Mandi Cocina Mexicana

What a gem! We have made Mandi's a go to on our favorite place list. We've probably dined there 10 times in the last year or so and every time the food has been delicious, service is great and they have a small bar to provide a nice selection of beverages. This is a smaller restaurant but we have never waited long for a table. My go to is anything with their fajita beef but everything has been tasty. On this trip I went with the Chimichanga with Fajita Beef. Delicious. My wife ordered the Sea Bass tacos and they were fantastic. I seriously would recommend the menu as a whole. They do have lunch specials and some fun drinks. My favorite being the Paloma for a fresh citrus taste. I also want to compliment the owner for often being part of the service staff and greeting the customers. She genuinely cares about your experience and feedback.

This place is great for a quick meal. The customer service is awesome, and the food is wonderful. Very authentic. They make their Agua de Jamaica fresh to order, and it's the best I've tried anywhere around. Highly recommend!

I really enjoyed this spot for so many reasons. The customer service from the staff is phenomenal. Everyone was friendly and smiling and ready to take my order. Unfortunately my food I didn't take a picture of but I got the chicken fajita bowl and it is so good! The drink I had was the grand gold and it was great! This is a smaller restaurant so please be patient with the staff. They have a lot of specials during the week and I'll definitely be back.

Cam here over the weekend as we saw reviews online and decided we had to try it out. We were excited to start with Margs and queso Flameado. My frozen strawberry Marg was a little watery or not so frozen. The flavor was ok, but definitely not the best Marg I have ever had. The queso Flameado we saw online and looked amazing. When we ordered it the waiter didn't ask what type of meat we preferred, but online we saw pictures of it coming with steak and shrimp. Ours came with chorizo which was fine, just not what we expected. It was pretty good, just super rich. Probably a little too much for two people which was our bad. I ordered mole enchiladas because anywhere we go that offers them, I have to try it! Overall the flavor was good, but they were kind of small and I was able to finish them all myself. The service was ok, and the restaurant itself was clean and cute. The food was good and definitely more of an authentic Mexican experience.

Everything is so yummy!! Salsa was served warm & had a nice kick to it! Best we've had in a long while! Food was absolutely delicious! Drinks were also very good! Will definitely be back soon! 10/10 recommend!

My husband and I decided to try this place in two different occasions. We tried dinner and brunch in two different days. Service was great during dinner and during brunch it was okay. They also have happy hour but no happy hour menu so we ended up having to pay regular price on 2 of our drinks.Food we tried I feel some needed more salt but they don't have salt or pepper on the table. Food rating: Chips & Salsa 8/10 Chicharron 9/10 (eat it quick or gets chewy) Enchiladas verdes 7/10 Tacos Al pastor 9/10 Beans and rice 6/10 Chilaquiles 6/10 Pancakes 3/10 Coffee 10/10

Had a quick lunch and had the shrimp enchiladas. It came with a red sauce and was a bit spicy, but good. Queso was excellent and service was very prompt.

Why 5 stars? Because this was one of the better Tex-Mex restaurants I've tried. --- --- ---I say this everything: I don't understand how 400 Tex-Mex per square mile can all thrive here, but this is reality. After one visit to MCM, I think it's definitely in the top 10%. I've probably written a review similar to this one several times in the last few months, which would kind of ruin my point about Mandi being in the top 10%, but I'm general a pretty positive person when it comes to local businesses. I'm not hard to please, and if I enjoyed the food, I see no reason to say that it's not great. And on that note, Mandi was great.As mentioned above, there are approximately 762 Tex-Mex restaurants closer to me than Mandi, so I don't think I'd be back often, but it's good to know that this is here. And I recommended it to my Aunt and Uncle who live much closer.As for what I ordered, I went with what I seemingly order at all of these spots: chips & queso, steak fajitas with rice and refried beans.The food came insanely fast. I do not think five full minutes passed from the time we put it in order until it was on our table. And the first thing I noticed was that the flavor of the meat and the tortillas hit perfectly in line with what I was hoping for. I was not very impressed by the queso, but the fajitas are what's important here.

This restaurant has been around for about 6 years but it was a first time for us. The decor is really nice and it's a little cozy place. Our waiter was new to his job but the owner Becky was with him and they provided us with great personal service. We will definitely return.We started with drinks (House Margaritas , skinny margaritas and black diamond). They were a little on the sweet side but next time we will tell them to go easy on the syrup/agave. We ordered Queso Fumeado for appetizer which had generous amount of chorizo and came with warm tortillas. Delicious!For entrees we ordered enchiladas potosinas, enmoladas, chicken enchiladas with verde sauce and chile rellenos. All were really tasty and the mole sauce was exceptional. Loved it!!For desert we ordered chocolate tres leches and it was soooo good.Overall great food, service and ambiance. Five stars!

We enjoyed great food and good service when we visited Mandi Cocina during a work trip. The salsa and dip started the dinner deliciously, was one of my favorite house salsas I have had in a LONG time. It is smoky and almost tastes creamy like it has a tiny bit of refried beans in it! Had the Tacos Al Carbon and wasn't disappointed. My coworkers had the Fajita Bowl and the Street Tacos and everyone was very complimentary of the food.We all had margaritas, mine was the signature margarita with subbed Anejo Herradura tequila and chamoy instead of salt and it was delish! The only thing that was less than great was their lack of hot sauce options and the service shortfalls. When I asked if they had Cholula they said no and offered Tabasco instead... they did have Valentina after I asked but if you are a Mexican food restaurant in Houston, TX I would expect you to have the ability to communicate what all of the options are. There was a very long delay waiting for the check which can ruin an otherwise very good dinner,The server seemed new and obviously had not been provided adequate training by management.Over all very good experience, if the service had been on point, the experience would have been ever better. Definitely recommend!
