Great immediate service. And the chef came out to see how we liked the food! Very personable. They speak vietnamese so "sinjow" is the greeting and "kamon" is thank you. Use these and connect people!!! Some really smart ideas: water with a side of lemon juice - this is genius because the lemon mixes immediately into your water! Straws on the table (i know some advocate against the use, and I actually hardly ever use a straw) numbered tablesOk what I ordered:They have a nice grouping of omelets but each one had something I wanted and something I didn't. So I made my own, and it was no problem.Beef fajitas(came with sauted peppers and onions- which I didn'tknow about, nice surprise) spinach, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms What I gotPretty similar BUT they added !!cheese! Which is usually a great surprise but not today (and not for any of those lactose intolerant people) also my hashbrowns (another thing I don't usually eat) could have been more crispy. All in all a good experience and we will definitely come back :)

In a town seemingly full of mexican restaurants, this place serves some pretty decent homemade country cooking on south velasco, going out of town. On their menu, you'll find various sandwiches, salads, steaks, seafood, fried foods and they're open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you come for lunch, try their buffet. On a Tuesday when I visited, the buffet offered 3 meats: pot pie, Salisbury steak and chicken fried steak, green beans, fried okra, scalloped grilled potatoes, corn, lima beans, mashed potatoes, yeast rolls and jalapeño corn bread. Also they had a salad bar and a pot containing some pretty watery vegetable soup.My favs were chicken fried steak, Salisbury steak, sliced potatoes and yeast rolls.Price for lunch buffet is 8.95 (for 1 trip), 9.95 (unlimited trips to buffet line). Even though I went up 3 or 4 different times, they only charged me 8.95.

This place used to be great home cooking. Now, not so much. The quality of food has really gone down and we won't go here any longer. The lunch buffet was a must a few years ago. Now the quality control is very bad. The fried chicken was the best in the town, now it's not better than KFC or Churches and sometimes it's worse. The service is bad at times. It also needs some serious outside maintenance.

The food is so-so and lukewarm. The service and wait time for food is HORRIBLE -- the waitress will ignore your table if there's a long wait for your food. The wait for scrambled eggs, hasbrowns, and bacon....30 minutes.. when the restaurant isn't even 1/2 full of people. i (maybe 20 people in the restaurant)Then, the portions are tiny after the wait. Really? The waitress will get snippy with the customers that complain about the wait and snap "There's only 1 cook". Guess what? Your staffing issue is NOT the customer's fault and it's the waitress that suffers. The wait time was outrageous when it should have taken no more than 10 minutes...at the most!

Very slow service. We were told 30 minutes even though the place is half full. Food took almost 45 minutes for two breakfast plates. Waitresses were very inattentive and didn't refill our drinks or even stop by the table once in that 45 minutes. We won't be returning.

I've been going out to angleton once a week for a year. This place is the best thing about the little town. Catch their lunch buffet for only $8. Fried okra was crunchy and not super oily. Chicken fried steak actually tasted like steak and their stuffing is seasoned so well it doesn't need gravy. If you ever find yourself in Angleton make sure to stop at mama's kitchen.

Not impressed with this place. Took a long time for the waitress to come over. Then delivered wrong order to our table and then argued with me. Finally delivered to correct table. Food was bland as bland can be. Money better spent somewhere
