I went to MMCPA with a buddy of mine to see Rodney Carrington perform his stand-up comedy act. Once we parked across the street, it was a short walk to the entry point. We were greeted by numerous staff members who were over the top with kindness. We got some drinks and were greeted by an usher who showed us to our seats. The show was so funny, all the ushers were bent over laughing. It was great to see. I'd would not hesitate to attend a show or event at this venue. We had a blast!

I had the pleasure of taking a behind the scenes tour of Raleigh Memorial Auditorium inside the Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts. We got to see the set of Mary Poppins and meet some of those that put on the show from hair and makeup to the sound. We also saw some of the performers. The venue seats of 2369 and was once used for basketball games. There are photos online if you look for them. they kept the upper seats on the sides from the basketball years. The tour was a special experience after watching the amazing production. The staff was informative and friendly.

I attended the NCMA's Jazz Concert Series with performances from Grammy winners Samara Joy & Robert Glasper this evening. The show was moved from the NCMA park amphitheater to the Martin Marietta Center due to threats of a thunderstorm. I was grateful and in awe at how quickly the NCMA and Martin Marietta Center put this together for us. My friend and I purchased lawn seating with low expectations and were blessed with great seats inside the theater tonight for the show. Samara Joy was truly a joy to watch tonight. This young lady has a stage presence and talent for putting on a entertaining show. As a daughter of a late jazz musician, Jazz music is all about storytelling. Samara gets that. I anticipate more from her. Her range and enthusiasm for commanding an audience will always be memorable to me. Robert Glasper is an experience. His music is not for everyone. He fuses Jazz and Hip Hop into a unique one of a kind sound that commands the attention of whoever his audience is. Robert is an entertainer who brings all the fun and games and then some to the stage. The acoustics were great in this theater. I really enjoyed this venue, the comfortable seating and the staff. The only thing this venue is missing is new railing for all the stairs throughout the theater. Older folks had a hard time climbing and going down the stairs without any support. Young women in heels as well. Street Parking is available along E. South St near the signs that are marked 2 hour. If you have money to burn, the Municipal parking lots are available as well at a cost.

Great event at the Kennedy Center - The Dessertery! It's a 45 min long event full of desserts, hot cocoa, popcorn, photo opportunities, and adult drinks. Over 15 different treats to try while making your favorite cup of hot cocoa! Seating was comfortable and staff was amazing! All treats were clearly marked, so you knew what you were trying (in case you had dietary restrictions). My favorite was the Egg Nog cheesecake and the Crème Brûlée cheesecake! So creamy and rich! There was also beautiful decorations outside to enjoy as you walked to and from parking.

This venue is located downtown & hosts a variety of events like plays, competitions, and etc. There are parking structures and street parking located near the business. Depending on the time of day you may be able to find free street parking. The staff working the event was great. There were people stationed inside and outside of the venue. Everyone that we came into contact with was very personable and helpful. Lorena was extra kind to us during our visit. We saw a play at this venue and complimentary themed photographs that were printed and texted were available. The business also provides food and drinks that can be purchased during your visit. Stairs and elevators were available to access the various floors inside of the venue. This is def a great venue to check out in Raleigh.

This was a great venue to see Weird Al on his birthday. Even though the show was obviously sold out, it's a small enough venue where it was easy to get in and out of after the show. We found convenient parking in a small lot directly across the street. Security shuffled people in quickly so we made it from our car to our seats in under 5 minutes, which is probably a record for me. They had a merch area over to the side with a single organized line, and places with snacks and drinks throughout. I'd gladly see another show here!

9/23/22: My job gave away tickets to "The Concert" ballet, so I hopped on them. I absolutely loved it!! From swiftly getting thru the security line, to the snack bar, to being seated, the staff was great!!!!! They were so friendly and helpful. My main issue was that is felt like a sauna in there & that they had me sitting directly next to someone when there were a lot of empty seats all around. I couldn't move, and that made it hard for me to enjoy parts of the show. People these days don't believe Covid is still here, so they weren't wearing masks. So annoying. I loved the show & the music. It was beautiful. I can't wait to go to another ballet there soon.

We've enjoyed going to the Center a number of times. Arrive about 30 minutes before showtime, and you'll probably be able to park in one of the two lots directly opposite the front doors of the facility. (This may not be the case with super popular shows; plan accordingly.) If those lots are full, there are plenty of parking facilities nearby, as well as street parking. Personally, I'd rather get there early and park 200 yards away; we just get a drink (or two) after entering the Center. BTW: Memorial Auditorium seats 2350; Meymandi Concert Hall seats 1587; Fletcher, 600. You can sometimes catch great deals on same day resale tickets.

I went to the Dessertery and Christmas Carol production. The desserty was a 45 minute slot which gives you access to all the sweets you want- from hot cocoa to Bread Pudding. Overall it was a cute concept with a Christmas theme. The only drawback was the limited time slot, cocktails were expensive, and you were seated with strangers, felt like a festive office party. Christmas carol was wonderful as the finish to the day. Overall a fun day! It was nice that this venue had m I'll triple different activities that you could attend.
