The prices were on point for the serving size. Our plates was full of food. The service was good, I never ran out of water, chips, or salsa. The ambience is what you would expect out of a Mexican restaurant. I would definitely return.

7.11.23Our visit here tonight was only because Rancho Grande did not have power. Apparently we were not the only ones there because of Rancho's. The place was packed. Today the service was not good at all. I mean terrible at best and it was not because of they were so busy either. Our waitress took our drink order (waters) and asked about appetizers(we did not order any). She took our order, brought it out and she was done with us. Never to visit our table again. The nice lady who services the chips, salsa and waters came back several times. Our waitress was helping the other customers that were ordering cocktails and appetizers. The food here is very inconsistent. Good sometimes mediocre other times. But at least last night they did not have to make my meal 3 different times to get it right. (But they got my husband's order wrong-he ate his anyway since our waitress never came back) (smh) Our waitress did not even bring our check to us. He just had to go pay without it. After todays visit we have decided to take them out of our "out to eat" rotation.

Good as far as small town mexican food goes! Our margaritas were good and both pretty unique. The food was decent and the tortillas were fresh and delicious! They were fairly busy and service was good, but we had a tough time having a few different servers and asking the wrong person for the wrong things...

We visited on a Monday night. The place was pretty busy, but no wait and not overly crowded. We were greeted and shown to our table right away. The best part of our experience here was the chips, salsa and food. Talk about, YUM! The chips looked thick, but they were perfectly thin and warm. We were given green and red salsa, which most restaurants don't do anymore. They were both delicious!Drinks....I was disappointed by getting my wine in a beer mug. But I got over it. We both got the Tacos al Carbon and it was delicious! The tacos were a nice size and filled with meat. The guacamole looked a tad brown, but it was still good. The charro beans were very good. I ordered soppapillas to go. I was disappointed that they were so small and covered in cinnamon sugar. But whatever honey sauce that comes with them.... is out of this world! We will visit this place again.

They lost our business forever! We waited a while to be seated. While waiting, we asked the hostess if it was okay to go next door and order a pizza for the kids while my wife and I would be the ones eating Mexican food. Since BOTH the Mexican restaurant and pizza place are owned by the same person, the hostess said, "That's fine." We have done this many times, as we are repeat customers and have spent a lot of money in his restaurants. It was actually his own employees who told us we could bring pizza from their other restaurant, since the kids don't like the pizza from the Mexican restaurant. As we were sitting down, we were drinking margaritas and eating chips, waiting for the server to take our order. The owner came in between us and talked to us in Spanish, assuming that we spoke it. He said, "No quiero ser grosero, pero si van a comer aquí, necesitan ordenar más de un plato." In English, this translates to, "I don't want to be rude, but if you're going to eat here, you need to order more than one dish."My wife and I looked at each other, confused because we hadn't ordered food yet. We had only ordered two margaritas at that point, since we were waiting for the waiter. We told the owner that, and he said okay. He walked away without an explanation. We were confused about why he singled us out and we felt very disrespected by his words. We asked the server if their rules had changed about buying pizza next door, and he said, "No, you can bring the pizza. I just had a family do the same thing on this side of the room."We asked to speak to the owner several times. We felt very uncomfortable with what he had told us. His employees were also staring at us while we were trying to enjoy our dinner. It was not a pleasant time. He didn't come until we were getting ready to go. He was not busy, and walking around the restaurant, but was trying to avoid us. By this time, all of the tables around us were empty. When finally came, we asked him why he had told us that we should be buying more food when we hadn't even ordered? He confirmed that he owned both restaurants, but said that "The health department changed their rules and told us we can no longer have customers bring pizza from my other restaurant to this one." We asked him, "Why didn't you tell us that when you came up to us? Instead you were very rude and assumed we weren't ordering more food."If he would have told us that from the beginning, then we wouldn't do it again. We also explained that his server and host both told us that day that we were allowed to bring pizza over that same day. We also informed him that our server said that another family had just brought pizza from next door. We asked him if he had told them what he told us? He stayed quiet as he obviously had not. He was very mad at this point because we called him out on the way he treated us. We expressed our disappointment about the way he spoke to us, and his approach because he was disrespectful. We told him that if that's a rule he is implementing that he needs to apply that a rule to everyone and not just the Hispanic families. His response was that we shouldn't eat there anymore if we didn't like it.It is sad that a restaurant owner would act this way. It's not like we brought pizza over from Domino's, and ordered nothing from his other establishment. The pizza was from his other restaurant next door, we had ordered drinks, and were about to order food. We had even gotten it pre-approved by his employees beforehand. The truth of the matter is that he did not want us there because of who we were. It is extremely disappointing when people of our own race who feel they "made it" in this country feel like they need to belittle others of their own kind. He made so many assumptions and judged us without knowing who we were. He thought he was going to push us around. Little did he know that we are educated and respected people in our community. We will not support a business that has a disrespectful owner who is not willing to talk and listen to others!

