Los Pericos Mexican Restaurant

We were in Huntsville, Texas wanting some good Mexican food. This place had been recommended by some friends, so of course we went. Soooo very glad we did. We went at lunch time. It wasn't packed although it was during the week. We ordered the margaritas, the lunch special of two fajita enchiladas and the fried Alvarado, taco and cheese enchilada. Wow. The hot sauce and chips were spot on. Please keep in mind this is a warm temperature wise salsa and not the standard salsa. It was wonderful and reminded me of all the years growing up with my uncle's hot sauce. The meals were so tasty. The fried Avocado was better than Trudy's in Austin. It was stuffed with a beef carne asada or you can have chicken or shrimp. The cheese was stringy and plentiful. The enchiladas had great flavor Absolutely love this place. They even had a margarita flight but we didn't try it. This place is great if you are ever in the area.

The food is authentic Tex-Mex and always great! The service is always on point and it's a great atmosphere so long as they keep the TVs off of the fakey news and on to sports. We have been coming here since they first opened in Huntsville and continue to do so.

We had our class reunion here and they did a good job with as many people who popped in and out as we had. The Quesadillas were good. Plate sizes were about right.They are where I would hold a large group get together if I had to hold it in Huntsville.

This is a nice Mexican restaurant in a shopping plaza. We all enjoyed our meals. The food is very good. Unfortunately, our service was terrible. We were seated at the front entrance at a large table so you would have thought we would have quicker service... not the case. And I must point out they were not overly busy. Took too long to get drink refills and our check at the end.Food-wise we would definitely eat here again... the service would be the only deterrent.

The food is consistently delicious and the margaritas are available in so many yummy flavors. The service is friendly and fast. While the restaurant has a happy bustle of friends and family, the bar is always hopping! We love it!

I already left a 5 star review here, but I enjoyed it so much when I went back that I had to leave another good review. The waitress who seated us gave us an option for which table to sit at. This time I had chicken fajitas and they were delicious. The waiter made jokes and was very funny, and the food came very quickly and it was a great meal and a relaxing experience.

We went w/ a group of 14 & had made "reservations" for the "private" room. I will give them credit for being able to separate the 4 different checks. The place was clean. BUT, the food was expensive for what it was & how it was served. I'm glad I only ordered queso, charro beans & tortillas. After more than an hour, they served food that was either cold, or had been sitting under heat lamps to the point it was congealed. The tortillas were gummy, smelled sour, & tasted terrible. The soda isn't correctly balanced. I won't even list how many orders were wrong or delivered to the wrong person. We only found one waitress who could speak/understand English enough to take our orders. All the food issues aside, I needed to use the restroom as we were leaving. When I went inside a younger waitress w/ black hair w/ dyed red peekaboo under the back was coming out of a stall & told me there was no toilet paper & she was going to get some. After waiting for a while, I stepped out to tell my husband that I was waiting. As I opened the bathroom door, I found the waitress primping & fluffing her hair in the mirror hanging on the wall to the left of the bathroom door. She didn't even acknowledge me & continued. It took her another 10 minutes to locate the toilet paper & bring it back. I wouldn't have waited if we didn't have such a long drive home.

We dine at Los Pericos every time we visit Huntsville. The menu is remarkably diverse with a wide array of delicious main courses, appetizers, desserts and margaritas. The service is unbeatable. I look forward to eating there again during our next visit to Huntsville. Highly recommended!
