I was going to give them a three but there was a chef who saw my cousin's shirt and decided to gift her an amazing dessert so this really was a thoughtful gesture. We were so excited to come here but once we arrived our excitement declined rapidly. We came here for brunch at 1pm on a Sunday and they were already out of the chilli biscuits and the boudin Benedict dishes, which was disappointing since that is what they are know for. However, we did get the oxtail tamales (delicious!), chicken and waffles, catfish and grits, the croissant French toast and the regular chicken and waffles. They were very busy, we put our drink order in and then our food order but then our food arrived and we were halfway done before our drinks came out. I had to also chase someone down to get the second order in. It was just super hectic and disjointed. I'd love to come back because the food was delicious, maybe I'll come back when it's not too busy. Overall, fun place to go to for brunch and the food was truly amazing.

We arrived during a busy Saturday with no reservations. The host deftly negotiated a spot for us at the bar in between cancellations.Ok, the food: loving expressions of Southern cooking: catfish and grits, oxtail tamales and greens. This isn't just home cooking, it's good cooking.

If you're looking for a great black owned brunch spot in Houston, look no further than Lucielle's! Lucille's has a great backstory, but the food is great! I prefer the brunch menu over the dinner menu. I think the brunch scene has a great vibe with live music, outdoor seating and great food. They also have great cocktails that a blends perfectly with the menu. My favorite item on the menu is the French toast and fried chicken. The service is good, but be mindful that they are very busy so you may have to wait a little bit. Everyone in Houston should try Lucielle's once!

Houston boasts a plethora of dining options, yet even the best establishments often come and go. Statistics show that approximately 60% of new restaurants shutter within their first year, and 80% within five years nationwide. However, Lucille's defies these odds, having thrived in the competitive market for over 11 years--an impressive testament to their enduring appeal. What sets them apart? It's their unwavering commitment to a clear vision, evident from the moment you step into their cozy dining space to your first savory bite from their Soul-food-with-a-twist menu.Their menu strikes the perfect balance--not overly pretentious, yet infused with just enough creativity to elevate traditional soul food. With each menu item, I found myself captivated and eager to sample everything. So, my companion and I decided to indulge in an array of starters and share a main course.Review in progress...French Kiss (cocktail): B+Texas Hold'em (cocktail): AFamous Chili Biscuits: AWatermelon Salad: AOxtail Tamales: A+Baked Mac n Cheese: A-Yardbird: A Served with Braised Greens: A+ & Mashed Potatoes: ALemon Ice Box Pie: B-

Lucille's has held it down every time for me and consistent ! The oxtail omelette comes with enough meat that I don't feel cheated, a bit more gravy would be perfect. Adding a side of grits with cheese, wish the cheese was bit more melted but I don't want to be too picky. The crossiant French toast, wasn't overly sweet as I was hesitant to try it. But it was the right sweet with the wings savory. Parking is busy in this area in general so I recommend valet for $10.

Nestled atop the rolling hills, my recent dining experience at this establishment transcended mere satisfaction, evoking a sense of ethereal bliss. Following a day spent traversing the vibrant streets of Houston, my anticipation for a memorable dinner was palpable, and this venue exceeded every expectation. If one could encapsulate the quintessence of a perfect dining experience - encompassing an inviting atmosphere, impeccable environment, tantalizing cuisine, and delightful company - this establishment embodies it all flawlessly. From the moment the valets gracefully took charge of my vehicle to the lingering taste of the last bite, every facet of the evening was meticulously orchestrated to perfection. While a brief wait ensued for our table upon arrival, the swift and attentive service swiftly whisked us to our seats, ensuring a seamless transition. As we perused the menu, tantalizing options beckoned, yet our appetite was piqued by the allure of the famed chili biscuits. This unexpected culinary delight surpassed all preconceptions, with a perfect harmony of chili, cheese, and fluffy biscuit, setting the stage for an exceptional culinary journey.Venturing further into the gastronomic realm, our selection of main courses beckoned, each offering a symphony of flavors and textures. The catfish, delicately perched atop a bed of creamy grits, boasted a crispy exterior yielding to tender, succulent flesh, enhanced by an array of herbs and spices. Similarly, the fried chicken, with its golden-brown exterior and moist, flavorful interior, paired harmoniously with the velvety mashed potatoes, creating a symphony of flavors that danced upon the palate.Credit must be duly bestowed upon the visionary owner and the culinary maestro behind the scenes. Though their identities remain shrouded in mystery, their dedication to culinary excellence is palpable in every meticulously crafted dish. Their culinary creations not only bring joy to patrons but also serve as an inspiration, urging us all to aspire to greatness in our respective endeavors. In conclusion, this establishment stands as a beacon of culinary excellence, a testament to the transformative power of exceptional cuisine. To anyone seeking an unforgettable dining experience, I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to this gastronomic haven, where every dish is a masterpiece waiting to be savored. I eagerly await my return to embark on another culinary odyssey, eager to explore the myriad delights that await within these hallowed walls.

Idk how I've gone this long without leaving Lucille's some love. I've patronized this business for atleast 3 years, and if it speaks to their consistency, I've yet to have a poor experience. I've enjoyed a few of their pop up events on the patio, the Prince patio take over being my favorite. From the cocktail to the fried green tomatoes, to the chicken and waffles, I've yet to experience an unsatisfying meal here. Things to know: *You have two parking options: street parking as available and valet *Casual dress is usually the vibe *If you arrive during peak hours expect a wait. Their waiting area is on the exterior patio.*Given the nature of the place, and true to its vibe, a few tables feel a bit cozy. This restaurant is a tribute to culinary legacy. Expect fine southern food (comforting and homey but take it up a notch), leave happy!

We ordered Lucille's for an office lunch. Our order originally consisted of a pan of fried chicken, 1/2 pan of blackened catfish, 1/2 pan of mac n'cheese, 1/2 pan of mashed potatoes, 1/2 pan of green beans and a pan of Caesar salad and a pan of rolls. We were forewarned by the restaurant that their prices had increased from last year when we had ordered the same thing. We decided to forego the mashed potatoes (last year's pan was very dry), salad (it was $84) and rolls ($90). The chicken was good but we received a pan of mostly dark meat and a few wings -- no other white meat was provided. It seems that if you are ordering a "pan" of chicken for $125, that you ought to at least get equal amounts of all parts of the chicken. Very disappointing since we had several who do not eat dark meat.
