Service was very slow and the shrimp Was overcooked and too salty. I had pork chops that were good. We came in and sat at a booth and watched 3 tables get service before us. I had to ask for someone to take our orders. Usually the food is good and service is good but not today!

Good southern cooking in Brenham, Tx. This place was full in the mid-afternoon on a Saturday. The waiter said the chicken fried steak was their most popular dish so we tried it. It was big and flavorful, and could be shared by 2 people. The Mac and cheese is amazing. Get 2 sides of that versus the mashed potatoes which were just okay. The service was good too. We didn't wait long for our food and we had a party of 6. Easy in and out off of hwy 290 with adequate parking.

Not having a proper goodbye to what use to be the former K-Bobs kind of took the wind out of my trip of nostalgia back to my childhood stomping grounds this past weekend, but the replacement is so spectacular and scrumptious. I had to show some love to the upgraded establishment! I don't know if the place changes owners or the owners decided to try something a littleorr snazzy with the name and interior but the Lone Star Grill delivers a powerful punch of great food, service, and a spacious and welcoming dining experience that is enjoyed by only a few or even a group if you so desire. We were greeted and seated upon entering but immediately noticed the interior changes. The dining area is way more spacious and airy with lots of natural light with the addition of windows. Great investment!Once more, the other dining section that provides a little more intimacy as well as a group dining area still has natural lighting and even more social interaction if you like to talk when you eat (people still do that right)? I enjoyed dining with my Mom, catching up with some news and tea on my visit to the country, which I always appreciate doing during a meal. Ambiance is great, but without delicious food? why bother?! Lone Star actually delivered in this area as well, providing a vast menu that was reminiscent of the old KBobs menu items but with some additions such as pastas and desserts. I decided, however, to enjoy fish Friday with a filet of fried catfish. okra, and Mac n cheese. I was not disappointed in any of the items that were filling, crunchy, and cheesy - not too much salt at all - seasoned just right! Tasted the squash casserole and fried sheimp.from.my Mom's plate. I liked that the casserole actually had ample veggies in it versus a bunch of cheese and butter. Additionally, the fried shrimp were nicely sized - large or jumbo for sure. You definelty get your money's worth! Once more, to celebrate my birthday, my Mom insisted on bday dessert. My all-time favorite was on the menu (peach cobbler) with ice cream on top, so indulging was a must. A little more cooking was needed on the peaches, but the ice cream made the difference! Really enjoyed the meal and new interior changes that come with Lone Star. Although it's hard to say goodbye to an oldie but goodie of KBobs, you'll be greatly pleased to come dine at Lone Star anytime!

Really impressed! I had heard a not so great review but decided to try it. Alex, our server, was great and very patient with my pregnant self and BFF who is also pregnant. We wanted all the things. We started with the little this little that appetizer and the cheese sticks and fried mac & cheese were all you want with friend cheese deliciousness! I'm not a friend pickle chip fan (I prefer spears) but my friend really enjoyed them. The queso I wouldn't order again, but chips were good. I got the chicken fried chicken with fried okra and squash casserole. The squash casserole was amazing! Everything was very tasty. My friend got the chicken tenders and there were so many! We were too full to get dessert but will definitely be back to try more.

We hit the spot after a band concert at the college down the street. We waited at the hostess stand and the sweet girl had to answer the phone, take online orders, AND do her regular hostess duties. She was doing a good job trying to juggle it all but we were finally seated by a waitress. Our table was in the front room which was much more pleasant and bright than the main dining room. Although you are seated near the bathrooms and parking lot, it actually wasn't too bad as far as establishments near a highway can go. Our waiter was very attentive and pleasant. We ordered fried pickles which were just regular fried pickles. Edible. We were going to order salad but figured we were at a place that is probably known for stick to your ribs kind of food...we ordered chicken fried chicken and chopped sirloin steak to share. They were both good. I liked the broccoli. The squash casserole wasn't my fave. They brought rolls as a little starter; which was a general dinner roll. They were warm and the butter was tasty. What butter isn't tasty? Am I right? It's a good next to the highway joint. Drop in if you are traveling or need a quick bite.
