Some of the BEST pizza in Philly! Been eatting here since high school and sometimes ride back to the city for a few slices. The tomato pie is my favorite but honestly I've tried many different toppings and loved them all. Definitely check them out if you're ever in the south philly area. ....parking sucks in the area but I'm guilty of double parking right out front when I'm just grabbing a few slices lol

Such a friendly small business owner and operator at this classic local restaurant! The service was impeccable! He (owner/operator) even gave me a free item! It is in my pictures with my three slices of pie! The didn't have the tomato pie nor the cheesesteak pie when I visited at the end of the day. I got the sweet peppers pie ( my personal favorite! 10/10 for sure) so flavorful! I also got classic pepperoni which was my second favorite! 9/10 only because the sweet peppers slice was more flavorful and unique. Lastly I got the sausage slice, maybe because it was the last slice I tried and I was already full, it was not as tasty as the other two. It was a tad more cooked resulting in a little drier too. I'm glad I got to taste items from this local gemstone and I most definitely recommend you try it if ever you are in the area! Oh yeah portion wise, one slice is equivalent to two slices of California's pizzas and this place was so incredibly affordable too! I paid $10.50 for three huge slices! Check out my photos too!

I could not wait to sink my teeth into these!!! I had a dentist appt yesterday, and with a good clean bill of teeth health again, I wanted to finally go to La Rosa Pizza. Besides, JL Jupiter featuring them 4 yrs ago and people raving about the white potato pizza, this place has been around South Philly forever. Like childhood forever, and I never been until yesterday. The price for these was mind-blowing in a good way because I was not expecting it. I may just have to come back every 2 wks to get 2 slices of white potato and one plain and sausage. Omg and the bread rolls! For a small was the size of half an oven mitt. Staff was friendly and the white potato they didn't have any, but we're making it off you could wait. It's worth fighting your way through Broad and Snyder.

We've been wanting to try this spot for a while and glad we did. The square pies were great! We got a Philly classic with sausage, onions and peppers and agreed that the taste would be been even better if the toppings were chopped so big. This was our only negative. Other than that, the quality , taste and quick delivery service was perfect for a Friday night take out type of night.

I haven't reviewed this place in 9 years. Time for an update. And I've decided they need more love. Back story... my late Uncle Rich introduced me to this place years ago. I've been back a few times over the years. Always loved it. I just love the flavor and texture here. When I'm in the mood for square pie, this is a favorite. I wish I got down here more often. I should. But the biggest reason I upgraded it to 5 stars is that my 6 year old boy housed an entire slice with pepperoni and asked for seconds. Pic is for proof. He ate more than me. But I blame my weight loss surgery. Still, when I want a good slice I want what i love. And La Rosa is pizza I can crave. 8.4 on the Dave Portnoy scale. It's not Angelo's or Tacconelli's. But it doesn't have to be. And three huge slices, two with toppings for $7.25 is a bargain.

I'm originally from the Jersey Shore (pizza capital of the USA in my opinion) but La Rosa's pizza is probably the most palatable in South Philly! It's generally cut into 6 generous slices and usually takes up prime real estate in my refrigerator for a couple of days afterward! My favorite Philly pizza of all time is Savas in West Philly IMHO but La Rosa does a pretty damn good job. I've never been there in person but whenever I order through DoorDash my pizza arrives hot and fast!

Hits the spot, very rich and hearty American style pizza. It's loaded with cheese and sauce, and the crust isn't too thick or bready. It's crunchy and not tough on the chew. I just didn't like the thick sauce too much, but liked that it was zesty. The mozzarella was a bit much but at least it wasn't greasy.

Ordered delivery tonight. Pizza was supposed to come around 5:50. At 6:15, I called and was told the pizza was on its way. At 6:55, my wife called and was told the pizza was on its way. At 7:00, we received another call. It turned out the order was never made. We asked for a refund. The restaurant promised a refund but then gave a refund in the wrong amount, which forced a call to GrubHub to have the whole issue resolved. I have eaten their pizza before and enjoyed it, but this was just a terrible experience. It is the first time I have ever written a negative review about a restaurant. I don't like to trash anyone, but I don't understand how you can mess up everything this badly.

Outstanding pizza. Sauce is less garlicky and a tad sweeter than I usually like but it stands on its own regardless. The thin crust is perfect, in my opinion. It's not a crispy thin, it has a chewy bite to it. They nail the sauce to cheese ratio and the pepperoni was ample. This place is one of my top 3 favorites in the city for pizza.

Why doesn't La Rosa Pizzeria have 5 out of 5 stars? They are literally the best place to buy Pizza in Philly. The quality is unmatched. The cheese, the sauce, the pepperoni, the bread. Delicious and flavorful with every bite. I'm starting to wonder how much money I've given them throughout the years, surely I'm keeping this place in business with how often I'm ordering
