"Loved this restaurant! The service was quick and the food was great. I would highly recommend going here. I loved the large selection of items to choose from, not just your standard butter chicken and tikka masala. Honestly, the tikka masala was my least favorite. I loved the green chili chicken (can't remember the name of the dish) and the mango chicken. Would recommend sharing the mango chicken and pairing it with another savory dish because it was quite sweet. The chili chicken was cooked perfectly. Spice level here is on par with the culture. If you don't like things hot, get the mild. Medium was great for me because I like some spicy, but anything more than that would have been too much I think. Their chutneys were great too. 10/10 would recommend."
"This is by far our favorite pizza place in the Memphis area. They do authentic Neapolitan pizza better than anyone around here. Highly recommended!"
Seasoned chicken breast, provolone, roasted red peppers, with a pesto mayo smear.

"For the good of the order... I will say this.....Dyers is a good "I am drunk, I need to eat something to absorb some of this alcohol" type of spot. Its a seat yourself type of spot that does not allow outside drinks. Our server was very friendly and attentive. It was extremely busy. My only annoyance was I ordered a single HAMBURGER and her response was "you know it doesn't come with cheese, right"??? I may have been snappy with my "duh, that's why I ordered a hamburger and not a CHEESEBURGER" response. I was annoyed and concerned by the thought of ppl confusing the two."
"A very friendly establishment......cookie quality was great! I wish they could have more of a coffee shop experience!"
"Best food in Memphis!FOOD: I got the fried chicken, mac and cheese, turnip greens, corn bread and candied yams. Everything was amazing and cooked to perfection. Good classic soul food flavor. The texture and flavor on the fried chicken was especially perfect. I also had the VIP sweet tea lemonade...it was soooo good!! Best sweet tea I have ever had! SERVICE: Everyone was sweet. You could feel the southern hospitality. AMBIANCE: It was such a treat to eat in this historic restaurant. The decor is classic. Nothing fancy but clean and a lot of character. Overall, would I come back? Yes and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Memphis!"
"It just occurred to me that, after all these years, I've never written a review for Amicos. We've been dining here for many years, and it never disappoints. Their Italian Stromboli is exceptional and has become our go-to favorite. While we've sampled various items from their diverse menu and found them all to be delicious, we always find ourselves returning to that Stromboli. The consistency in flavor and quality keeps us coming back time and time again. If you're looking for a place that delivers great food and an outstanding experience, Amicos is the place to be."
"The server:Boss Lady Pat was soooo nice, warm, and welcoming. The menu is super simple and the staff are happy to give recommendations and advice The food comes out fresh hot and with a smileI loved everything about coming here. The restaurant is clean, bright and a great place for groups."
"Sunday Funday with the kids. Trips to miccos are always fun. The new location is beautiful.it is a lot bigger than the old place but the flavors are still the same. We didn't have to wait and the orders were prepared very quickly."
"Very clean and friendly staff. The flavors are very flavorful and their setup is very modern and bright. I would go back again which is rare for me, this place is that good. The prices are a little higher than I would like but you get what you pay for and you won't be let down. Thumbs up!"
"Great place for Mexican food. Great atmosphere. Fantastic food and wonderful margaritas. Service super."
"12/17/23: Cute, welcoming neighborhood spot. Staff friendly and accommodating. Food is delicious so that I ate it all and forgot to take a pic. One of the few times the camera didn't eat first. Had the shrimp enchiladas. Nice size portions and reasonable priced.Drinks yummy and strong. Definitely a spot will return when back in Nashville. Thanks to multiple visits earned my mexi-can badge."
"Amazing with Mexican cuisine! The food at El Trompo will leave you stuffed and satisfied -that's what she said! Oh all jokes aside the food at El Trompo really does have flavor and soul. Most recently they added birria & quesibirria tacos on the weekends (Saturday and Sunday only). The tacos IMHO are priced but worth every penny. The ingredients are always fresh and the quality never lacks. The service is always great, my family has been coming here since 2018 and its been great to see them go from a small minimal seating hole in a wall to the expanded seating area and bar Hendersonville staple they are today. The service is consistent and the menu is larger but the quality doesn't change."

