Why is the health score a 91?!? This is a restaurant which serves food to people. Need to take this more seriously or someone will get sick. I have been there many times and have always enjoyed the sushi, but now I will wait until the health score improves before I come back. This 91 score is disappointing to see. Please focus on improving this.

I used to LOVE this restaurant. The owners were wonderful and always went above and beyond. The food was fantastic, and it even had some of my favorite preparations of dishes in the area. We would order from here once or twice a month and enjoyed every meal!However.... earlier this year, the owner and management changed. They claimed it would be the same food/recipes/chef, but the quality went WAY down. We thought that maybe they were still just trying to get the hang of things, so we gave them a few chances, but it has gotten worse with time unfortunately. I used to love the udon noodles here, but they're just a soggy mess now. The teriyaki recipe is 100% different now than it was: it's much more basic now and not special like it once was. My daughter still enjoys the gyoza, but the prices increased there, and it's a struggle for the rest of the family to find anything worth trying. Also, when the transition first occurred, I ordered Japanese-style gyoza on a take-out order and the restaurant abbreviated the name of the dish to include a racial slur towards Japanese-Americans that was used especially during WWII (I'm sure unintentionally, but it never should have been seen by a customer; choose to abbreviate Japanese as "JPN" instead of a different trio of letters). From any restaurant, this shouldn't happen, but especially not from a Japanese restaurant! I did test this another time to see if it would happen again, and it did not thankfully. I had been so upset seeing the slur on the food that first time!Anyhow, this spot isn't what it was. I'm on the search for a new go to Japanese restaurant now!

This unassuming, strip mall restaurant was an incredible surprise.I needed a quick solo lunch today. And it's been a while since I had good sushi in the area. So thanks to yelp, and great reviews... I decided to try. They have a pretty good menu, but the star really is the sushi. Very clean, fast service... Delicious fish!I had their sushi Bento box, which was a great way to try a bunch of their offerings. It came with miso soup, salad, four pieces of California roll and five pieces of fresh nigiri. It was $15 for the lunch box and I was satisfied. Their other sushi offerings looked good- I will say comparatively it looks like their pricing is a little higher than what I have seen out there in the area, but excellent quality and great service.

The amount of broth that came with my udon was actually comical and embarrassing. It also tasted like water and the noodles were over cooked. Granted, I asked for no veggies but I'd expect a full container of 'soup'. Don't think we'll be back here, which is unfortunate because the other reviews were so positive. Note to the owners, if this is the normal amount of broth that is served, might I suggest a smaller container to not draw quite as much attention to the price tag?

Very confused by all of the positive reviews. We came because it has great ratings and it just does not live up to the hype. The sushi was ok. The fish was not as fresh as you'd like it to be but the biggest miss was the rice. There was way too much but it was also stale and hard. I picked out the fish from the rolls but it just emphasized the low quality of the fish itself to eat it separately. The hot rolls were better because the rice kind of rehydrated with the heat. Huge portions but it's about 50% rice. It's definitely not the nicest spot and we almost left when we pulled up. We should have. The thing that really tipped it was seeing how dirty the waiters nails were when he refilled my water touching every inch of the lip of the glass in the process. Gross.

I've been coming to Little Tokyo Sushi for over 4 years. The food is always delicious!!! Since it went under new ownership the service is fallen behind. They are polite but the take out orders get backlogged so don't expect quick service. Obviously they are doing something right since there is so much demand but the wait is becoming a deterrent. Hoping they figure it out before I find a new favoriteA full hour after ordering takeout and my food wasn't ready.

We come here at least twice a week and leave happy every time! The owners are really nice and the atmosphere is so chill. I can't recommend this place enough. The bento boxes are SO good. There are some unique and fun options for onigiri, so def give those a try.
