"Ok, we were visiting Nashville and while planning our trip, this place popped up everywhere, in every recommendation. So we went, and it was good. But I do not see what all the the fuss is about. We all (3) agreed that the lemon blueberry was the best flavor."
"This is one of my favorite bakeries in the country... no exaggeration at all!!The Oreo, Prozac, key lime pie, pecan pie, chicken pot pie, and quiche are my favs!!!"
"If there's ONE thing to get here.... it's without question the cinnamon roll.I had breakfast...I asked for crispy bacon but since my over medium egg's whites were not done, they had to redo them and I ended up getting new bacon too...kinda limp..But I got this giant cinnamon roll and it took all my sadness away.It was THEEEEEE best cinnamon roll I've ever tasted - I shared with my table mates and had plenty more left for me.It was so tasty, the eggs the 2nd time around were cooked properly and the has browns and bacon were just ok... (1 star removed).Had it not been for that big beautiful cinnamon roll, I'd easily be at a 3.But I'd come back and give them another shot."
"A very friendly establishment......cookie quality was great! I wish they could have more of a coffee shop experience!"
"Bain BBQ is one of my all around favorite places in the area. They make the best beef BBQ in the City of Memphis and the closest thing you will find to Texas BBQ within 100 miles! I'll move away if you can prove me wrong!!! Loser leave town style! I'll just move to Dyersburg and be able to eat at Blake Stokers place. The brisket here is fucking fantastic! In fact, it's so good I struggle to even try anything else. I've put off writing a review here because I am so stuck and can't really offer any diversity in advice other than the brisket and the pastrami, which are essentially the same except for the pre-smoke production. I keep saying I'm going to get some ribs, pulled pork, sausages, and some of the other beautiful things I've seen behind the magic meat counter. But no.... I can't even think straight when I walk in man. bR1Zki7!Heather is a doll, just love her personality! I have not met her worser half, Bryant, on my visits. I am sure he is in the kitchen, where a man should be!!It's in a cool little old house in Cooper Young and has all the quirks you can imagine a restahouse would have. I dig it though. It's my kind of place!! It does give them some slight hell on maintenance. I did notice they are evolving lately. Lots of new items on the menu, which obviously I have not tried. LOL. I think they changed the sauce formulas, I love the hot one now! They changed the beans and I absolutely HATE IT! Boo!! Hiss!! I had some terrible Mac and cheese a while back, I hope it's better now, but I won't be falling for that shit again. I guess I'll just eat more protein and no sides. Maybe that way I can get around to he other meats. '24 - 49/100"
"I'm so glad I was finally able to try this place on August 31st, 2024. It wasn't busy when my friend and I walked in. The place was really clean and shiny. The two workers that were there help us with any questions that we have. My friend and I decided to get the galactic milkshake. The Galactic Milkshake is absolutely beautiful to look out and also delicious to drink for a sunny day."
"Great stop as you're walking on Main Street. Check out the flavors and combinations on the wall or make your own. The waffle bowls and cones are delicious, and they make them fresh. There are many options to choose from. You can definitely get a sugar rush and all of your calorie intake for the day with a stop here. There's some seating right outside the doors or you can enjoy it outside along the walkway."
"We haven't been in years and it has changed a little bit. Pasties were amazing just like I remembered. Loved the Halloween themed cakes!"
"I have been meaning to stop by here and finally had the chance. So glad I did!Very cute shop. Lots of options and great customer service'Had their iced coffee which was great and my S.O. had a cortado and was a fan. Also got a peach scone, however didn't realize till I left that it was blueberry. But didn't really matter because it was delicious and one of the best scones I've had in awhile. Definitely have to stop in for lunch."
"After visiting an exhibit at the Botanic Gardens, a group of us headed to 17Berkshire for afternoon tea. I am not a sweets person. Love candy, but desserts and the like have never been a fav. That said, I loved the food and experience! At $35 per person, each food set up includes tea sandwiches, scones, and assorted pastries. The scones were nothing to write home about but everything else made me sing. I don't recall ever trying a macaron and even if I did, it was only once. I'm glad I gave them a try during our visit because I found my new treat. To drink, we opted for the Heavenly Cream, Rouge Provence, and Chai teas. I had the latter two and both were amazing. The space is small but the windows make for great people watching on the square. The only downside to our experience was the wait time, and that was beyond anyone's control. We had a reservation but only one person was working, so she had to help every customer on her own. Keeping that in mind, please be patient with the staff"
"So good. They have definitely hit their stride. These cookies are perfection incarnate."
"Great hole in the wall with lovely bakery items and quality food. We had the chilaquiles with carne asada and took a couple of pastries home. I waited to write this review until I could eat one, and it didn't disappoint. This is a family owned spot, making me like it even more. Friendly staff and great service!"

