Mac's Tavern

Mac's Tavern is a fun little bar in Philly, founded by Rob McElhenney and Kaitlin Olsen of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.If you're a big fan of Sunny, it's a cool place to see, and they also have a huge selection of beer and drinks to enjoy. Mac's also has a menu of some sandwiches, burgers, apps, soups, etc. If you're going to be there having a few drinks, there will be a few things to nosh on too.The atmosphere is similar to a dive bar, but very clean and with great service. It's not "themed" after Sunny or anything, so don't expect that. It's just a nice neighborhood bar, similar to what you'd seen in your own town!

First time visiting for a family lunch. Surprisingly delicious, except I would skip the calamari. Service was super friendly, & thankfully not the train wreck I predicted when it seemed the bartender was also the only server. He was fantastic! Would get get the bisque, the bang bang shrimp & the shrimp & grits again. The serving on the s & g was small, but it was good. They use huge shrimp in everything- yessss. My wife had the cutlet, I wasn't impressed when I took a few bites, but she seemed to like it ok.

3.5 stars.Decent place to hang in Old City. Mostly regulars here having a good time. Walked in on a whim last Friday night. Chill, seat yourself vibe. Decent draft list (maybe not the freshest selection but solid option. Full bar. I had the Mac's Tuna special $9 on Fridays. It looked pretty basic, but that tuna had real nice flavor. Service was friendly and attentive.

Good food at a good pub in Olde City on Market. Joined a few friends for snacks and a couple of cold ones. Definitely going back.

We really enjoyed our time here. Right as we walked in the Wrexham game was on and the place was buzzing! We were able to seat ourselves so we got to pick the spot we wanted even though the place was pretty full. It was definitely very lively with a few different sports playing, people cheering and lots of conversations. The staff told us right off the bat that they rotate through numerous draft choices so it's easiest to take a picture of the "draught list" on the chalkboard. My red & white chicken cutlet was so good! I'm kind of a sucker for chicken Parmesan so this was great. The gravy fries were sooooooo good, I literally had to stop myself. The staff was super attentive even though it was busy. Definitely a great place to hang out and just have a brew or eat a nice meal and watch a game. As soon as we are back in Philly, we'll definitely be going back to Mac's.

Had no idea about this bar. My buddy is a huge "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia" fan and had this on his Must See List when we spent a day in Philly back in October.We went in on a quiet Friday night and had a couple of drinks. I had a Vodka Tonic and he had a Moscow Mule. I wished my drink had a little more vodka in it, but it was still decent. One of his friends who was local to the area came through and we chopped it up for a couple of hours.Service was good and the server checked in on us a couple of times.All in all, a nice bar and one I'd visit again when in Philly.

Was here in Philly for PaxUnplugged. I love the show Always Sunny in Philidelphia and just got done watching Wrexham so I wanted to go to Mac's Tavern- Food was just okay but enjoyed the beer selection and had a great bartender.

An excellent Philly bar! Really enjoyed the few drinks we had in Mac's Tavern last night. Quick service and the bar is lovely. If you're an Always Sunny fan they've lots of photos on the walls of the cast which is an added bonus. Worth checking out

Awesome bar owned by Mac from Always Sunny. Was there on a Sunday and the bartender was amazing. She is the best!

Was in Philly and ate at Macs. Food was fine. Service was a little slow but good enough. I gave a decent tip 20%+. When I checked my statement, I noticed I was double charged. I called spoke to the manager who said she would take care of it and get back to me soon. Never heard from her and it was never taken care of. My husband called, spoke with the same manager and told the same story, it would be fixed with no issues. Still not fixed.I feel ripped off and annoyed simply for my generosity. If you go, watch yourself. They absolutely don't value their patrons.