Is it fully authentic? Nope. Do I still love it? Absolutely! The weekend lunch buffet at Taj is hands down one of my favorite comfort meals in Nashville. 11-2:30 pm Saturday and Sunday, $13 of (primarily) Americanized Indian food. The new Taj location is a dream: plentiful parking, beautiful spacious interior that means even when they are slammed, they probably have an extra free table.I tend to go on the earlier side of lunch for less of a crowd, and they always seat us quickly and have plenty of options for the pure vegetarian or meat adventurous. My favorites on the buffet items are typically their off-menu items that seem to only appear at the buffet: the mushroom Manchurian, moong dal, and any vegetarian palya have been consistent favorites. I can also never resist the chicken 65 or butter chicken. They add so much unnecessary red dye to their meat items but they are still so addictively tasty. Service can be hit or miss here; sometimes (even if not busy) it's the end of my meal before I see my plate of fresh naan but when serving a dining room this large, I think some of that is to be expected. Please plan to need at least a two hour nap after your meal - but it's all well worth it.

Another wonderful dinner at Ciao Baby! I was excited to see the restaurant super busy. The last few times we came, it was empty. No matter how many people were here, they were still bringing out food in a timely manner and keeping tables clean. This was our first time trying the Dough Bites, and they were amazing! My fiancé loves their pizza, so we visit frequently. There's no better casual Italian spot in the area than this one!

Admittedly after walking in I asked to see the dessert menu and with a quick glance I knew I was staying for my last bite for the night. All the other restaurants around here had similar menus to the next which made it seemed almost hopeless. They were very busy. Seating seemed to be difficult with the constant flow of people sitting and enjoying their food then the employees quickly trying to turn tables for the next customer. The gentleman bussing tables did make it hard to sit for a moment after we finished our meal to enjoy. He quickly cleaned our table immediately after I had my last bite which sucked little. I saw him try to clear a table while a customer's kid still grabbing the remaining french fries from his basket of food. The waitresses were constantly moving, and I never saw them stop for a moment, waiting on customers and taking orders. Ours was so sweet.Fried peanut butter and jelly sandwich with a scoop of ice cream which called for me. And I was not disappointed. The ooey gooey PB&J with the crispy crust was delectable with a spoonful of homemade vanilla ice cream. I loved it so much that I entertain my curiosity of making fried PB and J sandwich at home.

This place has delightful butter cookies. In fact, they have many delicious varieties of baked goods as well. The Butter Pecan Cookies, for me, are where it is at though.... for real. I first came across this place at the Cooper-Young Festival some years back. I had sampled some of the edibles from Ounce of Hope tent, and the munchies had set in. As we got near her booth, I heard a lot of loud music, commotion, and I think there was even a bubble machine. The lady who owns this place is out there hooting, hollering, and legitimately screaming at people as they walked by. It was no doubt the liveliest booth at the festival. She was as pushy selling her stuff as the guy at the fair trying to guess your age and weight without the crackhead vibe. Needless to say, she got my attention. I step up and realize what she is selling. Immediately, I ask if they were as good as Makeda's, (as that is my gold standard for sugar cookies in Memphis). She quips back, "that's my Mommas place". Oh shit. Here we go!I tell her about my obsession with Makeda's and how it's part of my Orange Mound trio. It includes Makeda's, then either Paynes or Ball Hoggerz, and then a stop by Pop's Tamales on the way back. Her response.... "Oh, you know something, then". Damn right I do. Sorry for getting distracted by nostalgia of walking around CYF all high eating cookies. It's one of my favorite pass times. Needless to say, I love her, her mama, and her cookies. I stop by every chance I get. Pro Tip. There is a O.G. Central BBQ (not Kemmons Wilson owned trash) right in front of this place, and the National Civil Rights Museum is nearby as well. Pro. Pro Tip. If you are a tourist or a local, you can make a whole day of it right here and only park once. Wiseacre Brewery with Little Bettie's pizza inside is on the opposite corner. BBQ, butter cookies, history of the Lorraine Motel, local beer, and killer pizza. A Memphis dream date!'24 - 67/101

A must stop in Memphis Tn. Family owned and ran! We ordered 3 whole wings with 2 sides meal Mac and Cheese and turnip greens. The fried chicken is the best in the city if you ask meThere is plenty of seating however during peak times there maybe a wait. Parking is on the side and the back of the building. Be prepared to feel like you're at home with family, the space is filled with historical photos of the best and memorable parts of Memphis. There are two lines when you enter one for take out and one for dine in.

