First time trying Magone's. Ordered chicken calzone, sauteed spinach and a side salad. They hit it on every item. Look forward to going back.

Stopped in for lunch and had a solid chicken parm sandwich with tasty fries. I also tried the zucchini fritti appetizer and cannot say enough great things about it. The zucchini fries were fresh and crisp, unlike typical restaurant fried zucchini; I'd go back just for this appetizer!I also had a piece of the chocolate pumpkin cake, layers of chocolate cake combined with layers of pumpkin, also very tasty.I would recommend Magone's without hesitation.

We stopped by after a soccer match and it's a cute little place. Very busy and the service was good. I had a salad but didn't love the dressing. My son had a Chicken Philly and side salad and he said it was great. They were doing a ton of takeout pizza orders and every table was seated so people in the area seemed to really support the restaurant.

The pasta was very rubbery the man was picking his nose and they allowed homeless people to enter as use the restroom which allowed for a nice suprise in the toilet

Went there with my son whose a spaghetti and meatball connoisseur. Had the caesar and calamari which was tender and slightly crispy. Nice marinara to pair. I had the shrimp scampi and he had guess what. I finished everything. The linguine was perfect al dente and fresh , the sauce was light and flavorful and the shrimp was big and cooked perfect.. I tasted the meatball and it was seasoned nicely and he enjoyed it thoroughly. Had 2 cannoli to go and the cream filling was very good. For the price around 70 dollars I think we did pretty good. I would go back to try other things but we won't be back in town anytime soon.

After having the Chicken Plicata at Magone's, I knew I had to give it five stars. While we have enjoyed many other items on the menu (great meatball sub), the plicata was outstanding. As close to what we used to get at the Italian places in upstate N.Y. Tender chicken and just the right balance in the sauce. The pasta that came with it was perfectly cooked. Plenty for two.

Let me tell you, I haven't been this impressed by a restaurant in...I don't even know how long!We are completely unfamiliar with the Raleigh-Durham/Chapel Hill area and only drove over there to spend the day with our daughter during her layover in Durham. I found Magone's on Yelp after getting totally turned around looking for a TJ Maxx and ending up 15 miles away from where we started. Thanks a lot Siri!Anyway, what a gem this place is! It was well after 8pm when we walked in and the place was totally empty of diners but appeared well-staffed for a Saturday night. Our server explained we had missed the 6:30 dinner rush when every seat was taken. We opted for a booth across from the kitchen & service window. Everything on the menu sounded mouthwatering so I asked our server what her favorite dish was and she said the Farfalle Pulcinella (Bowtie pasta, chicken & broccoli sautéed with garlic and served with Alfredo sauce), so that's what I ordered. My daughter ordered Chicken Piccata and my husband ordered Fettuccine Carbonara. Our meals included Focaccia bread which was fresh from the oven and came with an amazingly delicious dipping oil that included a purée of sun-dried tomatoes, olives, garlic & maybe even a little bit of magic sprinkled in it. We all added on a side salad. The hubs & daughter had Caesars and I went with a house salad that came with an unexpectedly yummy house-made Tomato Vinaigrette dressing. In perfect timing, our entrees came out right as we finished our salads. Now, I'm always reluctant to order pasta with chicken dishes in restaurants because I can't stand those pre-cooked, frozen chicken strips with the nasty tasting fake grill marks on them that so many restaurants use. The chicken and broccoli in my Pulcinella were fresh and cooked to perfection and there was plenty of both. The Farfalle was spot-on al dente, and I could tell the Alfredo sauce was house-made because it was creamy and nicely seasoned without being super thick and heavy. Everything was amazing!!!! Since we were sitting right across from the kitchen I could see through the service window and the whole time we were eating I watched the guys in the kitchen quietly cleaning. And cleaning. And cleaning. And cleaning. One guy wiped down everything from the front & top of the reach-in cooler to the vent hood at least twice. This place was spotless!!! Even though we were the only diners there everyone stayed busy doing or cleaning something. If I lived closer I would probably eat here every other day. Our server was sweet, patient and attentive without being intrusive, the place was immaculately clean, and the food was exceptional. There were no surprises on the bill when it arrived (except maybe a little surprised that they DID NOT charge us for the extra Focaccia we ordered). It was itemized and included both a "cash" total and a "credit card" total (which was only about $2.50 more). We all only drank water with dinner and our bill came to less than $63 before tip. All in all, finding Magone Italian Grill was 100% worth getting lost.
