La Tapatia - Sugar Land

The food was OK. There was nothing awful and nothing overly special. Pretty normal for general Tex-Mex. The service was very good and the food came very quickly. The ambience was nice as well.

Cute place with good sized servings and good prices. They started off with chips and two types of salsa. I preferred the green, but both were rather average. The taco plate was filling including the charro beans (not pictured), but the quality of the food was average. My mom ordered the ceviche which was much larger than other places I've seen her order it. My dad has a combo plate. He seemed satisfied with it. Overall the prices are a bit lower than similar places, probably 10-20% less, and while you get the same amount of food and better service, the food isn't quite as good.

The serving of fajita meat for their tacos was just sprinkled and not that of the cost of the plate. Service was not there. Was giving plate of main dish and the waiter didn't even bother to refill my drink until I was on my second bite and had to ask another waiter to give me a refill this continued until I finished. Never again.

I tried La Tapatia for the first time and I am so glad that I did. Their lunch specials are great and I got the fish tacos with corn tortilla. I am usually picky about the fish in my fish tacos but this one was exactly what I had imagined and wanted in my head. The chipotle sauce was also amazing with it! The meal came with Spanish rice and pico de gallo on the side as well as chips and red and green salsa. The taste and amount was just right-- would definitely come back again soon!I also definitely recommend checking in whenever you go because they have a free chile con queso if you check in on Yelp!

This was a good find! The guy who brought our chips was so friendly. Our waiter was fast and kept drinks filled. The green sauce had a wonderful lime taste to it and the chips were thin and crispy. I had the quesadillas pastor. The tortillas are homemade and were really good. The meat was seasoned well. The charro beans weren't amazing but they were good. The kid's enchiladas were a good size and my daughter loved them.

I came here for my cousins birthday with about 15-18 people and we were all very happy with our food selection and the service of the employees. It's kind of them to provide complimentary nachos and dipping sauces while you wait for your food. I ordered the street tacos and it's pretty high up there on my list of best tacos. I didn't think I'd be as happy with my choice but towards the end I was secretly hoping I'd have more room to order more--but 4 ended up being just enough for me. The meat was the highlight. Super juicy, well marinated, and wasn't too juicy or over cooked. I would definitely recommend adding avocado, cilantro, and onions.

Note - this review is for takeout only, since we haven't actually eaten in the restaurant itself. We've called to order a few times and the experience is about as good as you can get as far as takeout is concerned. They're really fast at getting the food ready, and the food carries out really well. We've tried their enchiladas (highly recommend) and taco plates (I got the al pastor - super tasty!). They're pretty generous with the free chips/salsa too. Overall, very solid Tex-Mex place, will definitely be ordering from here again.

Tasty food, great service, acceptable prices.We used to visit the location in Montrose and liked it. Now that we moved to Sugar Land we tried this location and it's just as good food and service wise and had a nicer building.We will be back.

Absolutely fantastic event! we had a banquet there on Tuesday the 23rd. It was great. Food was delicious but the service was some of the best ever. Daisy who helped plan the event was a joy to work with. The event space was perfect for our event too. Had plenty of room was totally separate so we did not have to worry about disturbing the other guests and they did not disturb us either. Overall I give them 5 stars for everything , Food, Service, and Ambiance!!

The margarita is outstanding Grill food is always the best and their chips are yammy.