Maple Glaze Doughnut: Five Daughters Bakery is a family business in Franklin, Tennessee. The bakery is owned and operated by the Meek Family, which includes their five daughters. Their signature item is known as the 100 Layer Donut, which is a hybrid of a croissant and a donut (basically their version of a Cronut). 100 Layer Donuts take up to three days to make and once cooked, they're rolled in sugar, filled with cream, and topped with a heavenly glaze. Seven staple flavors are offered year-round along with limited time flavors that change from month to month. Unfortunately, I could not visit the bakery myself, but my parents were nice enough to bring me some doughnuts after visiting my brother in Nashville. The Maple Glaze Doughnut is rolled in sugar, infused with vanilla buttercream, and topped with maple glaze dusted with cinnamon. Taking my first bite I was immediately impressed by the thickness of the doughnut and how sweet the maple glaze was. Texturally, the outside of the doughnut is crisp and sweet while the interior is chewier. After my second bite, I encountered plenty of vanilla buttercream lurking inside the pastry. I'm a tough customer when it comes to doughnuts that are supposed to be "packed" with filling and are not (Stan's), but it's safe to say Five Daughters Bakery knows what they're doing. The vanilla butter cream is a little difficult to see in pictures because of the light color, but trust me, there's plenty of it. Their buttercream frosting was incredibly rich and reminded me almost of butter. It does balance out nicely with the super sweet maple flavor though.Doughboy approved.*Also, great customer service. I emailed them a question about nutritional information and not only did they provide me with it, but they also replied the same day (Thanks Ronnie Meek!). Unlike other businesses that sometimes take weeks to respond (The Cheesecake Factory).Doughboy_Food_Reviews

My son and I were at St. Jude headed to his last appointment, and a kind man gave us these shortbread frosted clover and rainbow cookies from his volunteer cart. I graciously took them expecting these beautiful cookies to taste hard and bland, but no! These were buttery, crumbly and delicious! Had to be homemade !! It immediately it up his face !

First stop after a red eye flight was Flat Tire Diner. Highly rated and popular with the local folks. Ordered pork chop and eggs and country fried steak and eggs. Both were okay but nothing to rave about. Service was good and very friendly and kept the coffee warm. Ambiance was clean and airy and bright. The apple compote on my pork chop was a bit sweet and to cover up the dry, lean pork chop.

This place has delightful butter cookies. In fact, they have many delicious varieties of baked goods as well. The Butter Pecan Cookies, for me, are where it is at though.... for real. I first came across this place at the Cooper-Young Festival some years back. I had sampled some of the edibles from Ounce of Hope tent, and the munchies had set in. As we got near her booth, I heard a lot of loud music, commotion, and I think there was even a bubble machine. The lady who owns this place is out there hooting, hollering, and legitimately screaming at people as they walked by. It was no doubt the liveliest booth at the festival. She was as pushy selling her stuff as the guy at the fair trying to guess your age and weight without the crackhead vibe. Needless to say, she got my attention. I step up and realize what she is selling. Immediately, I ask if they were as good as Makeda's, (as that is my gold standard for sugar cookies in Memphis). She quips back, "that's my Mommas place". Oh shit. Here we go!I tell her about my obsession with Makeda's and how it's part of my Orange Mound trio. It includes Makeda's, then either Paynes or Ball Hoggerz, and then a stop by Pop's Tamales on the way back. Her response.... "Oh, you know something, then". Damn right I do. Sorry for getting distracted by nostalgia of walking around CYF all high eating cookies. It's one of my favorite pass times. Needless to say, I love her, her mama, and her cookies. I stop by every chance I get. Pro Tip. There is a O.G. Central BBQ (not Kemmons Wilson owned trash) right in front of this place, and the National Civil Rights Museum is nearby as well. Pro. Pro Tip. If you are a tourist or a local, you can make a whole day of it right here and only park once. Wiseacre Brewery with Little Bettie's pizza inside is on the opposite corner. BBQ, butter cookies, history of the Lorraine Motel, local beer, and killer pizza. A Memphis dream date!'24 - 67/101

Still just as good as we remembered, but a heads-up for anyone visiting: we looked at a menu online before heading in, and when we got there, the prices and options were a bit different with the platters. It threw us off a bit, I took a photo of the menu in person so maybe double check that before you go. (If youre a plan your meal ahead kinda person)One cool thing we learned is that the Texas Twinkie is actually considered a side when you order the platters, which was a nice surprise. And let me just say, those things were fantastic! Last time i had one it was way too hot for me, but this time it had only a little bit of spice, so i was able to enjoy it more. The sausage was also a hit--flavorful and perfectly cooked. The ribs, though tasty, were a bit underwhelming with the amount of meat on them. But they still had that great BBQ flavor, so no complaints there.Overall, still a great spot! AND, they have a point system now where every $2 you spend you get 1 point..and every 50 points you get $5 off. So pretty psyched for that now too! I would absolutely love them to bring the koloches back though. I really miss having a good koloche close by. fingers crossed!

