La Guerrerense was an ice cream shop we stumbled on after we ate dinner in Philly. As soon as we walked in, we noticed how colorful the shop was which was very inviting. They were also playing music which put us in such a good mood. We were able to sample a few ice cream flavors, one being the Oreo which was also tasty, before deciding on the Ferrero which they explained was their chocolate ice cream. The flavors in the Ferrero were absolutely delicious, the chocolate flavor was rich and it was very creamy. The outside sign displays that their ice cream is 100% home made and it definitely tasted like it. All of the ice cream flavors were labeled in Spanish so we had to ask what each flavor was before trying it but I would definitely return to La Guerrerense again for sure.

I was simply amazed with the flavours, and the options they have available here. They have so many things that I had so many questions as to what they were. There were was a very long freezer with what I think was 25 flavours of ice cream, a popsicle freezer loaded with homemade popsicles, which we tried the mango and coconut, and both were so delicious I wanted to fly some home with me. I tried the mango chemo cup, which I can't say fits my taste buds but my family enjoyed most of it. We had to share amongst three of us, but we weren't able to finish it, which made me a little sad to throw it out. It's a good take on sweet and salty, the res sauce was so Tandy and complimented the mangoes and ice cream. It had a stick that was tamarind paste with chemo flavouring on it. The staff were nice mostly. But the girl that served me, asked what I wanted, then pulled out her cell phone and left me when I started talking lol... she came back when she was done her phone call to finish my taking my order... I actually went there twice in the same evening... the First Lady I had she was a superstar, explained everything to me, very patient, and gave me options, which is why we went back to try the second flavour of popsicle. Overall very enjoyable! A must try if you haven't already and they have quality ice cream!

This is my new favorite ice cream place in the Italian Market! We tried their chamoyada and it was excellent (although I have a sensitive stomach, so couldn't finish), and I really enjoyed sampling their ice creams! They're homemade and really flavorful! The ladies who work there are wonderful as well as very helpful. The place is a bit small, but it's an ice cream parlor, and the decor is beautiful. The ice cream prices are great too, $2.50 for one scoop, 3.50 for 2 scoops and so on. That's really great for homemade ice cream that tastes so good. Now, I don't think they have any low sugar or alternatives, but I wouldn't care because it's just THAT worth trying! They also seem to sell other Mexican goods and various desserts as well. I notice they have tons of fresh fruits so they might be able to make fresh fruit smoothies too! This is definitely a place to head to during warm weather.

Don't be fooled by the unassuming facade - this is some of the best, creamiest, small batch ice cream I've ever tasted. I love the Mexican flavors - piñon and papaya are my absolute favorite combo! This became my summer pandemic comfort spot.

I tried La Guerrerense the first time I visited Philadelphia after buying some fruit at the 9th street market. This little hole in the wall ice cream parlor is literally insane. The ice cream is so fresh that it makes the blandest flavors to die for. Still my favorite ice cream in Philly and will continue to be. Give it a try!!

Amazing ice cream shop right across the street from south Philly barbacoa. Ice cream is made fresh and is very creamy/stretchy. Huge variety of flavors and prices are great for high quality ice cream. Will highly recommend! Credit cards accepted here too
