Wow. We used to really like Mamma Mia's but we took our family tonight and the food was not good. We started with calamari, it was a smallish appetizer portion and the calamari was pretty flavorless. It needed more seasoning. My pasta puttanesca was too salty to eat. Puttanesca is a salty dish, it had capers and olives. But this was over-the-top, inedibly salty. My family's pizza came with canned mushrooms, instead of fresh, which surprised me. The pizza wasn't bad, but wasn't great either. The server was nice, she overall did a good job. The food came quickly. I'm sad, because we used to like this place, but I don't think we'll come back. We can get better quality food for the price elsewhere.

Mamma Mia, I wish I went to a different restaurant. We entered the restaurant around 6PM and were the first ones there. We were promptly seated, but our waitress then forgot about us as other guests entered and she took their orders before us. I will say that the restaurant looked short staffed, and our waitress was otherwise very friendly. My rating primarily comes from the food. The oil and vinegar dip has very little balsamic vinegar. The olive oil was very low quality, and actually had the taste and color of vegetable oil. I ordered the eggplant parm for my entree. The eggplant was ok, but very thin. The pasta was bland and the marinara sauce was watery. The ambiance was outdated and highlighted by a TV showing the owners Italy vacation. Really strange. I don't recommend Mamma Mia. There are many better Italian restaurants in Apex and Cary to choose from

Got some pizza here for lunch the 2 slice special. It was great! I'm from NY, so even these slices were way bigger than what I was used to. Honestly, it was good. I just got the normal cheese pizza . Good for the price. I only ate one for my lunch. 2 was too much for me. It was quiet during the lunch hours and the service was good. They got my order and it was ready in about 10 minutes after.

After a stressful car buying experience we remembered this restaurant and we were not disappointed. The service was great. The seating was comfortable and the ambiance was standard Italian. I highly recommend the house Chianti! As far as the food goes the calamari could be a little fresher, however it hit the spot for us since we were starving. The veal parmigiana was delicious and tender, just the right portion. My wife enjoyed the rotini. Long story short, if this restaurant was closer to home we would be here regularly.

Hubby and I were out running errands on a Friday and decided to stop at Mamma Mia for a pizza lunch. We both decided on the two large slices of cheese pizza for 6$ with additional topping for 75 cents each. Waitress told us that the restaurant closes at 2p and we needed to order quickly because the pizza maker was ending his shift at 2p. So we ordered. Five minutes later another couple came in but apparently did not get the same instructions and they ordered the pizza slices too. Hmmm...okay. The pizza arrived to the table fresh and hot . The slices were huge and large enough for two to split one order. It was delicious as I had vegetables and my hubby had meat.This was my second visit and the lasagna from my first visit was tasty as well. Service was okay upon arrival and our order came quickly. Towards the end the restaurant was closed so I suspect employees there were busy with tasks or taking breaks. Anyway...no major issues and the food was good and value for lunch was 20$ including tip. I would return.

I've been here a few times now and never had a bad meal from salads to pizzas. It's conveniently next door to a Hertz location I visit so I always try to plan the lunches for Mamma Mia. The owners are usually there and seem really nice. Indoor and outdoor seating and plenty of easy parking. Most recently I was hosting a training and needed to feed a lot of people. We went in for their huge pizzas (and they are HUGE!). This thing literally barely fits in the back of an suv. We picked up three with a variety of toppings. Everyone at the training loved the pizza for its taste and novelty size. I highly recommend you check these out if you're hosting. It's a win win for taste and conversation piece. They also have a great lunch special. I usually get this two slice lunch special (theme here...the slices are huge) and a drink. Overall this is a great local spot! I always look forward to my Apex trips because of this lunch gem.

This restaurant exceeds my expectations EVERY time. The service is always impeccable and the food is outstanding. They really make you feel like family. I had my dads birthday celebration here last night and they went over the top. It's always worth the hour drive!!

The food fell way short of all the authentic Italian restaurants I've ever been to. From Connecticut to New York and here in NC... I ordered the Gamberoni Scampi. There was absolutely NO SEASONING! It was not a scampi at all. Sauce was pure lemon juice. So it tasted that way to me. I had a side of sautéed broccoli that could have been better if it had seasoning. My friend ordered Chicken Sorrentina. Mozzarella topped eggplant and chicken breast. The chicken seems to have been boiled... the eggplant was not fried either. I didn't take a picture because it was not appealing to the eye. The inside was beautifully decorated and the lighting was good too. Service was awesome.
