KATY, TX 77493 / AMERICAN / 01-09-24 / LUNCH+Cafeteria-style hot food bar along with a made-to-order salad station.+The pricing is fairly reasonable.+The restaurant decor gives off a nice, homey vibe. Plenty of seating space.-Drink options are limited; please add more beverage options.-No specialty dish that Keith Lee would line up to try.-Entrees and side dishes could definitely improve.-No designated area to place used trays/dishes/utensils.What we ordered:1 Daily Special Plate with two sides $9.991 Large Salad $8.851 8oz Soup $5.99This restaurant is across from Katy's In-N-Out Burger and in the same shopping strip as Little Caesars and Papa Geno's Steak & Cheese. If you're not in the mood for a sandwich/burger or pizza, give this place a try and give them some Yelp love, y'all.

Visited last night. Staff was nice and courteous. The mashed potatoes were fridge-cold. Food did not have much flavor. Salad - meh. Drink selections were limited. We would have gotten better food elsewhere for the same price. Now, this was a deal breaker for me: this place is not baby friendly. No changing station in restroom. No high chairs that could be seen.Overall, I'll just say this: The cafeteria food at Memorial Hermann Katy is much better in my opinion. Will not visit again.

We waited and waited for this place to open and I decided to take my husband on his bday. The staff was friendly enough and very attentive but, we had no real idea how to navigate the restaurant. There a salad bar and hot food but, I think they're purchased separately. Immediately walk in and feel like your in Wonderland, like wondering who, what and why? The food options on the steam tables were very limited, lukewarm and bland. I had the mashed potatoes and gravy which were not terrible but the chicken spaghetti was not it. My husband had the hamburger steak I tasted it after he said he didn't like it and I thought it was at best edible more so than the chicken spaghetti. They have rolls and corn bread not sure if it's an added extra or they come with the meal. They have a very small ice machine that sits in the counter I'm pretty sure it won't be able to keep up if there ever was a huge demand for tasteless and barely edible food. I want so much to love this place it's amazing inside how the decor is but, sadly that just doesn't cut it.

Food was delicious! If you enjoy home cooked food better than mom makes it you will love this place. The service was great and the ambiance was very down home feeling with vibrant murals on all of the walls. Again, if you are a fan of a good, hearty home cooked meal this is a must try.

+ Great, homey, barn-like feel + Reminded me of a Ponderosa, King's, Eatin' Park type soup and salad bar vibes + service was fast and everyone was friendly + food 4/5 - not baby friendly. I had to change our baby's diaper on the floor in the restroom, so that wasn't nice.- no high chairs, they did say that had been ordered but haven't come in yet

Amazing place, atmosphere, service, and food!! Exceeded all of our expectations. My wife said it reminded of her grandmas cooking, very delicious! My wife and I had the pot roast with 2 sides. I had green beans and bake beans, she had green beans and carrots. We both had cheesy garlic breads. All for $9.99 each. Great value and great tasting foods. We will be coming back often. They have daily specials, hot plate with 2 sides for $9.99, or small or large salads, or salad with soup special for $9.99. If you haven't tried yet, I highly suggest you stop in.

Sweet staff, casual dining, comfort food. Less than $10 for a large pile of salad anyway you want it. The specials change weekly I believe. We had two orders of the Baked Chicken with rice, mashed potatoes, green beans, and carrots. The Baked Chicken was stellar and the carrots were the best I've ever had at a restaurant. $8+ for a large heaping of fruits and it was mostly apples so not a fan of that. No soda fountain, iced tea available, and water from a pitcher. Small ice maker so I wonder if they run into issues during the lunch rush when people want a lot of iced tea. I wish them all the best.

We decided to give this place a try after seeing it for a while. When we walked in, we were greeted and were told the specials and available entrees. The concept was explained to us as well- salad bar to the right, hot food to the left. My kids had a child portion of spaghetti with two sides, my husband got the hamburger steak and I pot roast. Everything was delicious and the portions are generous. We also tried the banana pudding which was delicious. In a world of chain restaurants, these home cooked meals were a welcome change. For the portion sizes, the value is excellent.

Food was great and staff was friendly. It's nice inside and real food at a better price than a drive thru combo meal. We'll be back for sure!

My wife and I ate there on January 28. The decor is attractive. They have a good-looking salad bar, but we were hungrier than that, and went straight to the "entrees." I had the hamburger steak and my wife had the stew. I thought the food was really tasty; reminded me of mom's home cooking. Yes, my hamburger steak was a bit overcooked, as was the cornbread (included in the price), but not so much as to keep me from coming back. They'll make the minor tweaks to get it right. I thought it was a satisfying meal, and good value for the money. Katy doesn't have anything else like this, and I hope they'll be a success.