This review is tricky. I love my ice cream, you know this, but like the name suggests, this is more desert bar than ice cream parlor. Beware getting your treat after a meal...you've been warned. Boasting coffee, cheesecake, ice cream sandwiches, gourmet milkshakes, around 8 ice cream choices and around 6 cookie dough options your sweet tooth WILL be satisfied! Laid back and brightly colored, the venue was cool with brick walls and simple decor. There was plenty of seating and a full staff of gals eager to help and allow you to taste just about anything. Our group of 10 got everything from a huge slice of cheesecake, to a Cookie Monster milkshake (diabetes in a jar we named it) and of course ice cream WITH cookie dough. For me it was cookies and cream ice cream with three yes THREE cookie dough selections (chocolate chip, butter cookie, and red velvet). At the End of the Day it is RARE, for desert to get the better of me. The gals here beat me! The ice cream and dough selections was just too much for my stomach to hold and I tip my hat to them. Had I had a little more time to ask questions and explore my options this could easily be a five star review and believe it WILL be on my next visit!

This was my first time here and I enjoyed my treat. The only complaint I have is that it can be a little congested because it's a very small space. I ordered the Coliseum in a waffle cup knowing i wasn't going to eat it all but I couldn't resist!

Mmmm! When I am in Memphis, I float over here with my boyfriend. We love getting a breakfast croissant (bacon, egg and cheese). It just hits the spot. I love their London fog and the boyfriend gets a drip coffee. Everyone is always so friendly and they greet us when we enter. I love that there is the bakery and ordering area then another side to sit, relax and eat. There is even a great view of the Eiffel Tower (see pictures *wink*). We also purchased some take away flavored breads that did not last long among friends and family!

"Cupcake cutie was the perfect ending to a great outing these Hugh cupcakes was simply delicious I had the pleasure of enjoying the chocolate on chocolate and lije I said simply delicious"
"Best cookies I've EVER HAD! And I bake and buy a lot of cookies. My sister ordered us some and I had to hide them from my family members (and still managed to eat a whole tin in two days). Just made french toast with Ricki's chocolate challah and wow."
"Guys. This place is a hidden gem. Within this hidden gem is an even cooler hidden gem: the brown butter Krispy treat. OH. My. Word. I don't have adequate words to tell you just how incredible this treat is but please believe me it is worth its own entire review. You know what? Don't take my word for it. GO GET THE TREAT. Seriously. Treat yourself. It's warm and gooey and *sumptuous* and is 100% worth a trip to check it out. YOLO, ya know?! I also ate it so fast that I don't have photographic evidence of this wonderful dessert but do believe me -- I will be back. I will take a photo before indulging. And I can't wait to share it with you. (The photo. Not the dessert. Because I will not share that!)"
"I alway have a great and nice experience here. This is my 2nd go to breakfast spot. Very popular on Saturdays for breakfast.Service be quick and food is cooked to order..stop by and grab you some breakfast today"
"We ate today at a fantastic restaurant in downtown Clarkdale MS (who woulda thunk). The Dutch Oven has panini's, salads, soups and plenty of other varieties to keep you pleasantly stuffed. The deserts look like State Fair winners, and they are heavenly tasting as well. The owner and wait staff are friendly, efficient and focused on customer satisfaction and cleanliness. Oddly enough, there's a lot to see in a historic Mississippi Delta town. Of course, I was moving slowly since I was stuffed with great food. Be sure to visit if you are near Clarksdale, in Memphis, or anywhere in the Northwest Delta. I promise you, you will be astounded by the quality of food and service!"
"Always nice and professional.. Good Treats. Staff always willing to help and make special request come true."
"As you guys know all my reviews are 100% honest. I tried this place for the first time today. I got the soup and sandwich combo with a cookie. I got queso soup and a bacon pickle grilled cheese. As you guys can probably tell cheese is one of my favorites. Anyway, the soup, the soup was amazing! I highly recommend it. And the grilled cheese se is as one of the best I've had so far. I even got the same thing to go which I normally don't do if you guys read my other reviews. But I figured if I get hungry later it'd be nice to have. I highly recommend this restaurant and the staff is very friendly"
"I see this cute cupcake place quite frequently on facebook, they show very pretty and nicely decorated cupcakes and celebration cakes. A couple gluten free options as well. It was the end of the day when we arrived. Employees were peppy and friendly. Of course not many cup cakes left. Cute open air display. We were able to get the chocolate cheese cake, M&M's cupcake and a gluten free Marti Gras... want to try again, next time and we will come early. The icing is quite very different...Ice cream we tried was the puppy chow (cute name) and the red velvet...yummy."
"Such a friendly staff! Food is very good. Plenty of options. (From main course to side items cold and hot) You can order full cakes and pies as well. Cafeteria style dining. Very hometown feel to it. Would definitely recommend. Prices are more than reasonable."

