Superb Italian food with service to match. I had the seafood risotto with marinara sauce and it was not only picture perfect to look at, but some of the best risotto I've ever had. Highly recommend

This place was just awful. We were larger party and they put us in the basement, having to walk past the dirty underbelly of this place. There were random holes in the ceiling and we joked that they had a gopher problem. The health department needs to inspect this place.Anyway, the servers were ok, but the food was atrocious. We started with a fried mozzarella special, which wasn't cooked enough and was luke warm and rubbery. My $36 branzino was clearly frozen and had a mushy texture, with the accompanying wine/lemon/caper sauce being way too acidic. My husband had the veal parm, which he said was awful and still cold in the middle. The food took more than an hour to get there, and three people had to ask the server three times for their iced tea.... Which comically came as we were paying the check (with 20% gratuity already added).Just stay away... Even if there weren't tons and tons of better Italian BYOs in Philly, I'd rather stay home than come to this place again.

I was surprised to see I had been here years ago when looking at places to eat in Philly. I decided to give them a second chance and I was happy I did. Delicious food, nice place and we all enjoyed our dinner. Service was good. Was a nice quiet night out. First night out of our vacation and probably the best meal I had while in Philly.

I went to La Fontana with co-workers for a holiday lunch. The restaurant was nicely decorated, but service was very slow at first which had me worried. We did get a bread basket, and this bread was very basic and the oil had no flavor. Things were not off to a good start. We ordered calamari to share. The calamari arrived very lightly friend, so I was thinking they might be undercooked. Boy was I wrong. The calamari was perfect. Probably the best plate of calamari I ever tasted. I could have eaten it all on my own, but since I was with a group I unfortunately had to share. Thankfully the waitress started to perk up when she took our food orders. I ordered the lobster ravioli special she described. It was lobster ravioli with spinach and scallops. Things were really looking up so I was now excited when my meal arrived. The lobster ravioli was delicious. It needed more lobster stuffed inside the ravioli to be perfect, but if I was by myself I would have licked that plate clean. La Fontana came back strong after a weak start, and we ended up having a good holiday lunch there.

First of all, the service was amazing! Everyone was very attentive and friendly, we were sitting outside so it can be hard to check up on us but they make sure to get us everything in one trip. The food was really delicious, I especially love the Pollo Fantasia, I would definitely back again to try different dishes!

we are asian and they let wait us for 30 min and they let us to sit table outside in winter season. there is no other people eat outside. when we ordered the dishes took another 30 min and the taste is bland and no special. calamari is appetizers and came out with pasta time and asked for sauce. calamari is not crispy. she never came back they automatically charged 20% tip. not worth and felt like discrimination. overpriced freezing terrible

This was the worst Italian food we've had in Philly. Yes, it was delivered, but that can't explain the fettuccine Alfredo. We thought when first seeing it... perhaps it was undersauced? But the sauce seemed to be broken. And then it just looked like pasta with butter? But didn't taste *that* good. Pasta with olive oil? Whatever it was, Yuck. Chicken Parm was edible, but not enough sauce & also bland. One extra star because they did accommodate our request to add chicken to the Alfredo. (High cost, though, for little, dry chicken with no flavor.)My partner hates it when I write negative reviews, but asked me to write this one. Just incredibly disappointing.

Food was delicious. We each had a different veal dish. And an order of spinach on the side. We sat outside on the sidewalk on the pleasant summer night. The Italian music playing softly throughout our dinner made for great ambiance. For dessert, they were out of tiramisu, so we got the peanut butter and chocolate ice cream bomba. It was terrific. Be forewarned. They have no alcohol. So if you want wine with your dinner, BYOB.

This is my twenty five dollar chicken parm dinner. I am not pleased. I'd like the owners of this business to please justify to my exactly how much it costs to prepare this dish and why they are charging $25.I would've expected that if it was going to be so expensive, at least my tiny portion of chicken parm would taste good. The chicken is like rubber! I've had better frozen chicken. The cheese is flavorless goo, and the pasta is mush surrounded by some sort of canned tomato product. I saw my food sitting in the container near the door, and as I stood waiting five full minutes before someone came out to help me, I considered stealing it and truly regret that decision
