The food is absolutely amazing! I'm not a huge pork belly fan but the bao buns were delicious- flavorful and lacking fat. We tried many dishes and nothing disappointed; in fact, every dish exceeded our expectations. I wasn't expecting much with the scallion pancakes but wow, we were pleasantly surprised at the taste and texture (crispy and perfectly prepared). I like ordering food at the counter- it allowed us to "stage" our food. The service is efficient and pleasant. The restaurant itself is busy (not surprising given the recent Bib Gourmand award) and we were lucky to be seated quickly with no wait. Will definitely return to MAKfam again (and again).

I decided to try this spot after hearing it had earned a Michelin star. The restaurant is smaller than expected, and the wait was quite long, but the food made it worthwhile. My wife and I ordered the corned beef fried rice, which was both unique and delicious. We also tried the maca wings; while they were flavorful, they were a bit too spicy for my taste. The salt and pepper chicken was a highlight, and the pork belly bao buns were outstanding. Their drink selection is also impressive--I got a fun tiki tiger mug with my cocktail, which added a nice touch. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth a visit. I'd recommend ordering takeout, though, to skip the long wait.

MAKFam is worth the hype! This fairly small, casual spot on the corner of 1st and South Broadway serves traditional Chinese dishes with a unique touch. The vibe is laid back and fun, which makes it perfect for dinner with a friend. For drinks - the Little Tiger was amazing. Not only do they set the drink on fire in front of you, but it's served in a cool tiger cup.For food - the greens are a must order. Even a vegetable hater would ask for more of them! The shrimp and chicken wontons were delicious, as were the sizzling spicy noodles.

WOW!! this was definitely one of my favorite restaurants that I've ever been to this year. I came here on a trip to Denver and I wish I lived in Colorado because I would definitely come here all the time. The service was incredible and fast, and the staff came to check on me several times. The ambience is definitely more on the relaxed side, which I actually prefer. Every single dish that I had was 10 out of 10!

Makfam was a last minute audible that me and my girlfriend made on our one day in Denver. We are so grateful to have stumbled on this spot. Super casual spot but the food is insane. We arrived during happy hour and got a bunch of deals. Everything we had was delicious. We both really enjoyed the bao bun and beef noodles. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Made sure to call out all the happy hour deals and were super patient. Definitely will be back and will recommend to all my friends who visit Denver.

This place actually is a Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant. Everything we had was very flavorful. Wonderful hot and very crispy chicken wings. The corned beef fried rice was super tasty and a nice size serving. I liked the beef stir fry but there was very little beef. Small venue but they make it worth it.

Wow! This quickly became one of my top five favorite spots for small bites when I'm downtown. It gets busy quickly, a good sign of where you want to eat. It is right across from Punch Bowl Social. MakFam delivers bold flavors and textures in every dish. The restaurant combines the fiery spice of dried chilies and the unique numbing sensation of Sichuan peppercorns to create a memorable dining experience. Here is what I tried on my visit: Chinatown Potstickers were a delightful start to our meal. Each dumpling was filled with a savory mix of chicken and chives, providing a perfect balance of flavors. They offered a delicious combination of textures topped with fresh cilantro and fried shallots, from the crispy exterior to the juicy interior. The cilantro added a refreshing touch, while the fried shallots provided a satisfying crunch. This dish is an umami-rich treat with the added depth of oyster sauce and sesame. Next up, my favorite of the night was the Málà Wings. After taking my first bite, I was amazed by the depth of flavor these wings deliver. I found that they were the winner of Westword's People's Choice Best Wings at Wings & Whiskey in 2024. These wings lived up to the hype. They are marinated overnight and fried to crispy perfection; the wings are coated in an irresistible málà seasoning and garnished with scallions. The crispy exterior and juicy interior created a delightful contrast, and the málà spices provided a refreshing kick. The Scallop Pancakes were good but my least favorite. Although they are an exemplary version of this classic dish, they did not offer the layers of crispy, flaky goodness I am used to. Stir-Fried Market Greens is perfect for the fried foods I took in. This dish showcased the chef's skill in turning simple ingredients into something spectacular. The stir-fried market greens, possibly Chinese broccoli or water spinach, were expertly cooked with fermented tofu, garlic, and a hint of sugar, enhanced by a splash of Chinese wine. The greens were fresh and vibrant, providing an outstanding balance to the spicy elements of the meal.MakFam offers an exciting exploration of málà cuisine, with each dish reflecting a thoughtful balance of numbing heat and rich umami flavors. Whether you're a fan of good Chinese food or looking to try something new, MakFam's offerings will leave a lasting impression.

Next to Snooze, there is no sign but on the door - so it's an easy miss if you are walking by.This is a take on mostly Cantonese American food with a more modern vibe. You order at the counter and they deliver it to your table. There is also a sweet bar area with happy hours everyday from 2-5pm.I'm half Cantonese American so I want to love it but I don't know ... there is a part of me that thinks it's very very overpriced for what it is, but I'm happy there is a new modern Cantonese vibe vs your diggy federal blvd and Chinatown feel. They were at Avanti before and while I like the food - I don't know if I would go out of my way for this place. It's decent but nothing special and I was kind of underwhelmed. This is a very carb heavy place, so don't come if u are looking for a lighter meal but there are vegetarian options. The Goods...1) I like the handmade dumplings and get a side of chili oil.2) Always get a pot of Chrysanthemum tea but it comes in these really weird small cups you pray to your dead ancestors with ...3) market greens are a must but FYI - they are always market price4) always do a bun5) the spicy chicken rice dish, needed a lot more of that ginger garlic sauce and I honestly would not get it again. It was the biggest disappointment but I was hungry.

Total disclosure, if I could vote for 10 of 5 stars, I'd totally do it. Whoa. This place BLEW us away. Every. Single. Bite. My only redo would be not to order house white wine with this food. My bad. Grab a beer or opt for water instead. Ok, on to the amaze balls food. My partner and I came on a Saturday afternoon and shared several plates. This is, hands down, my suggestion to you. There is no better way to get more deliciousness into your mouth. I have zero criticisms to share here. I so appreciated the bold flavors, the unexpected flavor combinations and the variety of yummy options. We had Chinatown dumplings, pork and chicken bao buns, house pickles, and the scallion pancake sammie. I couldn't take my eyes off of their banana cream black sesame pie, so we added that and still took home an order of the salt and pepper chicken and rice plate (I won the rock, paper, scissors for what we had there, lol). Every last bite was so incredibly good. My palette was happily overwhelmed and I wish o color share a more nuanced review on the actual flavors - they delighted and surprised me. We will be back, maybe tonight, lol. Omg. I am in love. Noah, if you're reading this, your banana cream pie recipe ROCKS!

Pretty cute hip asian fusion restaurant vibe with a bar facing out through window facing the street with some booths. Fast food style service to order food at cashier, they give you a number stand to bring food to your table. We tried all 3 bao buns with chicken, pork, and tofu for small plates. Also got beef stir fried noodles and salt & pepper chicken and rice plate. The food was pretty good.