Wow! My northeastern taste buds were not ready! Alcenia's has really southern cooking. The fried chicken was delicious, and the Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes were gone before I could even think about it. The best part is the warm restaurant and the waitress greeting everyone with a smile. I got a kiss on the head when I sat down, and when I left I was told "you're part of the family". This is the best meal I had in Memphis!

So I'm not the world's biggest ice cream fan, but this is a usual go to for weekend deserts. I forget what they call it, and yes, they've ripped off Jerry's, but it's kind of nice not to have to head to an area of town where a Kevlar vest isn't at least a passing consideration. Honestly, their soft-serve ice cream is my favorite as I'm not a fruit-flavored (or other pure sweet) kind of desert guy. And to be even more risqué, the (yes, I'm a white guy who's about to decry his preference for vanilla soft-serve ice cream) vanilla soft-serve ice cream is my pick. It appears to be a host of high school or college kids who staff the joint, and, to a small degree, they restore my faith in the youth of America (with such unheard of things such as courtesy, hospitality, and focus exhibited by younger millennials) (which is better than the older millennials, of which I may or may not be one, who used to get high in the freezer of Jersey Mike's in the same shopping center some 20 years ago, but I digress) (two parentheticals ago, this chunk of text was supposed be be complimentary of the staff, but nonetheless it turned in to a curmudgeonly missive about the youth of America...people used to tell me I was a good writer, ironically). Here's the burrows lead- freakshakes and ice cream nachos. Freakshakes are enough to give a Clydesdale instant diabetes, but if you want all of the variations on the concept of sweet/sugary, this would be your dish. A unique concept, though not reinventing the wheel but taking a highly divergent approach on a traditional desert, is the ice cream nachos. Think ice cream cone pieces in place of chips; think ice cream fixings for toppings. The novelty alone is worth the price of admission. So in sum, yeah, it's ice cream. But it's good ice cream, and maybe it's better than ice cream because of the novel approach that they bring to it.

