The food was amazing. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because we were there for a total of 3 hours. The service wasn't that great.

Five stars for the amazing flavorful food! Service was slow, our server was friendly but a bit forgetful when it came to ordering drinks. Overall the food was awesome and my table was absolutely stuffed with happiness. I believe we ordered the veggie combo and addited shiro and lamb tibs as well as the raw meat (and cooked). I highly recommend everything!

I grow up here in Clarkston and LOVE Ethiopian food and its culture. I've learned to cook Ethiopian food growing up with my friends here throughout elementary and high school., my favorite place to eat was the original l" Ledet" restaurant next to DeKalb College. The restaurant was small yet full of culture and offered authentic Ethiopian cuisine. I brought the family out to this new location on Memorial Drive and was highly disappointed . When I walked into the restaurant, I was not greeted by anyone.. they do have a hostess stand but we stood there looking around for about 2 to 3 minutes, I had to flag a lady at the bar.We were then quickly approach by a young lady, who was welcoming . I do apologize that I do not remember her name. She seated us and let her know that we were regulars of the old location and knew exactly what we wanted to feast on.. After picking out the lentils and veggies, we wanted, she quickly brought over my drinks and Tej( honey wine) that was ordered. There were tables that was there before, but we noticed that after being seated within 10 minutes we received our food which was a bit odd because there were people there. I honestly feel we were stereotypes because we were American descent . The food that we received was straight out of the refrigerator and was on a single serving plate. She did apologize for the cold food left, and went into the kitchen and came back with only the lentil that I allowed her to touch in a plate in spoons to remove the kernels off our platter and replace it with the one red lentil. At this point, I rage, my daughter and I looked at each other and shook our heads at that moment it had been confirmed that we were being discriminated against and treated differently because we were American. When this happened, I expressed the waitress still very kindly, but she can tell by my facial expression and my daughter's face that we were extremely unhappy. by this time, the platter with the fish came out that my son was the only one who wanted to eat begin to indulging yes it was hot and fresh. my son, we asked her to please pack up the food to go. She looked very disappointed, but she understood that we were upset at that point.. nothing we paid full price for everything and didn't eat a thing except for the whole fried fish that was cooked to order like everyone else's food in the restaurant was served fresh and warm . The veggie platter that we received was refrigerator cold and tasteless. It had no spice or seasoning as if we could not handle or knew the cuisine.. I also noticed that other people ( Ethiopian ) coming into the restaurant were not given these. " new " menus that we were given. Which we didn't even need.....I remember one of the original owners at the old location was a thin, dark female . She never treated us like this, and it is very obvious that she has nothing to do with this new location because she would not stand for it... needless to say my family and I were highly disappointed, felt disrespected, and would not be back. The original " Ledit" was a staple for the Ethiopian community in Clarkston no matter where you originated from or was born, but I cannot say that is the same for this new location and owners . So getting to the point would I recommend this restaurant? , only if you are from Ethiopia or Ethiopian descent. You may enjoy it and make it different service that I was not able to experience. If you are a lover of the Ethiopian culture and cuisine but are not Ethiopian. You may get the same experience that I had.. the service that I received was mediocre from the service because she chose not to ask if it was our first time and she did not pay attention to me. Explain it to her that I understood the food in the culture authentic cuisine... the food that I receive was awful compared to what I know this restaurant name produces, the ambience the restaurant was beautiful. I love the new location itself, but I disagree with the handling of customers as they enter the restaurant.. a tip for the new owners, welcome all guests in your restaurant! Get to know them find out what they know so that you can offer them the best dinning experience That originally, my family and I fell in love with at the old location. . So after we noticed what was happening to us, I didn't pick up a fuss or fight. I asked the waitress for my check .I allowed my son to eat his fish and we paid FULL price and lift.
