Really busy, hopping spot in a back alley in Center City. Had a bar, couple high tops, and some long communal tables making up most of the dining area. Considering it was completely packed, I was impressed with the service. Got the cheesesteak eggrolls for an appetizer. They came out hot, crunchy and delicious. Came with a spicy aioli that really complimented the savory meat and cheese. For my main, I got the mussels and fries. Delicious, buttery, salty, garlicky. The fries were hot and crispy served in their own little mini fryer basket. Got a Belgian wheat ale on draft that came recommended by the server. Was a great choice. Overall. A great experience. The prices are actually criminally low. I think I got out the door with an app, entree, and beer for less than $30. That's insane for a downtown hot spot. If you're in the neighborhood. I'd 100% check this spot out!P.S. - the most amusing thing about my visit was when Natasha Beddingfield's "Unwritten" came blasting on the speakers, and ALL THE TEENS AND EARLY TWENTY SOMETHING'S were singing word for word at the top of their lungs. Like a 20 year old song being sung by 20 year olds was entertaining as hell. :-)

French fries were really good! Came out hot. Bbq wings tasted a bit old. We did go late at night though. The buffalo wings looked good. We should've gotten Those. They also gave us all drums. Server, Jake, told us it was the luck of the draw...Wild. We also had a server in training Fiana who was awesome!! She's going to be a top notch server for them. The training server, Jake, needs to improve his customer service skills however. I would never allow him to be my server again. I guess if you're hungry and it's late night. Give them a try

Nice local pub with a historical vibe. Dropped for a pint and some wings and was pleased with the preparation. Staff was fantastic, especially Shaina who was my primary. The full staff helped each other and everyone was friendly and attentive. Nice place to drop in and grab a beer.

I loved the vibe here, eclectic art intermingled with history makes exploring the space a treat. The crock of chili was covered in melted cheese, while the soup was a thick meaty concoction that made me so glad I tried it. I was less impressed with my Philly, which was a bit dry. The crab cake was phenomenal though, a flaky treat.

Food:Good portions and flavorful Service: Not Good. It seems to be too busy to be able to provide good service with a couple of servers and a full restaurant. It took a long time to order, get our food and the check. Ambiance: Eclectic, fun and lively pubPrice: $ Very affordable

It's a pub, so what do you expect? Ice cold beer! Since this place is the oldest bar in Philly, it just made sense that we would come here. I had a very good club sandwich, and my husband had a Reuben. We shared a basket of what may be the best onion rings I've ever had in my life:) The service was terrific too. Make it a destination while in Philadelphia. You won't be disappointed.

I wanted a cheese steak. I wanted to watch the 76ers. I wanted a place open last 9pm. And there you were - the oldest bar blocks from my hotel. You had everything I sought. The place was really cool - I love the oldest nostalgic type bars. The game was on. The place was packed yet I found a table. I had the house (red) ale and a cheesesteak. A really nice combo. The cheesesteak had a bit more flavor and seasoning than other iterations I've had but really good in its own right. Props to the server who was friendly and great and attentive. Sometimes this isn't the case when places get crowded.

We were excited to visit this #1 Irish Pub according to Google result articles. We knew they didn't serve Guiness so we were interested in trying their O'Hara Stout. Came in on a Monday evening. Staff were friendly and attentive. The atmosphere didn't remind us of an Irish pub (compared to other Irish pubs in the US, Irish pubs in different cities in Ireland, Europe, etc.). It felt more like it used to be a pub then started transforming into a sports bar. Tried the Philly eggrolls, Mile High Meatloaf, French Onion Soup and wings. Biggest complaint: why was all the food room temperature (besides the soup)?? The egg rolls, fries and Meat loaf came out quickly so its not like they were sitting around. Very strange. The wings were stale and falling apart. We had 6 pints of beer each and that didn't make the food taste any better. O'Hara stout is fine. Initial taste has a more "coffee taste" but the aftertaste is nice and creamy. Still prefer Guiness, to each their own.

FOOD/DRINKSI came for an event on a Thursday evening and had their complementary pasta, sandwiches, and a cranberry vodka. All of them hit the spot-- nothing amazing but nothing bad either. It can a little louder than anticipated inside (music paired with conversations trying to talk over said music), so if you're staying for an extended time, your ears will ring for sometime after.AMBIANCEThe interior is true to theme, and overall a great place to catch up with a group of friends.SERVICEThe staff are kind and friendly.PARKINGPaid street parking is available at a limited capacity. Garages are also available nearby for a fee.

I have to rave about the French onion soup! Top 5 in the city for sure. French onion soup aside - there's a reason this place is always packed. It's fun, lively, and has great beer and food. Always recommend.
