La Monarca Michoacana

Saw a add for the place on Facebook so I decided to try it out since it is close to my house. My family and I have been here a few times I loved the ice cream. We went in today and my husband and kids started to order their ice creams I didn't know what I wanted yet so I waited for them to finish. When it was my turn I had pointed to the are of the mangonadas I didn't want the mango flavor I wanted the watermelon one but I didn't know how to pronounce it. She stood there so then I pointed again and she said what flavor super rude with a attitude and a look on her face. So I decided to walk out because there was other customers there and I don't want to be rude or cause a scene. It sucks that this happened because I actually liked this place. Unfortunately we won't be going back due to the bad experience we had this time. There was no reason for her to act that way. I simply just couldn't pronounce what I wanted.

I love the boiled corn and the ice cream. My son loves going in there so do I. The pistachio ice cream is really good as well as the mangonada

Hidden gem.. they have a little bit of EVERYTHING! The mangonadas were the best the I've ever tried.

I thought about going to this place for awhile before I actually did. Now I'm upset it took me so long to try it. One of the best ice cream parlors around. Very nice staff, awesome unique flavored ice creams. Low prices too, very good value. They have ice cream by the scoop, ice cream bars of many flavors. Mangonadas, fruit salads, banana splits, milkshakes, etc. Definitely worth stopping by, I know I'll be back soon.

When La Monarca Michoacana ice cream parlor first opened, I told the owner at The Boba Spot next door, "Looks like you have a competition." Since it didn't have a permanent signage on the building, I never came in here. A long time past, I decided to check this place out last week. I heard my favorite Latinx songs by Romeo Santos played from a TV monitor as I walked in. Staff was polite and knowledgeable explaining the flavors I sampled. I was the only customer eating in there. After that, I saw customers flown in constantly.From reading the company website, La Monarca is a family-owned chain restaurant serving homemade ice cream, popsicles and mangonadas in Houston area since 2008. The texture of these ice creams is very unique. It is thick and gooey. I have never tasted anything like this before. They are not super sweet like Baskin-Robins. They don't melt as easily like Marble Slab Creamery.I could taste the quality of fresh ingredients in each flavor I tried. But I can only eat 3 flavors ($4) in one setting. Each time I try something new, I have to Google it. So, I put my finding down here for everyone to salivate. - Ferrero Rocher is a chocolate and hazelnut confection from Italy. The distinct flavor has a big boost for this ice cream.- Gansito is a Mexican snack cake, described as "a strawberry-flavored jelly and crème-filled cake with chocolate-flavored coating, according to Wikipedia. The bits of chocolate and strawberry presence created excitement in my mouth.- Cajata is also called Dulce de Leche aka Mexican Caramel Sauce. To me, it should be super sweet but it's not. Because of the nature of ice cream texture, this is fun to eat it like pulling caramel with the spoon.- Mamey is a starchy fruit. I rarely buy them because too much trouble to get pulp out to enjoy it. When it's in the ice cream form, I love it more than eating the fruit.I am not a fan of popsicles. I hope someone can share their experiences here about other items they serve.

Great ice cream. Great price. Great vibe. I have no complaints. Do yourself a favor and get Cookie Monster and strawberry. Call it a strawberry Cookie Monster or a Elmo Monster.

My whole family loves it here. The place is always so clean. The mangonadas are delicious. They are pre-made but once they prepare them, they are amazing. The ice cream is really good too. Their homemade paletas are awesome. We just went and bought 6 of them. My husband loves the mixed fruit one and I love the mango with chile one. They have a rewards program. Every 5 purchases you get 15% off on your next purchase.
