Julia S. "I have been to Flying Fish in Bentonville, AR and had a great time but the experience in Memphis seemed more fun and memorable. Maybe it's because I was dining with someone who loves food adventures just as much as I do.I love they have the flying fish mounted on the walls that helps create a very casual and carefree ambience. I would not come here for an intimate date but for fun, casual dining experience with family or friends, a group, or with someone that loves Cajun comfort food. There's a cost of flow of people aka line worthy restaurant. We luckily arrived before the dinner rush, which meant we had a smaller line to wait. After we ordered food and the cashier gave us a buzzer from when the food is ready, but the wait was short. The employees were very helpful and generous in keeping customers happy with the condiments for everyone's meal and willingness to help a customer choose what to get off their menu.I had ordered and shared the following items and honestly, we could have purchased more but we were too happy with what we had ordered. Next time, we'll order more and perhaps try other options.- Cajun Platter( served with rice, fried gator, crawfish jambalaya, and 2 pairs of frog legs),Before tonight, my wife swore that she did not like frog legs due to her belief. it was too much work for the amount of meat on the bones. Now, she believes that frog legs are pretty yummy with the legs here being tender and fall off the bone delish. The fried gator was so tender and delicious, and we savored every bite. We did add hot sauce to our crawfish jambalaya because it enhanced the deliciousness and we try not to eat it too fast to avoid the disappointment of it being gone.- Additional items/ sides( coleslaw, hush puppies, and pickled green tomatoesWe enjoyed each of our sides, but coleslaw was a little bland in our opinion. We needed to add salt and pepper to give it a little umph."

The spinach madeleine was good, but had a lot of cream. This place can be casual, but also a nice spot for a special occasion!"

Mathew S. "(Placeholder) What hasn't already been said about Kelly English's standard bearer? The food is the best in Memphis, the staff the best in Memphis, the environment and decor exceptional (hard to say the best in Memphis' when the canvas is shopping center architecture rather than, say an intimate 11 table house just off Overton Square...).There's nothing below 'remarkable' on the menu. It's also fantastic to see the chef make the rounds during service- I don't know if this is 5-star practice, a Kelly English thing, or New Orleans practice, but it speaks to the regard that staff has for its clientele (what commenting to our waitress about the booming septuagenarian gas bag that seemed to be the marshal of a party of 6 at a table across the way, our server apologized for the vociferousness of one of their 'usual patrons'. At first, I wished that she would have lambasted human Foghorn Leghorn; upon reflection, it's kind of remarkable she'd stick up for the guy, so, props; but still, quiet down, Boomer)."

Our server was INCREDIBLE. The food was excellent! We started with an Angel's Envy Old Fashioned and a Watermelon Blueberry lemonade with Tito's Vodka. Then we ordered the fried green tomatoes, which came dressed with arugula, candied bacon, and blistered cherry tomatoes. Then we ordered the Redfish (of course if you know any Brennan's restaurant) and the Pasta Jambalaya. We were so full we took our Key Lime Pie to go! Thanks to our server Jason for being so friendly and helpful. Even the French bread and butter were wonderful!"

We found out experience there to be pretty good. The wait staff was great. Kept an eye on us in case we needed anything, but also left us alone to marvel at the distinct flavor rushes. Now here's the deal. It's a Cajun restaurant. Some people will post a poor or bad review simply because they have ruined their taste buds from smoking or what-not. Some, probably most, will appreciate the incredible Cajun flavors, like us.All I can say is...try them. Even if you hate Cajun, you'll still enjoy the experience and easy atmosphere.God bless and Thank You for reading this review."

When we came to Murray for my daughter's orientation, it was HIGHLY recommended by students and locals alike, so we tried it. OH. MY. GAWD. I told my kid I hopes she likes my face, cause I'm coming for the food alone. Excellent food. Super nice staff, crawfish poboy was SO GOOD, serving size is ginormous, and the DRINKS?! Add the ambiance of this place (honey bar and grill with great decorations) and you can't lose with this place."

Both entrees were huge and packed with flavor. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the spices were tasty. The fries were crispy on the outside too. The servers were kind, and so were the bar tenders. The second half of the restaurant is a bar and is a great place to have a drink while waiting for food. Their drink pack a punch too! There are numerous tables inside and out as well. David H. "This place is simply amazing! If I could give it 10 stars I would. The menu on the wall behind the registers is simply humongous! There are so many items to choose from that it was difficult to make a choice. This Cajun style eatery has some of the best Cajun food I've had anywhere based on the two times I visited it during the two days I was in town.On the first night, I got the fried catfish and the coleslaw side. The catfish was cornmeal battered just like I like and the fish pieces were thin and perfectly seasoned so there was a lot of flavor per bite. The coleslaw was really good as well and had more than just cabbage in it.The next day for lunch, I got the fried shrimp Poboy and the waffle fries. The Poboy bun was exactly what you would expect with a Cajun Poboy. The bread had the crispy flaky exterior with the soft inside. The shrimp was a good size, perfectly seasoned and battered. I got the side of waffle fries, which rival Chick-fil-A's waffle fries. If I were staying in town longer, I would probably go there every day and try something new off of the menu. Everything is so good!"