"A little local restaurant that we stumbled upon while passing through. We loved both of our dishes and the price was great! You order at the counter, then they bring bf your food out to you. Super fast and very friendly staff!"
"Jaybear is such a neat little place. It's not an ordinary bake shop. Everything is about appearance and presentation. It's super clean and super cool. I sampled a few things and it was all delicious! Donuts, cupcakes, candied apples, and even cake pops. What really got my attention was the Cookie Monster cupcake. They also serve breakfast! Right next to Mojo's, what a way to complement an amazing burger than with an amazing sweet? I think her name was Jamie. She was super sweet. I'd been working in a mud puddle an hour earlier, and stupid me, I'd forgotten all about it and when I looked down at her floor, I felt so bad. It didn't matter at all to her. She was just glad she'd made a friend. Check it out. You'll love it!"
"Had a sweet touch on a Friday night and wanted cake! This cute little spot is snuggled in between a Mexican and Asian restaurant. The inside is so cute and has sooo many options. There was one single boy taking orders and getting the cakes! He was very nice! I got two cupcakes. The strawberry and the yellow cake with chocolate butter cream, a gooey cookie and a regular cookie. It all was under $20! I ate one of the cupcakes when i got home and omg, it was so moist! The moistest cake I'd ever had! The flavors were there!!! I ate the 2nd cupcake the next day and it was still sooo moist! Will def be back for more cakes. They even had little dog cake treats which i thought was cute!"
"BACON BREAD!!!Everything is made fresh daily and is delicious!!! Cakes, muffins, squares, pastries, breads and chocolates. What a find!!!"
"They are so incredibly nice! I've always been a Krispy Kreme girl, but their fresh glazed donuts puts them to shame! Best donut I've ever had!! Will definitely be back!"
"The food is great and the friendly service is even better. Wonderful cupcakes and other sweets, my favorite sandwich is the chicken salad. We usually stop in when we're in the area."
"Excellent cookies and great service! The people are friendly and the environment inviting."
"Excellent treat. Very tasty. We had the Buttery something or other which was a vanilla shaved snow covered with Butterfinger crumbles. Delicious.Service was friendly and quick even with a crowd.Don't listen to the haters on here (likely competitors). Try this place yourself."
"Best donuts in Southaven!!! The owner is so friendly and always has a donut hole waiting for my daughter. Great donuts for a really great price. I go here for grabbing donuts for work or the family."
"I love the hustle. Always making improvements in every way they can. Food is good and the people are so nice! We go for dinner every now and then and always have to get one of the super fun ice cream sundays!!!"
"I've picked up two cakes from this amazing bakery and they're always available to instantly write on the cakes. Each cake looked amazing and taste even better. My guests have always wanted a second slice. Here's a pic of my most recent cake. I'm entrusting them for a specialty cake and can't wait to see the turn out. They have other goodies for instant pick up and enjoying. Definitely my bakery of choice for every occasion."
"Always looking to support small black businesses. The cookie bark is a must try!!!! Awww man it's heaven. So rich, crunchy, deliciousness. It's a thick layer of cookie loaded with scrumptious toppings. Soft, yet firm. We ordered the s'mores and turtle. The best decision we made. I will definitely be ordering again in the very near future. This business offer a vast variety of cookies and cookie bark. Delivered fresh. Quality ingredients. Reasonable price."
"I love the convenience of having a "self checkout" option! I have always had a great experience at this location. The staff are friendly and keep it clean inside. My only qualm is that they are typically sold out of the particularly popular cookie of the week. I've lost out on trying flavors I really wanted to try because of this, even if I came at not-so-busy time. I will definitely return!"
