Service is always great. We have been customers for dinner time, so not 100% sure about lunch. They have standard Tex/Mex faire with chips and salsa that's very good, but the mole is what keeps me coming back. To. Die. For.

BAMBOOZLED!I fell for the 4 star reviews on Google over the 3 star reviews on Yelp. Writing this review as I wait on the check. Came in a little after 7AM. They serve drinks and entire menu from that time surprisingly. Food and drinks aren't great. Ordered strawberry mango margarita. Tasted like a medicinal slushy from a machine not homemade/blended fresh. Also seemed strawberry margarita no mango. Ordered a chicharrón taco on flour tortilla. Trash. It is stewed chicharrón, the fatty pieces, served soft not fried. The beef tamale was cold. I took one bite and that was it. The gravy that accompanied the tamale was useless and bland also. The birria quesadillas were trash. The consomé don't even bother. Beef is the meat option. The rice was bland and flavorless. I mean I know it's Bay City and the options are lacking but this is definitely NOT the spot for Mexican food. The only thing I partially enjoyed and ate completely was the tortilla chips and queso. Wish I ordered ground beef with the small queso but it was the best thing I ordered of everything I reviewed. The tortilla chips were thin and home made. Very good. The queso congeals and becomes thick when cold.Food was cheap but I would have been even more disappointed if it was pricier. $34 and change with tax for everything seen in the picture. One waitress For the entire floor. So you can imagine the speed of the service.

Chips are just okay and red salsa is boring but the beans and rice were outstanding as were my pastor tacos.

Taco Bell is more of a Mexican Cuisine than this place. Extremely racist wait staff. Really crappy bar. Food is almost as horrible as the service. BUT if you are looking to get food poisoning then this place is the place to go to!

Ok, if you read this review I ask you to look at some of my past post I believe I am fair and truthful in order that people can make an educated assessment whether they should go to a business to turn over their hard earned cash for the services offered. I have been to Fuentes at least 5 times and the best meal I have enjoyed 3 times is the menudo. The young ladies that have taken my orders to go are very nice and professional. You will know them by their multi-colored hair and beautiful jade necklaces. Yet the person I believe to be the owner of the restaurant is in her late fifties and quite vile. I went in on 7/6/21 to order to go and was greeted with a negative mean bark of "what do you want?" Normally I would walk right out but I wanted some barbacoa tacos, carne guisada, and yes menudo. I asked for two carne guisada, one bean/ cheese, and a barbacoa I did not even get to the menudo when the nasty owner said " ok is that guisada or asada?" Ok fair enough I had a five ply mask on because I have strep throat and did not want to spread it. So, pull the mask away from my face to clarify my order. Then she proceeds "and two barbacoa what else?" At this point I fling the menu off to the right on the pile of other menu's turn around and walk out. I am Mexican and have never been spoken to like this by a fellow Mexican in any establishment but, for some reason this person felt it was ok to talk to me this way. Its your money, personally, I would go to Fernandez down the road. I did call her a witch with a B but replaced it with person because of her daughters. There is no good reason to speak to your customers this way. Consider yourself warned.

Come here early morning after work. Seems like the hostess are wide awake and ready to serve, so I don't feel like they are just getting out of bed and going through the early morning motions. Being from San Diego and here in bay city for work it kinda nice to have some Mexican food that's comparable to back home.HORCHATA DRANK!

Had some friends visit us from out of town...food did not disappoint ( steak and shrimp)... wait staff had their hands full but treated us great with an extra order of their handmade tortillas. If your looking for Party time nonsense... this is not it... this is where grownups go to talk and share good times with good food.

I've been here before and had some great coffee with breakfast and some flautas that were pretty good. Today, we were disappointed. I had a small caldo de pollo and it was ok. The rice was pretty bland even though it had a good restaurant-rice color. The chicken soup broth was good but the bowl was small and the potatoes weren't fully cooked. Good thing I have good teeth! Lol I can get a tortilla soup of the same size as this chicjenin another restaurant for less than $4 and this one was $8.99. I got one small leg, with less meat than the tortilla soup has. The lime slices were hard and had no juice. My husband had menudo and the hominy was a bit undercooked and it had a weird flavor, he said too much salt but I tasted something different, some added ingredient. Who knows? The best thing about our meal were the homemade corn tortillas. I don't think we will be back anytime soon. We also had to wait to get a coffee refill. Lesson learned.

Passing thru the city of Bay City we came across this little Mexican restaurant. I love to try new places especially smaller businesses . Went at 9 am for breakfast, family of 4, breakfast menu was given, now once looking over the menu it's ALL BREAKFAST items, we all ordered, eat and when it came to pay we looked to see why our bill is a little higher than we were doing our math in our heads before we checked out. Well they had on the menu , fajita taco $2.99 , but we were charged $6.25 . Ok one would say oh sorry I'll fix that and change it to the correct charge, NOPE , the waitress and cashier told us no sorry prices how gone up. Well then why not change the menu price on the menus then!! Bad customer service and do not get doped from this place , ask for prices before you order , it might not be the right price on the menu because prices have gone up, screw what the menu advertises
