it easier to tell which rolls are deep fried and that they'd make the menu easier to open. I don't mind a huge menu, but one that I have to spread over two seats is not good.I have to admit, the chicken hibachi wasn't as good as I was hoping for, but I really liked the shrimp. I wish they had some spicy sauce besides sriracha to add to my food, like chili paste. But I guess I'll just get shrimp next time instead. The sushi though was great! I may also just stick to getting sushi here instead of anything else. The Yamabuki rill is so good but it's so big it's difficult to fit into my mouth in one bite. I have jaw problems so I might just have to cut this one in half. It's definitely good enough to get again. To Try:Shrimp Tempura RollWhite Tiger RollArizona RollSuzuka RollBlazzin RollBangkok Fusion RollTropical Ocean RollKiss of Fire RollK-Bomb RollLolo RollMexico RollSalsa Borracha RollTropical Wutang RollPython RollD's Top Notch RollLoved:- Hibachi: Shrimp- Soup: Clear- Sushi: 40 Kel- Sushi: Crunchy Shrimp Roll- Sushi: Dragon Roll- Sushi: Dynamite Roll (shrimp)- Sushi: New Dynamite- Sushi: Snow Crab Roll- Sushi: Spicy Crawfish Roll- Sushi: Spicy Eel Tempura Roll- Sushi: Tempura Roll (with soy sauce)- Sushi: Tornado- Sushi: Yamabuki RollLiked:- Hibachi: Chicken- Salad- Sushi: Big Daddy RollOk:- Sushi: California Roll- Sushi: Exotic Duo Roll- Sushi: Spicy Tuna Roll- Sushi: Sunrise Roll- Sushi: Volcano RollDisliked:- Sushi: Hot Red Dragon Roll- Sushi: New Dynamite Roll- Sushi: Salmon Skin Roll- Sushi: Spicy Crunchy Roll- Sushi: Tuna Roll- Sushi: Yellowtail Roll"
"Good Sushi for a good price! I went in for my sushi fix and boy was it satisfied. I ordered three kinds: Spicy Shrimp, Crab, & California and they were delicious. This was my first visit. You seat yourself, then someone comes and take your order. The waitress/cashier was on the phone the entire time, but boy I must say she is a "master multi-tasker" haha. She took care of me greatly in spite of. I wouldn't say that this would be my go to Sushi spot, but if I am in the area and have a strong sushi craving I will stop in."
"I always stop if I'm in that area. They all ways make me feel special and the rolls are always mouth watering. It's the best Sushi place I've visited in Nashville area. I sit at the bar to watch the chefs. It was amazing today watching one lady serve the entire restaurant in a quick efficient manner! There was over 20 of us. Also their beer selection was great. I had a Orion beer from Okinawa. It had a great taste. It easily around $12 but produced 4 glasses of beer."
"I'm not sure why we don't frequent here more often. Went on Friday night and it was packed. (they do a brisk takeout business so that is an option if the dine in is full). We ordered the Fire Dragon roll to share as appetizer. Our server informed us they were a bit backed up on those, but we were okay with waiting. It turned out to be a not very long wait and she put our dinner orders in when the roll was almost out so things flowed smoothly for the dinner.Fire Dragon roll was really good, such a nice crunch and the avocados were perfect with the Salmon etc. I ordered a Shrimp Teriyaki Bento box with Vegetable Tempura, Fried rice and California roll. Everything was so good and freshly cooked when it arrived at the table. Vegetables Tempura were fresh from the fryer hot and so tasty! I could probably make a meal of just those. The Shrimp Teriyaki was fresh and delicious also. The Bento Box is a lot and I couldn't finish but fortunately there were others in the party who helped me out. Service was great and they were busy! Again, why have we waited so long? Great spot!"
"Food is always real good. Egg drop soup can't be beat. Sushi is fresh and proportionate to the roll. The boat seating is the best but booth and back area are nice as well. Our server Kendall was real nice and helped with menu suggestions and taste profiles. Would definitely come back (and ask for her)"
"We typically on have sushi here. Our favorites are the King tuna roll. Fresh, with a more savory cut of tuna. Very filling roll Hot girl roll , fresh with just right amount of spicy tuna in center with salmon, tuna and white fish on top Best of the best roll. Large roll with tempura shrimp mixed with multiple fresh fish. Hearty roll and very well balanced. Only negative is something beyond their control really.. with it being 100 degrees outside and the habachi tables going , it is very warm inside. The lady's seem fine, but my large self gets a little on the hot side. Still worth the visit."
