La Lucha

A couple of friends and I decided to brunch here super last minute and I'm glad we did. We were able to make a reservation the same day and was seated immediately upon arrival. Parking lot is valet only I believe and worked off tips. (Be sure not to park on an unauthorized area/lot as they will tow!). We tried a little bit of everything on the menu and everything was delicious! We started we the charbroiled oysters and shrimp deviled eggs for appetizers and both were delicious! I ordered the crab chowder with fries and was underwhelmed. Or could've used more flavor if you ask me and I'm not sure that I cared to have it with fries. My friend ordered the cornbread with the oysters and omg it was soo good! It was such a unique blend of savory flavor from the oysters mixed with that sweet cornbread that just deserves an award! Not to mention the bell of the ball was the chicken and waffles! Not only was it such a huge portion(you get the whole bird!) it was soooo good. They used some sort of honey glaze on the chicken that was just literally chef's kiss! I would definitely recommend for brunch and maybe even consider coming back for lunch or dinner during the week. Also, can't forget to mention how great the service was. I wish I remember the name of our waiter but she was great! She was knowledgeable about the menu, polite and. Checked on us frequently.

The most impressive part of coming here was the service. It is absolutely A1 service. They are friendly, attentive, and the servers have the greatest suggestions. The food is good and the drinks strong so prepare yourselves. The music is great so it's a cool place to go and enjoy on a rainy Sunday. I would definitely say come hydrated because first margarita in and I felt it! The food was tasty. My friend said the steak was delicious. I had the pork belly tacos with guava sauce and was not disappointed. La Lucha is worth a repeat try!

Heard about this establishment by one of my coworkers and she raved about this place. So I had to give it a try. Came here with my son on a Saturday afternoon. Parking was full but we did the courtesy valet parking. Donation based pay. The food comes out as soon as it's ready and in no particular order. To eat we shared half a dozen oysters, we enjoyed the freshness and the usual parings for the oysters. My son ordered off the brunch menu and got the butter chicken biscuits and I got the crunchy shrimp tacos. The biscuits are made from scratch and the chicken was cooked perfectly, crispy and juicy. My tacos were crunchy with perfect amount of grease, yes the grease was good lol they reminded me of an upscale Jack-n-the box tacos! If you like frozen drinks, I recommend the frozen La Lucha pink margarita with Tajín rim, perfection! Loved the decor and the ranch meets gulf style ambience. Needless to say, I'll be coming back for more!

I've been here a handful of times now and have never had a full "meal" meal. AKA *comes in for happy hour but always end up ordering a bunch of dishes to share*Their happy hour is daily. Just oysters and beer. I love an oyster happy hour. Mm, dill pickle mignonette I like the smaller menu. all of their dishes are yummy, I haven't had anything I didn't like here. I love the ambience of the inside dining room, and outside is a little more fun patio vibe when the weather permits. service is always on par. my current obsession is the soft serve build-your-sundae parking is valet only, complimentary with tips ya know the drill

Still my favorite restaurant in Houston!The food always comes up piping hot and the food is just awesome like that! The favorite is still the fried chicken. And this is the best I've had period! So far unable to find a fried chicken as juicy, moist and delicious as this! We recently tried the pharmacy burger and it was nice! Came out super hot too with steam coming out. I really never had a burger that hot in temperature but I loved it! All burgers should be like this! Flavor was good and I don't usually don't like burgers. The wood roasted oysters are our 2nd favorite! Come and try it if you are in town! You won't be disappointed

We came here to celebrate my birthday with some friends, and we almost didn't come because we were enjoying our time at another bar, and let me say, I am SO SO HAPPY that we did not cancel coming to La Lucha!!!We made a reservations, so when we got there, there was no wait and we were immediately greeted by our server, Chasity. She was so warm and welcoming and asked how we were doing and made some great suggestions for cocktails so we could get the night started. Before I knew it, there were 2 birthday shots of their classic smokey margarita that came out on a plate with birthday candles, for me and my brother (who's birthday it was also)! I was so surprised, as I haven't been to a place before that did birthday shots vs a dessert, which I will always take a birthday shot! The shot of the classic margarita was delicious and smokey just like she described it!Anywho, we all wanted to try a little bit of everything, so we decided that we would order pretty much the whole menu and eat family style. We ordered the scallops, deviled eggs, shrimp tacos, fried shrimp, shrimp and pork dumplings and the whole fried chicken.The one thing that I can say I appreciate the most is that Chasity informed us that items would come out as they are made and ready so that no food would get cold. And I love that this is how they completed service for this occasion. ALL the food came out timed perfectly one after the next, and everything was so hot and so fresh and just absolutely delicious. I don't know what is my favorite of them all but the top three would be scallops, the dumplings and the fried chicken. Honestly they were all amazing! Once we wrapped up eating we decided we would go somewhere for some cheesecake, but Chasity brought us out a small cute bowl of their signature swirl icecream which had a delicious flavor to it, not your average chocolate and vanilla swirl! Needless to say, I will be back because the food and service were oh so yum, great place/atmosphere for date night, a family style dinner, or just girl's night!

The fish was fresh, the oysters fresh, my server was super cool. He recommended drinks based off my whiskey preference and they were amazing. Try the biscuits, you won't be sorry!

Two Couple Date Night on Repeat The Fried Chicken and Watermelon with Mint always steal the show along with the Dumplings. The La Lucha Rita is my preferred cocktail of choice. The servers are always very attentive too.

Let's talk about fried chicken... I am a sucker for some good fried chicken... This fried chicken hit all the levels of goodness... Taste 10/10Seasoning 10/10Crunch 10/10Biscuits and jelly 10/10BroccoliniHad a smokie taste that made it taste way not average 10/10Margarita was made with mezcal, and I added tajin 9/10This meal was great, and the service was 10/10. Highly recommend experiencing La Luca fried chicken if you are a fried chicken enthusiast.
