Los Tres Mexican Restaurant

Plenty of parking and decent size place. Huge new menus with pictures of all meals and choicesPrices are good, servings are good size. Went with a group of 6 and everyone liked their food and drinks.I ordered the tacos de Pastor, tasted great and came with rice and refried beans.The only odd things areHad to request chips and salsa and the salsa appeared and tasted like Pace picante sauce you buy in the jar from the store and they did not have charro beans. I asked to sub charro beans for refried but they only have black beans or refried...odd for a Mexican restaurant but I am from Texas so charro beans could be a Texas thing..also in Texas most Mexican places make their own salsa and we judge many by their chips and salsa.Over all good food at good prices. We visit again next time I'm visiting my daughter.

We were dropping our son off at college and decided to stop in for dinner. Very dark and dim on the inside.While the restaurant provided us with large portions of food, It was just okay. Nothing to get excited about or anything that would make you want return. The dishes lacked flavor and the queso was really watery. Service was mid at best.

Hearty portions, quick friendly and very attentive service. Clean and colorful restaurant, but sort of packed in close. I had my standby--fajita quesadilla and my some had a beef burrito. Rice was only okay--nothing special. My quesadilla was a bit greasy. It tasted good. Chips were nice and crunchy. Table side service making homemade guacamole looked interesting. Our neighbors ordered it and like I said, so crowded, I felt she was was at our table.

Craving Mexican food is an American past time. There are so many American style Mexican restaurant it's hard to know what is authentic. Well, in Durham it's difficult to find but Los Tres comes close. The interior is bigger then I expected with bench like seating and decorated with kitschy Mexican that is bright and cheery. The service was good. We didn't order alcohol drinks but their margaritas looked great... huge! I didn't take a photo but I had a huge tamale and taco combination. The dinners are ginormous! Each come with beans and rice. There are lunch options. The chips and salsa were tasty and I got more salsa for my meal. The guacamole is super creamy not chunky. That is strange for me but still very good.

Stopped in for a late lunch and ordered the sampler which came with chorizo cheese dip, chicken rolls and guacamole. Everything was tasty and came out quickly.

Good food and good service! Will definitely come back! Steak is really tender and with lots of flavor

If looking for American friendly Mexican food with a flavorless or chemical twist, then this is the place for you! Not crowded on a Wednesday evening and looking like so much fun we were seated in a booth near the bar. We wanted to watch the injury plagued Cavs lose in 5 to Celtics. This had no impact on our dining experience as it was half time when we left after a less than scintillating food experience. But if you like your salsa saucy and your enchiladas underwhelming or downright off putting, then hurry on over. Must be the margaritas or corporate authenticity decor because this one has been around a while. No smiling among the staff usually indicates something is not going well, but there was plenty of help. With so many better options nearby I would say their clientele is searching out tepid fare or the shopping convenience of this location. Our meals stayed down and that is good enough for 2 stars. I think they are satisfied with with 3 so maybe Los Tres Estrella Mexican Restaurant is where we were.

We had the pastor tacos and enchiladas. Not good. There was some taste or seasoning that really threw us off and both people at the table noticed it. The service was nice and the atmosphere has potential. Will not come back due to quality of food. The salad was a joke. Sadly the refried beans were the best thing on the plate.

Cheese dip was no good and ground beef was tasteless. Overall kind of nasty. Too many good Mexican restaurants in the area to come here
