La Cocina Mexican Restaurant - Smithfield

Another local spot for some good mexican eats !!The staff and service are awesome and price point is on point !!!Food is delicious and huge portions unlike other places. The Birria tacos are delicious but wish it came standard with the consume which most places do .. they were able to make it happen and it should be a standard to serve it with the birria tacos. Other than that ... everything was delicious and great

Tried to order a mojarrra and they were clearing out the fryer at 5 pmin a sunday, no manager approached they just don't care, really crappy service, ended up not eating anything

The staff were great, very friendly and welcoming. The salsa was the best thing we had. We ordered 5 meals and each one was terrible. 2 meals had way too much salt that the food wasn't touched after a few bites. Definitely not going back

The ambiance in here was really nice, it felt very homey and the service was really nice. Our waiter took our order very quickly and our food and drinks came out fast. The only problem I had here was the food itself. I ordered the Yolandas (3 chicken enchiladas) and it was just okay. The chicken was so incredibly dry that it almost made it inedible, which is weird since the enchiladas were covered in sauce. The rest of the dish was just okay as well. I probably won't be returning here since there are much better choices for Mexican restaurants in this area.

The queso, red sauce and the salsa and chips were very good. It is the only reason for the second star. On a long drive and had to stop for the night. At 9:30, this was the only non-fast food place open that also wasn't Waffle House. But it had good reviews. Ordered chips and salsa and queso and a chicken burrito. As I said, the appetizer was good. But my burrito was literally half a dozen or so pieces of chicken in a tortilla. Literally nothing else. No lettuce rice cheese beans or anything. I refuse to believe that an authentic Mexican burrito is just the meat and tortilla. I get that 99.9% of the Mexican we order in the states isn't authentic but in all of the places I have been that advertised authentic Mexican cuisine, the burrito had fillings. This was pathetic.

Service was fast and friendly. The food was excellent, we had the fajitas for two and it could have been fajitas for four! The portion was huge, warm and delicious. We both had margaritas and they were very good.

Busy most of the time but great food and service is always super nice! I prefer this Mexican place rather than others I've been to.

We got seated very quickly. Our server was great. Once he put our order in it seemed like we blinked and our food was at the table. The food was delicious and nice and hot. Will definitely come back.

I ordered the Polo Chipotle and the chicken was dry and lukewarm, the flavor was not good and it was obviously not freshly cooked but in a bucket for who knows how long before it gets ordered. I actually got sick within an hour after I ate it. the service was average. Chips and salsa, as well as the drink were very good.

Food was very good! Had chicken, rice, peppers and onions. Was fresh and delicious. Had a small margarita and it was super strong :). Service was fast and friendly. Food was inexpensive. Would definitely come back if in area again.