Doug G. "Brewhouse West is definitely a locals spot, without question and I can truly see why the locals love this place! We recently moved to the area and Brewhouse came highly recommended as a good place for a beer and some solid bar food. The beer is top notch in selection and price, the food part needs a little work.Brewhouse West is a no frills, local, dive/sports joint where the locals of all sorts come to have a strong cocktail, local beer, cheap burger, saucy wings or even some fried alligator...all while catching the game on one of the many TV's throughout the place. One thing that immediately attracted us to Brewhouse, outside of the location to our house, was their ALL DAY HAPPY HOUR! It is legit an all day thing with specials on cocktails, wine and beer! At some points of the night and on the weekends, you can get up to 50% off of your beverages...so, sign me up! We have been here a few times now and each time dined and drank in the main dining room/bar area. They do have a more private side room and a covered back patio as well. I look forward to the warmer months, as I was told they have great patio vibes and live music on certain nights out back! Parking is not an issue here. They have a few VIP spots up front, but if you are not lucky enough to scoop one of these up then they have a large lot in the back. Each time we have visited we usually just stick to the beer menu, which features all the classics, but also a rotating local tap. I am hooked on the Mayday Boro Blonde Ale! Food wise, they serve up a mix of classic bar food as well as Mexican and Creole inspired dishes. We have sampled a few things from the menu including the Chicken Club Wrap, Patty Melt and the famed Chipotle BBQ wings. The wrap has been hit and miss, as the first visit it was perfection, however on the second time in it was not put together very well and did not have a good ratio of chicken, cheese to lettuce. The patty melt was tough, as in tough to get through. I do not want to say the burger and bread were stale, but they definitely spent more time under the heat lamp than they should have. On the flip side, the wings were excellent! They were tender, perfectly smoked and absolutely coated in the chipotle bbq sauce...and then you dip them in that spicy ranch, boyyyyyyyyy!!! Service has been solid. You can tell they are understaffed right now, as is everywhere, but they are handling it quite well. The servers have been helpful, friendly and done a great job! Overall, I enjoy Brewhouse West for what it is! It is not on the top of my culinary recommendations list for Nashville, but it definitely sits close to the top for local divey-sports bars with excellent happy hours!"

Laura F. "A hidden gem from most people in Central AR, but if you know, you know. We went with 7 of our son's friends plus our son and the two of us. We went on a Saturday night. They do not take reservations, but they were very eager to help get us in as quickly as possible. We arrived at 5:30 and put our name on the list. We were seated around 6:30 - which a one hour wait on a Saturday night with 10 people isn't bad at all. There is room inside to wait but it's pretty crowded on a weekend so bundle up if you want to stand outside or just go to your car. When we were seated, the waiter was awesome. He wasn't frustrated by a large table of people. They weren't annoyed at having to pull tables together for us either. The food was amazing. Huge portions too. Even these college boys had leftovers to take home. I got the bacon wrapped shrimp which was delicious and the rice was great. I love their hush puppies. One of the boys got a shrimp po boy and it looked like the closest thing to the original I've seen outside of New Orleans. The bread was the original bread and the sandwich was huge and stuffed with plenty of shrimp. The service never wavered. They brought bread pudding for my son's birthday. Again, it was as good as any I've ever had in NOLA. Honestly, the prices are reasonable too. For 10 of us (all drinking water and 2 orders of Boudin Balls appetizers), our total bill with tip was less than $300. Good luck finding that price for that level of food and service in Little Rock. The atmosphere is rustic just as you'd want a Cajun restaurant to be. Oh, the Cajun Sirloin steak is massive. It's also the main reason our son asks to go there for his birthday."

Considering it was cajun style seafood, I was honestly expecting sticky floors and a fishy smell but you get none of that, instead you get greeting friendly and seated in one of the many tables or booths. It's fun because it has the write on the walls type vibe to the place so it's super casual. The menu is pretty simple and you get a good amount of food, but being from Texas, I am so glad for the seasonings that they use. It brought me back to what I hoped it would taste like and it did! I give props to people who can splurge for the king crab combo but their snow crabs are just as tasty. We're a fan!"

The food is pretty much just as good as the previous location. We come here for the crawfish of course and the J3's seasoning is on point with the owners special sauce. We usually have the J3 + Hot which is very flavorful and has a bit of a heat to it. I got the J3 Cajun Seafood bag which consisted of lobster, snow crab, king crab, and shrimp, It comes with corn, potato and sausage as well. Everything was seasoned just right. The staff was very friendly and our waiter was on top of everything. He changed out our trays we had for our shells like 3 times so it wouldn't overflow.
