I was in the area and wanted Mexican food. I did not want the 'Houston Standard' also known as Pappasito's. I found I wasn't far from this restaurant. It's a family-owned restaurant and you are treated like family when you walk I. There was a large grounds crew eating lunch when I arrived, so I knew the good had to be good. The chips and salsa were good (make sure to ask for the verde also because they only usually bring rojo sauce), but after speaking with the owner, I learned the food is from the 'Puebla region' of Mexico so a little different from our standard TexMex--just what I was looking for! I ordered the beef enchiladas and they came with this diabolical looking red sauce and were baked with a sort of different white cheese (not as runny and greasy as you'd normally see). Lucky for me, the sauce wasn't nearly as spicy as it looked (a little ... sweet even) and I enjoyed them. The enchiladas were fresh and the meat was seasoned well. On top were three rings of raw onions. I thought that was an odd combination, but I tried it and it ... worked. The rice was good and so were the refried beans. I had a huge Jamaica to wash it down If in the area again, I would go back. Super nice and good food.

I had the mole enchiladas and my son had the beef quesadillas, both were really good. I liked the champurrado here because they don't use milk. I love champurrado but usually can't have any because of the milk. I am definitely returning to this establishment to try other things on the menu. Staff were nice and welcoming. The restaurant was clean, the only thing that bothered me a little bit was the music, it was a tad loud for me, but I'm just old and prefer quiet.

If you can't eat meat on Friday's or if you're craving enchiladas, then come check this place out. This place is a mom and pop place, not to be confused with Los Cucos. Don't let the exterior scare you away. Their restaurant is in a small shopping area and features the best cheese enchiladas in town bar none. Old phrase (look it up kids). If you can name a place that's better, please share. I mean, look at that cheesy goodness. The portions are big and is a great bang for the buck. The refried beans have a smokey flavor and are well blended, while the rice is light and fluffy. Everything is delicious. You really can't go wrong. If you are on this side of town, it's a must try.

This restaurant was very clean and nicely decorated. I ordered the beef fajita taco plate with charro beans. The beans were probably one of the best I've ever eaten and the rest of the food was Just as delicious. The green sauce was nice and spicy and I could drink the red salsa it was so good. The server was nice and attentive. I will definitely be back!!!

If you're looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant in Houston, this is the place! It's in a super small complex of businesses but has so much potential. This place is beautifully decorated with Hispanic history, culture and memorabilia. The service was fantastic and had that great southern hospitality. Fish was 10/10! Would definitely go back.

I order to go food for a friend and I and the food was bland with no flavor. She got the chicken quesadilla and it came soggy and the guacamole was black. I order the parrillada for 1 , the shrimp were dry and the other meat had no flavor. They did have hand made tortillas. But the parrillada came with no fixings like sour cream lettuce , guac and no salsa! Very disappointing. I came based on reviews and did not match.

I would like to start this review by saying that the food is really tasty. The only reason I stopped going was because of the prices. I felt it was too expensive. Even though I like the taste, because of the price I go down the street instead and pay less for the same food.
