This place has the best chorizo sausage and corn tortillas. The machacado is also very good.

If you don't know about this hidden treasure--you have been missing out. Everything from the homemade salsa, the Texas plate, the queso, and the traditional Mexican desserts. The place is so clean! And here is the real surprise--they serve sweet tea that is better than bbq joints. This is one of the best Mexican restaurants I have been to.

This is one of the best Tex Mex spots I have eaten at in Texas. I was greeted pleasantly when I arrived, and I was impressed with the variety of choices on the menu. I chose to have the beef enchiladas with queso sauce. The queso was smooth and flavorful, and the enchiladas were very tasty. I especially liked the rice and beans, which were both very flavorful and delicious. The chips that started the meal were hot from the fryer and the salsa was tangy without being too spicy. This is a small restaurant tucked away in a lesser traveled area of town, but the dining room was clean and not cluttered, and they have a patio that seats quite a few people and would be an excellent choice for large groups. The employees were very friendly and polite and I knew before I finished my meal that I would be back. I'm anxious to try their breakfast, as they have both American and Mexican options available. They are only open from 8-2 and they are closed on Wednesdays, so plan accordingly. If you find yourself passing through Wharton this is definitely a hidden gem worth the trip.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Great little find, small local place. Service was excellent. Friendly staff and clean restaurant. Perfect hole in the wall in the middle of a neighborhood. Food... you could tell everything was freshly made to order. Queso and salsa were also freshly made and could tell they didn't come from a can. Great spot!

I really enjoy the breakfast at La Herradura. The breakfast tacos are amazing. I've tried a couple of different breakfast items and everything was great. It's a small family owned business.

I have been to all the Mexican restaurants in Wharton. They have had fresh food every time I go in. I have never felt that the rice was reheated, the lettuce is always fresh, and the flavors are amazing. This is by far my favorite Wharton Mexican restaurant. I have never been disappointed.

The food is freshly made; service good; variety of the menu is amazing. I highly recommend La Herradura for good home cooking.

My husband and I were visiting family in Wharton and were searching for good chorizo breakfast tacos. This place definitely hit the spot! Homemade tortillas and excellent chorizo. Chips and salsa were ok, but the salsa could have been spicier. Altogether, a very good find!