This is a truly exceptional Mexican place. Look at those salsa's! The creamy guacamole verde is unique. The rojo is equally thick with a tang of fresh tomato and slightly less spice. Chips are freshly made in house. Ubique cocktails. Excellent beer selection. Great decor. Top notch service. House plate a great deal at 12.95. Taco Tuesday.

Wow. This was the worst Mexican food ever. Like ever. Salsa is tomato paste, chips were hard and tasted like old oil... queso, bean's, and guacamole were gloopy, old, and gelatinous. We had to get up and leave our food it was so off putting and disgusting. I cannot express how horrific it was. Shame on you for serving this old crap to customers.

Why 4 stars? Because the food was okay, but the playground was great. --- --- ---My wife found La Fuentes because she saw photos of the playground. We have a 4 year old who would spend 27 hours a day on playgrounds if he could. And I have a wife who would eat Mexican food 27 meals a week if she could, so this was really a match made in heaven.Reading through the reviews ahead of time, I anticipated that the food would be just okay, but the playground would be great for our son. And as it turns out, that is exactly what ended up being the case. We've eaten at a ridiculous number of different Tex-Mex restaurants in the area and if we're going purely off the food, I would put La Fuentes lower on the list. It was fine, but just not a place we'd be rushing back to. We shared a giant plate of fajitas for 3 and they were fine. The chips and queso was below average. The one real standout was the stuffed avocados. I saw that they were a highlight and couldn't resist trying them. Avocado, cheese and beef? Sign me up anytime. These were great. We had a few different weird issues with our server(s). I say that plurally because we had a man and a woman that were kind of co-serving. It was awkward though because they were holding hands at one point. And then later, my wife saw them in the back having a passionate discussion about something. We had multiple instances where we'd have to ask for things 3 times, which is never ideal. The playground, however, was definitely a huge hit. It was probably even better than I anticipated from the photos. We were situated in the room right next to it, and the way it was all set up, we could watch our son play from the table. There were also TVs with security cameras of the playground, which made it easy to never lose sight of him.So that was our experience: 5-star playground, 3-star food/service. We will probably be back again at some point, but I'd recommend other places if you don't have kids.

I must change my review for this one e.....Not sure what has happened to this restaurant. We had been going there for years. Last time we were there the food was horrible and they clean the restaurant with an over abundance of Fabuloso to where I could swear I tasted in my food and margarita Now I've seen a recent post in another social media outlet that they saw a huge Rat near their booth! Nope! Can't bring myself to go back. Sad though. It used to be my place in town.

We ate here with a large party on Thursday. We found a maggot of some sort inside a pineapple margarita drink and all of our children and some adults from the party have been extremely ill for the last 5 days. Our doctor said its not a stomach bug but something in the establishment. I called the manager to inform her of our experience and she did not apologize even once. She states that they can't control what is inside the fruit and they do their best to keep it clean in the common areas. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.
