McMenamin's Tavern

Hands down some of the best fish and chips, in the city. The batter is crispy without being super oily and the fish is tender and juicy. I've been coming here for decades and they are very consistent. The fish and chips are my favorite, but I've also tried the shrimp, veggie burgers and their garden salad is very yummy with their house made balsamic dressing. They also have daily specials, and their wings are very popular. The space is casual, and good for a no thrills date night, when the Phillies or Eagles are playing. They even have outdoor dining and a good selection of beers, and wine. Great neighborhood spot! You won't be disappointed.

Great to be back in the neighborhood I grew up in! Everyone friendly, a true neighborhood gem and gathering place. The food was excellent for a small bar. We had the grilled flat iron steak with beets and goat cheese served with mashed potatoes and green beans- highly recommend! Good tap selection.

My friend and I stopped in at McMenamin's for drinks after a show a few weeks ago, and it was the perfect place for drinks on a Friday night in Mt. Airy. We didn't have any food, but I enjoyed a Guinness while my friend enjoyed some cider. The service at the bar was great, and the vibes are just good. McMenamin's is old school, a great classic Irish pub: great seating, lots of TVs, wood bar, lots of people having a good time. Definitely a place I'd be happy to return to for food or drinks in the future.

McMenimin's is a terrific, very popular neighborhood bar/restaurant. It can be noisy, but if you sit in the back room, the noise is not too bad. We were there on a weeknight (Tuesday), and yet every table was filled by 7 o'clock. The food is better than one would expect for this kind of place. The fish and chips, chef's salad with portobello mushrooms and plant-based "cheeseburger" were all excellent. And portions were huge. The server was very pleasant. The reasons why this is 4 stars and not 5: No cocktail list at all and just a few not-so-great wines by the glass. And the entrees were served way before we were finished with the appetizers. They must have thought we had to catch a train. If you don't mind being rushed like crazy, then you might give McMenamin's 5 stars.

Fast friendly service and great food. We got the Fish and Chips, chicken wings and roast beef sandwich., Everything tasted delicious and the beer was on point. The atmosphere was also pleasant not too loud.

The hot wings here are the best Buffalo wings in Philly. A couple years ago my employer sent me to a conference in Toronto and I deferred the flight so that I could drive and stop in Buffalo on the way up and on the way back to do some wing tours.McMen's Hot Wings are every bit as good as Anchor Bar's, only bested marginally by Gabriel's Gate, and better than any of the others I had in Buffalo.My original review talked about Moriarity's... their wings fell off over a decade ago.

Amazing food and amazing servers. Best people here. Great place to watch the games as well. Love the old school bar type of vibe that meets a clean cool updated look. 100% would recommend

Service is great. The atmosphere is wonderful, warm and welcoming. The food is great and the staff are friendly and polite.
