McKenzie's Barbeque & Burgers

Up in Willis for baseball practice and needed a quick place to grab a bite to eat. Found this place and gave it a try. It is a large expansive location and actually has two separate counters depending on whether you want bbq or burgers. If your party has a combination of both, they'll take your order but pickup is at two separate windows. Not a big deal but confusing on your first visit. They have this down to a science though and big lines move swiftly. There were two in our party today and our orders were almost identical with the exception of the brisket. I am a fan of moist while MK favors lean. We opted to add onion rings and sweet potato fries as sides and both were phenomenal. My moist brisket included some end pieces that were decidedly unmoist but all was well by the third slice. Food is plentiful and the atmosphere is friendly. I would certainly return.

One of my favorite BBQ restaurants in the area . Don't sleep on them just because there are some other big name spots around. The tri tip was the most flavorful I've had .

I ordered delivery, it came warm and in good shape. The chopped brisket sandwich was good with sauce on the side and the Mac and cheese was not runny at all which was perfect. I also ordered coleslaw and I don't know what I was expecting but it wasn't pickles inside. I'm sure it's someone's cup of tea but it wasn't mine. Overall delicious meal

You can never go wrong with McKenzie"s!! Their brisket and ribs are always bbq'd to perfection...The food is always"on point".... Having all the "trimmings" available is a big plus...

As I was about to give up on any sort of hope that Conroe had a decent burger, McKenzies decided to prove me wrong in a big way. I've never been happier to be wrong. That double cheeseburger was tender, juicy and had great flavor. I feel stupid for never having a burger there before but man am I gonna start, regularly. Whatever y'all are doing, keep doing exactly that, it doesn't need changing, it's perfect.

Amazing BBQ! Exceptional customer service! Beautiful and clean restaurant! This is my go-to BBQ fixer. They have catered the last 2 office lunches for my team and I with succulent sandwiches and perfect timing, while working with our needs. Mattie made some magic happen for us today! I'm not sure how many times we had to call her and ask questions or change something; but when the lunch bell rang, everyone on my team was making yummy noises behind genuine smiles. I personally picked up the delivery and watched Mattie ensure everything we needed was accounted for. This was after drooling at the employees behind the counter fixing our food. I have no reason to go anywhere else.

Though it was a fast one, it was a good experience. Ordered online. Parked in the back. Walked right up the to the pick up window. And the food was ready.. no complaints. Still warm when I ate it at the office.. no complaints Try the Bbq grilled cheese. Anyway. Just try it. Don't forget napkins

I stopped by on Friday to have lunch at McKenzie's in Conroe.I had heard some mixed reviews, but there were some good comments on the burgers, so I gave that a try.I ordered a 1/2 lb Cheeseburger and the Onion Rings. I asked if they would cook the burger rare, and the counter person said yes, and marked it that way on my receipt.You pick up your order in the next room near the grill. As I was waiting, I noted that the grill lady was cooking a burger patty. To my horror, I watched as she repeatedly smashed the burger with a spatula over and over squeezing every last bit of juice out of the burger. For I moment I felt relief knowing that could not possibly be my burger since she continued this for several more minutes, and I had ordered my burger rare.A few minutes later, she passed the patty over to the person who was assembling the bun, and putting the onion rings on the platter.Holy #$@$!! That was my burger!I did not have the time or inclination to send it back, but as I cut into it, I found a dry grey patty with not a hint of moisture.Keep in mind, this is a 1/2 pound patty, not a "smash style burger".No cook should ever keep smashing a burger of this type, even if requested well done. This was one of the worst burgers I have ever had. Very disappointing. The only reason this reviews gets 2 stars instead of 1 star, is that the onion rings were excellent.I hope the management reads this review, and has a conversation with their grill staff regarding how to cook a burger properly. Perhaps with proper cooking their burgers could be decent.

Nice, clean, upscale, Barbeque restaurant in Conroe with good food. You place order and wait for your number to be called.
