Los Campesinos Mexican Restaurant

Thanks to Yelp for helping us find this gem close to our hotel while visiting Houston. We enjoyed the queso, tacos, and margaritas!

My first time at this restaurant, I decided to make a trip because of the good reviews service was amazing. Food was full of flavor, and the environment was truly welcoming can't wait to come back and try something else

This place was amazing. There was a group of 12 of us who flew in from all different areas of the US to celebrate birthdays. Once we left the airport we decided to Google a Mexican restaurant. This was the first one that popped up. This was by far the best choice the food was real authentic Mexican food they took their time preparing it. The staff were amazing. When we arrived to the restaurant there were no one in the restaurant we asked the waitress if we could change the music she gave us her iPad and she allowed us to monitor the music throughout her dining experience. And the drinks were amazing. The restaurant was clean. And the staff are bilingual. We all left their very happy and tipped them very well. Thank you for a great experience if I ever return I will make sure to visit you all soon as I exit the airport

Ordered and paid for 6 tacos... got home and only got 4. I called them to let them know, and the lady kept arguing with me that they gave us 6. They are Hella proud of their taco prices too... on top of that to get it wrong come on guys!

Realize un peque evento donde me ofrecieron un excelente servicio no fue así, los platillos estaban incompletos y después me los cobraron como extras siendo que ellos no respetaron lo que me ofrecieron, además de cobrar 10 platillos de mas y a mis invitados también les cobraron bebidas de mas

This is a classic example of a "hole in the wall" type place; that's a compliment by the way. My entire experience from walking in the door and leaving was exceptional. Friendly people, great tasting food, exceptional service, etc!

It was my first time going to this restaurant, the service sucked sadly. My total was $70 bucks. The next day when my payment posts to my bank it was $81 they pulled from my card. Poor service AND they tipped themselves without MY consent. That's theft no matter the amount.

Don't judge a book by it's cover applies here. Inside was very clean and the staff welcoming. The salsa had some kick and the chips were fresh but not warm or salted which would have been nice.I had the special combination which included two cheese enchiladas (really cheesy) , two grilled shrimp which tasted fresh and some beef fajita which was surprisingly tender. The rice was very good and the charro beans were probably the best I have ever had.Definitely on my list to return to when I am in the area.

We really enjoy eating here. The service is excellent. Food comes quickly and at the correct temperature. The salsa is homemade and served warm. Very delicious with just the right amount of pepper heat. Tonight I had tacos al carbon. The meat was tender and flavorful. I think the tortillas are freshly made. They were very good. I really like the charro beans. The avocado is real, not like some of the fake mixture you get nowadays. (I have only one small complaint. Three of the overhead light fixtures were flickering, causing a strobe light effect. If anyone who is sensitive to that flicker sat under one of those lights., they would get a head ache quickly. )Please note that their prices are slightly higher than they were when the menu pictures were posted. But it is still reasonable and you definitely get your money's worth.

Think of a hole in the wall and then multiply that by 10. If I hadn't read the previous reviews, I would have never had the nerve to stop in and have some great food! No one is here but me, mama, papa and la hija! Order the double margarita. Pretty standard in most places if you want to taste the tequila. The ceviche tostada was adventurous on my part and it was very good. Not like an upscale place using T10 shrimp, they used the more affordable cocktail shrimp but it was done up nicely and tasted great! Followed by 2 exceptionally well seasoned Al pastor soft tacos and another margarita. About 35 bucks with tip. Great food for a great price. I'm happy!!BTW - it's clean, bright and cheery inside! Bring the family and friends. Just park and go inside - then you will be happy too!!
