Best gyro ever. And the Greek fries were awesome. Caught this food truck down at NC State campus. If you run across them you have to try them! Definitely get your moneys worth.

Mama Voulas was one of our favorite food trucks when we first moved here. Haven't seen them in a while

There's a lot of good about Mama Voulas: the people who take your order and make your food, the variety of items, the amount of food for the money (at least for the gyros).I ordered the traditional gyro. It's mildly seasoned, the tzatziki sauce is a nice counterbalance, the lettuce and tomatoes are visible and not chopped to a pulp. The pita itself is very lightly grilled This is a two-handed gyro. I had the traditional gyro. It didn't look like that much, at first. But after I took several bites and realized that I had barely made a dent, I realized exactly how much food there was. If I had read the menu more closely, I would have ordered the half. The Greek salad was fine. I've had better, though. Mostly lettuce (of course) but with 2 thick cubes of tomato, cucumber and feta and just enough black olives to make it more substantial. The Parmesan cheese was served in a tiny funnel of dough so you can add as much as you need. The half portion of salad was still a good deal compared with other menu items. I don't know that I'd go out of my way to visit Mama Voula's, but I wouldn't turn away from it either.

Food Truck Time: Mama Voula'sI was not impressed with the homemade gyro from this food truck. Yes, it is a healthier option for a food truck but I've had better at restaurants around the area. Plus, the price tag for a gyro with a side of fries rang in at $12 which is a little on the expensive side.

Opa! Oh yum!Mama Voula's was parked at Trophy Brewing on Maywood last night. It was a rainy, stormy night, but that didn't stop people from coming out. Frank, the owner was kind enough to cut the gyros in half, so I was lucky enough to try two: half of the homemade gyro, which was a mix of turkey, pork and beef, kind of a meatloaf-type consistency; and half of the traditional lamb gyro. Both were really, really good- served with tzatziki sauce and on a lightly grilled pita. Came with a side of fries, which I also enjoyed. I couldn't finish the entire meal, so I had some left-overs to take with me. And let's face it, I can't have Greek food without a slice of baklava. I am a huge fan of baklava, and especially this baklava! There was more rich, honey-covered and nutty filling than there was philo dough, and it was the perfect ratio. I ate the left-overs as soon as I got home. Friendly, smiling service. Tasty, delightful food. Quick and convenient. I am a little bit full just thinking about this satisfying meal. Thank you Mama Voula for a fantastic food truck experience. Can't wait to come back!

Super mediocre and SUPER overpriced. Cannot believe what I was provided in this gyro for $8. I went to the food truck today and was a little surprised by the prices, but I ordered the traditional gyro, thinking it would be worth it. Nope - so little meat (oddly VERY thinly sliced), with some okay tzaziki, and chopped romaine lettuce. I mean, I wasn't expecting anything ornate given that it's a gyro from a food truck, but I was sort of expecting a well-sized portion or at least spectacular food (given the price) - neither of which appeared. I've had much, much better gyros from street vendors; this one failed across the board. I so wish I had read other Yelp review first because everyone who claimed it is overpriced is totally on the ball! Definitely not worth the money.

Got a gyro with fries for lunch. The gyro was tasty and loaded with juicy slices of lamb, topped with generous amounts of lettuce, tomatoes, and tzatziki sauce. The fries were ordinary and definitely not necessary as the gyro was very filling. $8 for gyro with $2 more for fries. I find that the food truck prices in this area are steep so this seems to be on par with others. There were only 2 staff working in the truck and they were working very hard but unfortunately I waited 25 minutes for my food (which was most of my lunch break). For this reason I would give 3.5 stars but am rounding up because the gentleman taking my order was so friendly and even though I did not complain he thanked me for my patience when I received my order. Overall, I would recommend but only if you're not on a time schedule!

Give me one word to describe my pita sandwich: goopy. If I'm at a fair or something this will do over funnel cake or a fried Twinkie but there is enough good mediterranean food in the triangle and overall just better food trucks. I got a decent amount of food for $6 but I feel like it was less of a sandwich and more of a big ladleful of tzaziki. Also, please please please food trucks start using biodegradable to-go containers! Styrofoam isn't the only option and this food definitely isn't worth the guilt and impact of the container.

Got the lamb pita and it was pretty good - lamb was sliced more thinly than other places, but it had a good taste and texture. It came with lettuce, tomatoes and tzatziki. The tzatziki was really good and thick. $8, which I feel like is a little on the high side, considering other Greek and Turkish places that I go to are about $6.50 or less. Still, tasted good and wrapped nicely, so I'd say I'm a fan.

Gyros are one of my most favorite foods and I am always on the search for a place that has a memorable gyro! Being from Pittsburgh, Mike and Tony's has always won my heart when it comes to a good gyro. Moving to NC, it has been tough finding a replica. Mama Voulas gyros are so, so tasty and may be my favorite next to my hometown M&T's. The ingredients are always fresh and you can definitely taste that. The tzatziki is so good and isn't overwhelming with garlic; and, the portions of the meat in the pita are reasonable, as well. My only complaint is the price is a little on the higher end. I guess that's the norm for food trucks, though!
