Las Flores

If you're passing through and you want what may be the best Tex-Mex in Alvin, Las Flores is your spot. It's definitely on the Tex side, but only in the sense that there's a ton of grilled beef, cheese and guacamole on the menu. The underlying Mexican flavors aren't watered down at all and you can order around the beef and cheese if you prefer (though, go for it!).It's hard to name any particular standout dishes, because everything is good, starting with the salsa, which is tomato-ey and fresh, but has a good solid kick. Probably too spicy for the endless out-of-state transplants, but native Texans shouldn't have any issues.I tend to order the simple things and the comfort foods, so I can recommend the tacos al carbon and the nachos and queso if you're looking for some Tex-Mex basics, as well as the cheese enchiladas. They're all done perfectly. Tamales are solid as is the meaty sauce served with them. There's really not a ton to write. If you're looking for bold culinary choices to brag to your friends about, this isn't the place, but if you're looking for excellent, authentic Tex-Mex like you grew up on or like you've heard about coming from elsewhere, this is it. Can't recommend it enough for people who love authentic Tex-Mex. Service is friendly, portions are perfect, the flavors are classic across the board and it's centrally located in bustling downtown Alvin!Seriously, if you're looking for classic, really well done Tex-Mex, give it a shot. That's what it is, and it's very, very good at being exactly that.

Super clean, well spaced out due to the pandemic. You feel safe and all staff have masks. Limited menu but still plenty to choose from. Tortilla chips are light and crispy and very fresh and served with a tasty salsa with a gentle kick.Food came out very fast and piping hot and did not disappoint, the fajita Enceladus I had were delicious with lot of gooey cheese goodness and the refried beans and rice also yummy. For two people with two plates it came to $20 which was great value, would easily pay more!I left stuffed and satisfied, good stuff!!

First time here. Very impressed with food and service. NOT a fancy atmosphere...and the price(s) is right as well! We'll be back although we live 35 miles away!

This use to be my favorite Mexican place in Alvin but something has changed more recently. You have to judge every place on their chips and salsa and while their chips are still good, their salsa has now failed. The red sauce is bland up front and spicy in the back and the green sauce taste like lettuce. The enchilada sauce is still enjoyable but the enchiladas them self were boring. Cheese was barely melted and the tortilla seemed like it wasn't warmed other than pouring the sauce over it. The beef they use in the fajitas are still good so stick with those.

Hands down one of the best Tex-mex restaurants I've had yet! Usually not a fan of tamales at restaurants cause they are usually horrible. But this was by far one of the most flavorful tamales I've had! All the food my family had was very flavorful and the staff was very friendly. Would defiantly recommend to everyone and will now be regulars!

Best servers in all of Alvin!!!!! They are always on the move and ready to help you and get you what you need. The chips and salsa are amazing, the soda is carbonated perfectly, and the cheese enchiladas are to die for. This is the only place i will come for enchiladas!! I have to give Las Flores 10/5 stars. We come frequently and have never been disappointed.

All of the dishes we ordered looked and tasted good. They advertised a Taco Tuesday. The service was prompt, polite and we enjoyed seeing local faces dining at other tables. The ambiance is casual with with fair prices.

Great food and friendly staff. The chicken enchiladas with sour cream sauce were delicious!!

This restaurant has been around at least 26 yrs. The food is excellent. Always friendly fast service too. There is a great feel when you dine. Also you've got to try the Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas!! My son (who is now 27) started out on rice and beans then graduated to chilada rice and beans. Our whole family loves this restaurant!

Ordered dinner through Door Dash the other night and was very disappointed. I had ordered a Ceasar salad with steak and that was not what I received. What I ended up with was a container with iceberg lettuce and grilled steak only. No romaine lettuce, dressing, croutons or cheese. This was not a Ceasar salad. Also ordered a strawberry cheesecake and what I got was a slice of cake with little strawberry flavored syrup and no strawberries. I called to complain and was told there was no manager there to help me and they were fixing to close. I was told that someone would contact me the following day and I never received a call. I am very disappointed in the food and nonservice. I will not be eating from this restaurant again. Not quality food or service.
