"I chose Cheddars for a belated b'day dinner for myself & will not be going back. My server Cameron was ok, but certainly nothing to brag about. He took my food order & left the table w/out taking my drink order & had to come back for that.I already knew what I wanted when he finally came to the table due to him being a bit slow. I was early as far as dinner goes, it was about 4:30 when I arrived. I chose the chicken tenders & fried shrimp combo w/a loaded baked potato & side salad. The reason I chose this dinner was due to the chicken tenders I'd had in the past, & was expecting so much more than what I rec'd. My past experience had been large juicy, steaming hot tenders w/a wonderful honey mustard sauce. That was NOT the case this time. Let's start w/the plate, it's shrunk since I visited before. The tenders were skinny, mostly batter, dry & actually chewy?? The honey mustard was loaded w/spicy dijon mustard now, not a fan. The shrimp were overcooked, rubbery and not especially hot when they arrived. Not to the loaded baked potato. It was warm, NOT hot, and it was also overcooked to the point lots of potato was stuck to the skin. They charged $1.00 more for bacon, & no more than they put on it I shd hv made them take that off the bill. AND, it was SO SMALL it wld hv fit in the palm of my hand. The best tasting item I had was the ranch dressing. Ridiculous to think that's the best thing I consumed while there. Not wasting my time or money on them again."

Yes, of course I her for sharing with me! She also got the Honey-Glazed Broccoli, which was phenomenal. And that's coming from a guy who normally skips the vegetables and goes right for the meat. This side dish is simple, and yet executed with perfection. Charred and a little sweet with the light glaze, and cooked perfectly.The owners are a great team, running a great business and clearly having fun at it. And they make the experience of being a customer fun too.I can't say enough about what a great experience we had at The Candied Rib Company. My salad came in a nice sized bowl, with tomato, cheese, and hard-boiled eggs. It was topped with fried chicken but the coating on the chicken was thinner than I expected. Still tasty though. The rest of the table had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and gravy and Texas toast. The Texas toast could have used some butter. The batter on the chicken fried steak was perfectly done, light and crispy. Everyone at the table raved about the gravy.Sweet tea was...really sweet. I had the unsweetened tea, which i enjoyed. They offer a half sweet and half unsweet mix if you ask for it. I had the buttermilk pie, which is basically a chess pie. It was one of the best chess pies I've had on this trip.Bathrooms were super clean, which is important to me.Bottom line, this is southern comfort food, done right. Highly recommend if you're ever out this way."

The chicken tenders were so juicy with a nice crisp on the outside and had amazing sauce to dip it in. When I head back to the West Coast, I'm gonna be dreaming of this plate right here. If you happen to be staying in Memphis or happen to be driving through, I highly recommend you trying a plate here. The staff is great, it's a nice little hole in the wall kind of joint. The ambience is nice as well, but the food was fantastic, talking about my experience is making me hungry all over again!I highly recommend!"

"We were starving so we decided to try this place out. Boy We should have known due to the limited people dining that this place was not good. When you think of diner this is not the place. Limit food choices here. This place is very slow, there is a limit use of activity that goes on. My coworker order chicken wings from the menu but was told only chicken strips were served as wings. Crazy right! I was expecting the place to smell like a restaurant but no it didn't. Also there were dirty dishes left on the tables that were not in use. The restroom wasn't the best might I add. My coworker told the waitress the toilet was broken and she was instructed to stick her hand in the back of the bowl to pull the flap to flush the toilet. Yuck. I don't think I'll ever be back if I'm ever here again."

"Excellent " off the beaten path " find for Memphis area travelers looking for soul food. This family establishment has a real down home feel and the food is great. I had catfish and a side of fried chicken livers (couldn't resist) with rich white beans and ham, juicy turnip greens, jalapeño cornbread and an Arnold Palmer in a giant mason jar. The place was packed on an early Saturday eve but the 15 min wait for a table was worth it. Then the 20 min wait for the food was worth it too. The servers were all attentive, affable and helpful. My dinning neighbors friendly. Come hungry and with enough time to slow down to a more "Southern" speed. It's a popular place and really the only restaurant for miles. One thing I couldn't help but notic was the demographic. It was 99.9% white. I felt a bit sad there wasn't a better representative mix of folk in the area, but I guess it was the lay of the land and due to a fair number of confederate flags on neighborhood porches. A shame IMHYO. This food would warm the hearts of us all. I do believe that's why they call it "Soul Food. "I'll definitely be routing back here again!"

What struck me initially was the portion size - only one piece of catfish, which was below average in size. While the sides were decently portioned, the main dish left a bit to be desired.The catfish and okra were disappointingly dry and chewy, lacking the crispiness and tenderness that I look for in fried southern classics. The mac n cheese was sadly watery and thin, however the chicken, broccoli and rice casserole was solid, and of course the sweet tea was sweet! Service was stellar, as you would expect at a southern joint.While my first go was a bit underwhelming, I am comitted to stopping back by for another round of meats and veggies...as I don't give up on a good southern spot so easily!"

Hash was meh but I was not looking for anything shocking. The biscuit was fantastic ( I ordered 2 more) I got the coffee and milk cold brew. It was good. Two of my guests loved the Vietnamese coffee ( very sweet) one enjoyed a scramble bowl and said it was like a deconstructed omelette with biscuit. The other got Avocado toast and loved it. I was struck by the very generous serving and vibrant colors. My wife got the bacon and French toast, it looked fantastic and she loved every bite. Her greatest joy was the little kick the bacon had with a sweet finish. My son is the odd duck fried chicken and fries with hot chocolate. He ate everything and said he enjoyed it but honestly he was more about the table of toys they had out to keep waiting kids occupied. All in all great choice, 5 star for breakfast or brunch. Great and attentive service! Highly recommend.Total spend before tip for five was 98 bucks but we were all very satisfied and left happy."

I was very surprised and impressed to see Ramen on the menu so I ordered the chicken Raman. And it was absolutely amazing. This is my third time eating here and so far this has been my favorite how different it is than something normal. PLEASE KEEP THE RAMAN ON THE MENU! The only thing I could say that was neutral or negative to me, was the live band playing I get it something different and out of the ordinary but we didn't like it, they were loud and we had to yell to communicate with each other and to the waitress.
