McKenzie's Barbeque & Burgers

This place never disappointed. They have really good service, clean interior and great bbq. They also have the sauce and toppings bar by the drinks. This location is a bit smaller than the Conroe one and I would like to see them add in the full condiments and toppings bar like the Conroe location but that's just a personal preference. I've never had a bad experience here, and will continue to eat their BBQ over the new Rudy's they put in down 105.

New to the area and thought I would try this place. I had to do delivery (no car yet-as it was being shipped). I ordered the three meat plate with potato salad, corn on the cob and banana pudding. I ordered Pork Spare Ribs, Chicken and brisket. To me the spareribs were salty and not a ton of flavor, the chicken was dry. The brisket was ok. The sauce reminded me of Carolina sauce at Buckhorn grill (in California). The banana pudding was watery, with three wafers and maybe one slice of banana. I will say, I can make better banana pudding at home. ‍The potato salad and White bread were the best part of my meal. Portion sizes are good. However, I was not impressed with this barbecue. I will go back for the potato salad, but other than that, I'll pass.

McKenzie's has always been a solid choice for bbq in the area. It's not the expensive "craft" bbq that's all the rage these days but a solid, affordable choice. But I've got to let the secret out of the bag. They have my favorite burger in the area! I get a cheeseburger on the jalapeño sourdough bun & fried jalapeños instead of fries. The fried jalapeños definitely have some heat to them but are not so hot that you can't enjoy them. They're served with a side of Ranch. It's so delicious!

Probably the best service we had on vacation! Our server was extremely nice. She was helpful with the menu and continued to check on us during our meal. The portions are LARGE! The plates are sharable!!!!! The chopped brisket sandwich is a must get.

Our first time and it was amazing! We had sausage, lean brisket, pinto beans and corn on the cob. All were excellent. They missed extra credit points for not salting the outsides of the potatoes. ( can you tell I'm a teacher). We will be back.

Had dinner in Conroe location and had the two piece meat deal. I had beans and coleslaw. The beans were bland and had no flavor, the ribs were not bad but also had no flavor, the beef brisket was tender but no flavor unless I put tons of BBQ sauce. My Grandaughter had a pork sandwich. My husband had pulled pork and beef brisket sandwhich he said it was not flavorful unless you added a lot of sauce. It was tender. My son in law loved his hamburger he said it was the best he ever had. So I will try the hamburger if we go back.

Baked potato with sliced Beef and onion rings was Awesome. Beef was perfect. Smokey and moist. Great Flavors all the way around.

Best burger in Montgomery! I've had the barbecue but first time ordering a burger and it was EXCELLENT!!!

It's not that it's the worst bbq, it's just that Rudy's (a fast bbq chain) is just that much better that it just comes across bad. And Rudy's is nowhere near the best bbq I've had. A few times my brisket hasn't been fresh.

Amazing quick pickup service, me and my boyfriend both got the 2 meat plates, awesome portions for awesome good price. The Mac and cheese is so good and cheesy, best potato salad I've ever had to go, ribs and chicken both were juicy and had an awesome smoked flavor. My boyfriend got the chicken tenders with ranch, loved the breading very crispy and chicken was very juicy, not dry at all. We love coming here, best bbq in Montgomery!!
