Think a 1960s pub and a working class neighborhood it just takes you back to the good old days. The food is salad. The drinks are legitimate.

First time here, it's an old haunt of my wife, an Ardmore native. She hadn't been in maybe 15 years, walks in, & sees the bartender she knew, Marty. So cute. He was great as was the service generally. Food came out hot, fresh & fast. All plates were completely cleaned. Chicken parm with linguine (my son inhaled it), fabulous Italian wedding soup, the best potato skins ever, loved the red onion & shockingly delicious wings. I loved that they were not breaded, & they were SEASONED, ok? So good.

Food was good, we got the Nashville hot chicken wings and they were super crispy and got a good portion. The burgers were really good and large. The salad was alright nothing special about it but it was how it was described. The service was quick and friendly.

I hate sitting at the bar, you get to see the good the bad and the ugly. What I witnessed was the ugly. The bartender, who's name was Marty was totally gross. Eating behind the bar while working hand to mouth, coughing into his hand, sometimes not covering his mouth while coughing. Serving glassware where he put his fingers on the lips of the glasses where people are putting their mouths. He never washed his hands in the hour that I observed him working .This was just gross. I would not recommend this place at all

I feel conflicted sharing not the best experience.. perhaps one day I'd give a try again but it would be after very careful thought. Grew up around here, so much has changed, just wanted a cold bar, not rowdy and a bite of food. Seemed attractive and cute, reviews not awful, walked in and could hear of the internal challenges and that is something you should do privately. Ordered me a beer, perused the menu. Received my beer, took a sip and immediately thought it was hot. Then thought, maybe I'm just hot, it's hot out and I've had a long day. Sitting there still over hearing the conversation involving staffing, I witnessed a young man exit the kitchen and enter the restroom with a large pot in hand. Thought hmm, wonder where that pot is going as he returned to the kitchen. Kind bartender asked if I would like another and despite what I just saw, I said sure, but a cold one. Turns out warm beer was a known issue. From that point I wasn't sure my experience would get any better. My beer was comped and off I went. Hope things get better, as I would have loved to support this establishment.

I only like the wings from here and do not get the pasta with red sauce it's not good but people are nice and when they have The Carmel cheesecake it's yummy in my tummy best thing from here

Amazing food! Good drinks and live Jazz entertainment that night! Very family like in how we were treated. I'm definitely going back.

Great food, great service. It DOES get noisy, but that's not McCloskey's fault.

If you want an old school burger cooked perfectly on the grill this is your spot! Reminded me of when i was a kid and they used to have great restaurants! All the food is outstanding from that tiny kitchen. Best burger i had in a long time

First let me say that my family and I love this place. We have been eating here once a week for over 20 years and obviously enjoy it very much. We also want to give a shout-out to Kim - the best bartender on the Main Line. On the negative side, however, I recently wanted a glass of wine and found that the wine on the drink menu may never be updated. In fact, a look behind the bar quickly shows that none of the visible bottles of wine are listed on the menu. it would seem easy enough to update the wine menu. Otherwise, we hope that McCloskey's keeps doing what they been doing for so long.
