I wish I had photos to go along with this but I imagine you can find photos on this page somewhere. We went here for a team dinner and all did the Nigiri Omakase and WOW. Probably the best sushi/omakase I've had especially for that price. I truly enjoyed every one of the 13 nigiris which says a lot because I'm not terribly exploratory with fish and haven't like everything in other omakase experiences. I'd seriously recommend this restaurant and especially their omakase if you're thinking about coming. I really hope I come back because it was really THAT good.Thank you M sushi I'll have dreams about this meal.

I came here to celebrate my birthday and was a bit disappointing. The place itself is like a dark brick warehouse dungeon, but it was busy, and it had a good vibe. Kitchen has that open feel and we were seated across from it. Perfect view to see the plates coming out. Our server was amazing. She explained the menu to us and gave some recommendations. We tried the miso soup, the salmon sashimi, the tuna crispy rice, the rainbow roll, and the chocolate mousse for dessert. I wish I could say the rolls were good, but sad to say that I've had better at other places. The crispy rice on the roll was not crispy at all. It was soggy. The pieces on top of the rainbow roll were tiny and the sushi kept falling apart when picked up. I ordered simple dishes because I was here with my family, which included my kiddos. None of us were impressed. I reeaaaallly wanted to try the grand omakase but unfortunately everyone at the table had to participate and that was not going to happen. Few things; Definitely make reservations. Do not get confused by the restaurant on the corner which is also sushi. For some reason our directions took us there. They were kind enough to let us know we were looking for the restaurant next door. Parking is a bit complicated and busy. We ended up parking in a structure a bit down from the restaurant. We came on a weekday, can't imagine on a weekend. Be prepared. I, unfortunately, have no desires to come here again. It is a pricey sushi place and I don't think it was amazing for the price. Our favorite dishes were the miso soup and the dessert. Don't think that says much. Bummer. I apologize for the pictures. It was dark inside. Not the best.

***FOOD: Creative & Delicious Sushi. DUMPLINGS - definitely a must try, smelled and taste so good; EEL BUN - good, could use more teriyaki or unagi sauce as it seemed a little dry; M SPECIAL ROLL - very good the tempura shrimp inside was crispy & light; FUTOMAKI - one of the rolls I didn't like it was dry and far too big, fell apart when trying to eat it; TAMAGO & EEL NIGIRI - sweet tasty and freshly made; TUNA CRISPY RICE - wow it's an original dish. Didn't really hit all the notes, taste of pretty bland; MANGO CREPE CAKE - very very good and something different on a sushi restaurant menu***COST (OUT OF 4$) $$$ rolls are from $15-$20, Tamago nigiri is $7 for 2 pieces, Eel nigiri $12 & Eel Bun $15 for 2pcs***DÉCOR: looks like basement converted into dining space, lots of wood, dark, somewhat contemporary. No valet parking, street parking or parking garage parking only ***SERVICE: our server had negative vibes, like he didn't really want to be there but have to work to pay the bills, felt like we were troubling him by ordering and eating there. Not very welcoming or friendly, especially at the end of the meal. One star off for the service. ***RECOMMEND: YES WOULD RECOMMEND & will eat there again because of the food.

Off the charts awesome sushi - if you're a fan of sushi (and you likely are if you're eating here) go all-in and have Omakase. The Chef will set the course starting with lighter items and advancing to heavier flavors. The sushi itself was 'melt-in-your-mouth' delicious. The service is fast & friendly; the environment casual & hip. I'd recommend reservations - this spot seems very popular and rightfully so.

Best sushi I've ever had in my entire life. Ive been hearing about this place and have been wanting to check it out myself, and boy am I glad I did. I've realized I've been eating sub-par sushi my entire life. This sushi is grade A quality, I haven't had sushi like this anywhere else and I've been to some of the nicest restaurants in the world. Sitting at the bar and seeing them make the sushi fresh right in front of you, you can tell everyone in the kitchen is focused and passionate about making the best food possible and the perfect presentation on each plate. Watching them in action really adds to the experience & ambiance, knowing that there is love and passion going into every single piece of sushi. The service was great, there wasn't a moment we couldn't find our server or the dirty plates weren't immediately taken. Cooper also had great recommendations, the seared salmon roll and the m roll were absolutely fantastic. A must visit if you're in Durham looking for a great restaurant to visit! We drove from Greensboro just to have dinner here, and we would do it again.

Tonight was my first time dining here and I can now say that the hype is real - this restaraunt is amazing. I ordered the Futomaki roll and I think it was the best sushi roll I've ever had! There were so many different, unique flavors in the roll and they all paired beautifully together. The service and the ambiance were excellent as well, and I will for sure be back (once my wallet recovers)!

Hands down the best Sushi in the triad. I would stack this against any "big" city sushi restaurant. The Grand Omakase seems pricey but is a fabulous experience. The Lite Omakase is a great choice as well. Fourth visit here and never been disappointed.

All good things must come to endThere seems to have been a recent change in management and the current staff don't know the menu all that well. My issue was with the donburi, which we asked for without wasabi. We noticed that there was no tako in the dish and when we asked the waitress about it, she claimed that it was in there! The upper management was only able to clarify after checking with the chefs. Super weird that they didn't know or mention that taking out the wasabi meant no tako. The crudo and crispy tuna was not bad. We finished with the yuzu semifreddo which was way too sour. Overall, the experience here is a shadow of what it was in the past. Service was slow too. The new Cary location is much better

Came back for a special occasion meal and was once again disappointed. So expensive, mediocre flavors, no substitutions (we got the nigiri meal and I didn't want miso soup on a 90+ degree day but oh well). My dining companion got a house made soda that tasted like apple juice mixed with seltzer and was $6. I thought by getting the nigiri special we'd get the chef's pick of what was fresh and delicious, but I will venture to guess it was really just what they had to use up. Also, it was uncomfortably warm inside for it being basically in a basement. That's another thing- for such high costs I'd expect a little more as far as ambiance. Service was fine but they turned our table in about 45 minutes and we dropped a lot of money (that tends to happen when you don't order alcohol- they want you out quick). Kind of a bummer.