"Absolute delight find. I didn't expect this place to have sushi and have been to two others around the area in search of finding a great neighborhood sushi spot; the others were let downs, so search continued, and this place was on the list. Learned my lesson from the last ones to check the menu out, which had some variety. Not all California rolls with other toppings. Sooo much better than the other places I've tried in the area, and I will be a regular. Super fresh. Great cuts and presentation, super friendly staff. The sushi chef seems to truly like his craft & hospitality. They can only serve beer on the adult beverages which is a bummer but everything else here is really great sushi and service wise."
"I'm so glad I was finally able to try this place on August 31st, 2024. It wasn't busy when my friend and I walked in. The place was really clean and shiny. The two workers that were there help us with any questions that we have. My friend and I decided to get the galactic milkshake. The Galactic Milkshake is absolutely beautiful to look out and also delicious to drink for a sunny day."
"For a party of 12, we had amazing service. I wish I could remember the name of our waitress, because she was awesome! The servings were a little smaller than I expected, but everything tasted good. The scallops were really good, and I would definitely order again!"
"Phenomenal service and great tasting, FRESH food. The shop was really cute too. They have so much to offer. From freshly made ice cream, to all the fried confections, to dipped apples and strawberries. It's all amazing. The two ladies there tonight were super sweet and cared about each order. It was a busy one tonight! Prices were on point if not lower than I expected. Keep it up!!"
"Cinco de Mayo Mexican restaurant is just off of Interstate 40 and was convenient to my hotel. The service was decent, but unfortunately, the food was mediocre. The Nashville, Tennessee area has some fantastic Mexican restaurant, unfortunately, this is not one of them.I went with one of their burritos. I've had burritos all over, this was okay. Unfortunately, that seems to be the theme of this restaurant, it is just okay. Is not very authentic and even for Americanized Mexican food, it is still not very good.Sadly, I cannot recommend this establishment. It was not terrible, but results are not very good. As I said, Nashville, Tennessee has some fantastic Mexican restaurants. Check one of them out before coming here."
"This place is good. Tried them based on a friend's recommendation and I can't lie it was really good. The fish and chicken was cooked fresh to order. The fried pickles were a little greasy but tasted amazing also. Overall I would go back and try a different spice level."
"I order Uber Eats and this was by far some of the best Mexican food I've ever had. I knew once I tasted the salsa, the food was going to be good. I give this place 5 stars and will visit the restaurant soon and often. The portions were great and the prices are amazing. I'm hooked."
"Man do I love Makeda's Cookies! I have been hitting this place up for years and not once have I ever been disappointed. These are seriously the best sugar cookies in Memphis. Followed only by her daughters place downtown, but these are my favorite, and this location is super convenient for me to get to. The people that I have met with when shopping for the best damn cookies have always been super nice. I hate what happened here, happened... it did, and I was not sure if they would reopen. I am so glad that they did.One day I am going to have to venture out and get some other things besides the sugar cookies. They are like drugs though; I cannot stop thinking about them!"
"Best coffee, lemon and blueberry muffins warm and good, and the potato casserole is yummy. Cute space and nice staff too!"
"This was PHENOMENAL. This was one of the best salads I've ever had and HUGE. There's nothing worse than paying $15 for a salad, just for it to be skimpy, but that is NOT the case with Zachary's. My friend got a salad as well and hers was just as big.My partner got the wrap and loved it!Ambiance on a Friday night was like a sports bar/grill and service was nice! A bit slow but I didn't mind."
"So good. They have definitely hit their stride. These cookies are perfection incarnate."
"This place is quickly becoming one of my favorite fried chicken places here in beautiful, family friendly, crime free, Memphis TN!It's got a seasoning that is unlike any other of the other cayenne heavy batters/sauces that are so familiar to me. The skin is crispy, light, and damn near perfect. The meat itself is amazingly juicy and so freaking full of flavor. It's really good! There is some kind of magic happening in that weird little kitchen as far as the chicken is concerned. I have never actually seen anyone frying chicken, but somehow it's always hot and stupid fresh. I suspect some ancient Korean Shamanism possibly. More on that later...The sides however need a blessing from something.... I have yet to find one that lives up to the chicken hype. Mac & Cheese was an extremely large nope. I'm not even sure wtf that was. Cheese dip, maybe??!! Fries are standard and just ok. Mashed potatoes are the best side, but really aren't that good. The little uniform bits of potato throws me way off. The folks working here cannot possibly be real. I have no way of expressing myself that will succinctly describe the voice and mannerisms of every person that I have spoken to. Some may say I do too many drugs, but I swear these folks are aliens or bots from the future sent to save you from mediocre chicken. Take note, future Adam.... I do love this fried chicken...'24 - 98/101"
"Always a satisfactory last minute choice. Perfect for a late-night drunken craving. Plus the staff is friendly & efficient."
"Amazing sandwiches (I only had one actually, but really wish I could have tried more). I had The Poorest of Boys, and it was enough to let me know that they have mastered the panini press. The sandwich was hearty, and as someone who never looks to go out for sandwiches, had me considering driving from Arrington to Columbia again, but I didn't have time. :( The daily soup I got as a side was amazing too. Tastes very homemade, and I would be shocked if there was any significant processing behind them. Owners and all the employees were super friendly. Plenty of counter bar seating in addition to small tables and some booths. As someone visiting from California, I would consider this a must eat on my next trip."
"Good food and nice helpful friendly waitress. My wife and I enjoy eating their food. We plan to have lunch there while shopping in Paducah."
"This place has some great food, ice cream and coffee! My daughter is very picky and found multiple things she enjoyed!"
"Clean establishment. Food was pretty good. The beef was slightly tough. didn't ask what the two bottles of sauces were but one had a good kick to it. We shared the special mix and I had the house crafted tea. The tea didn't appeal to me at all. I'd come back to try other items on the menu."
"Best cookies I've EVER HAD! And I bake and buy a lot of cookies. My sister ordered us some and I had to hide them from my family members (and still managed to eat a whole tin in two days). Just made french toast with Ricki's chocolate challah and wow."
"Walked in and waited a good 10-15 minutes before anyone came out of the back to ask us what we wanted. When someone finally came out, you order at the register in the front. Service was very slow and we had to ask for several items that never came out (like the water for the kids, our side of fries, the ranch on my dish and the bread pudding that I ordered). The portions were very small for "soul food" but it was pretty good. The bread pudding was very bland and was drenched in some sort of oil or melted "butter". Overall, I think it was good but I wouldn't be back next time I'm in town. Nice to try once though."
"Love their bbq nachos! I always try not to eat the whole plate but it's nearly impossible! Chips, Beans, bbq, piping hot queso and bbq sauce. What's not to love?! Perfection."
"Always nice and professional.. Good Treats. Staff always willing to help and make special request come true."
