La Taverna Calle 8

We were walking by and noticed this spot because we just wanted to sit down and have a drink. We had a great spot outside by the sidewalk so we could watch the people and cars etc. We enjoyed some good wine and small plates and it was amazing. The best part was the conversation with a young man named Daniel. He was very attentive and genuine. Because he spent much of his time garnering the attention of people as they walked by, he was next to us so we had time to have great conversation with him. To top it off, Alex (I believe he was the owner but not sure) was very welcoming and friendly. The whole experience was nothing less than great. I would recommend this spot for anyone!

For a long time, I have been saying that Little Havana is not what it use to be - but for all the right reasons and in the best imaginable way! This little gem of a place is a prime example of that! Just a few shorts steps away from the Tower Theatre, La Taverna Ocho offers up delicious food, a variety of wines, and GORGEOUS ARTWORK! This small, intimate, little place is big on ambiance and culture. We were lucky enough to be served by one of the artists himself - Alejandro Amador. In addition to the excellent service that he provided, he went into great detail explaining his paintings, the work that goes into it, and the creative process that it entails. If you are looking for delicious food (Spanish - lost of wonderful tapas like their Pan con Tomate and Jamon Iberico), something delicious to drink (they have Happy Hour until 7pm), and beautiful artwork enhancing your enjoyment of this adorable little place, then you MUST give it a try!

I can't believe I had the whole restaurant to myself. The food was delicious - I had a sandwich which was served open-faced with potato chips, on a rooster-shaped wooden board. The restaurant is lovely - beautiful glasses and dishes decorate the tables. Service was polite, timely and perfectly paced. The beer was ice cold and served w lime slices on a beautiful little China saucer. I would recommend this restaurant!

Got the sangria wine it was okay, I've had better ones. We got the tabla mix, the meats were good not enough cheese on the tabla. Not worth the money for that amount of cheese and meat honestly. 5/10 experience

Venimos a caminar a la pequeña Havana el día de thanksgiving y nos encontramos con este restaurant. Muy buena comida y ambiente muy amigable. Pedimos el mixed table board y un par de vinos. Nos quedamos más tiempo por la buena música y el simpático chef/mecero.

We have come to this place several times and we have never been disappointed. The tapas are made on the spot and delicious. We have had the octopus, calamari and shrimp tapas.... super yummy. The house wine is really good and at a decent price. The owner is super fun and welcoming. The staff is friendly and accommodating.

The service was excellent. The waitress greeted us with a smile and fresh water. She came with some small samples of pumpkin cream soup. The ambiance is fresh and trendy. They have the cutest details. Our table had cigar boxes under the glass. Wipes for your hands came in a cute box. When in Calle 8, I recommend this home cooked tasting restaurant. The drinks were excellent by the way. 5 star quality place for me. Clean, delicious and very good service

Food was amazing and drinks were incredible, service was good and prices are very reasonable. I will come back next time I'm on vacation.

Exceptionally great service! Came in right before closing for a night cap and they let me sit at the bar since there was a late birthday party. The bartender poured me a fantastic gin & tonic and made a beautiful espresso martini for one of the party members. Will have to come back for the food!

Can't say enough great things of this restaurant!!! Our server Luis was AMAZING, such a great vibe from him!!! And the food was equally as impressive, I recommend this place to all people!!!
