I love this place. Authentic, plentiful, and friendly. I order 100 empanadas to go for parties sometimes. A big hit..Dining in is a wonderful cultural mix of Colombian sounds and smells, and a diverse mix of patrons that know and appreciate that quality and value seldom exist on the same plate.Highly recommend.

Popped in for Sunday lunch. Decor was a simple with plentiful table and chair seating. Initial contact from the server was prompt. The menu being in both English and Spanish was helpful, as most of the servers spoke Spanish. The coffee was good and the pineapple juice was fresh. As appetizers we ordered empanadas, wings, and fries. The empanadas were flavorful with the right amount of crisp. The wings and fries were a bit below average. As entrees we ordered beans, filed fish, whole fish, rice, tostones, and salad. The beans were red beans... Not bad at all. Everything else teetered the line between ok and below average. The servers were nice but not attentive... we struggled to get their attention to ask for the check. The portion size was plentiful and the prices were ridiculously reasonable. Overall an easy going atmosphere, but I unfortunately do not recommend.

This place is fantastic. It's a hole in the wall Colombian place with big portions that are also delicious. Stop by for their weekday lunch specials and you will not be disappointed. This was our first time trying Colombian sit down meals and we loved it. The decor is as festive as it gets for Buford hwy. almost all servers speak Spanish a big shout out to ours for accommodating our lack of language skills as we all spoke only English. But she made it work and made some great suggestions. The fish platter is a steal for 10$ lunch special !!

I rarely order Colombian food and after trying this restaurant I'll make it a point to do so more often. We got a takeout but the dining room is decent especially so because the place looks like an absolute hole in a wall. Our takeout consisted of grilled beef tongue, grilled beef liver, mini paisa, and shrimp arepa. My favorite was the tongue - amazing! So juicy and tender! Liver was very thinly cut and very dry as a result.Arepa was OK. It was my first time trying it and I wasn't a fan of that style of corn "tortilla".All meals came with plantains and a salad.Ordering over the phone was very challenging. They don't speak English and I don't speak Spanish so it was pretty much shooting in the dark.I would definitely come back for the grilled tongue though!

The most authentic Colombian Restaurant in the Atlanta area- no question. My parents are Colombian so I've grown up with the food and flavors all my life and this is by far the closest it gets to a home cooked meal for me. I've been coming here for YEARS and it's consistently delicious. Here's what to expect and my recommendations:Los Guidrys Thoughts and Recommendations:- Come on the weekends if you can! Most Colombians restaurants will have special items on the menu that you can only order on the weekends or Sunday and those are usually the best. The Sancocho de Gallina or de Res are my go-to's if I'm here on a Sunday. My mom loves getting el Mondogo or Ajiaco (We love good hearty soups)- If you're not a soup person like us or just didn't come here on the weekend, you can't go wrong with the Bandeja Paisa. Now, for a first timer this dish can be overwhelming because it comes with so much food! Just be prepared to either be super stuffed or asking for a to-go box. They do have a "Mini Bandeja Paisa" but there's nothing mini about it. Still a lot of food! I also love getting an Arepa with toppings. You can't go wrong with an Arepa Mixta where you can choose 3 toppings. I recommend getting the chicken, shredded beef and sausage.- Natural juices! My favorites are the Lulo and the Maracuya and I always get them in water ( milk is the alternative but that's too heavy for me). - The service is great every time! I don't think I've ever had a bad service experience here. Maybe a long wait to get my food on a busy day but that's it.There's always room for improvement in my opinion but I'm not sure how feasible it actually is 1) Parking can be a struggle. There's a small lot and the spaces are tight. You have to be very careful not to hit another parked car. 2) Dated interior and exterior. After so many years I think it's fair to say La Casona needs a little refresh. A fresh coat of paint, some modern light fixtures, updated TVs, remove the old news stands that just sit in the front... just to name a few things. Overall, this place will forever be one of my favorites. I highly recommend you coming here for lunch or dinner. Hope this review helps :)

Love this place! We have ordered from La Casona on multiple occasions in the last year and every time, the food has been excellent. I used to go to another nearby Colombian restaurant but after some bad press a few years about workplace abuse, I had to give up on it.La Casona has filled the hole for Colombian food in my heart and belly. The times that I have called, I whip out my useful Hispanophone skills so if you are not fluent in Spanish, be patient and speak slowly. You should be able to figure it out and food will be ready within 10-15 minutes for you to pick up, if you so desire. I am unsure of the dine-in situation and will be avoiding indoor dining through most of this year, even being fully vaccinated. Because variants be puttin' a damper on life, yo.The weekday specials are almost a steal. If you can swing it, check the restaurant's Facebook page for the daily special(s). The portions are always huge and include a juice! Crazy good. The classic bandeja paisa is not to be missed here. This is the barometer with which I measure Colombian places. The carne asada version (versus ground beef) always comes with a huge piece of really tender meat. This can easily serve two adults and it usually goes a bit farther than that in our home. AT has gotten the fried fish lunch special and licks his fingers clean. The rice and beans are excellent and I really enjoy the chicken soup too. We love the maracuyá/passion fruit juice and the pandebono, while not my absolute favorite, satisfies.

Ok I have absolutely have found a new favorite in Doraville!!! The place is quaint and homey. The people friendly and very service oriented but is the food!!!! The food.... omg the food.... simple, traditional and affordable! I just love it when a traditional or typical restaurant sticks to its roots. This restaurant cannot only fit your belly with yummy and delicious columbian dishes but they do at an affortable price!!!! For example...Banuelos y pan de bono $1.50 each and hands down is the BEST PAN DE BONO I have tasted in the area!!!Empanadas res y papa $1.50... great taste and the pique of salsa was on POINT.Pastel de pollo $2.00 tasted very good...savory and crunchy however beware is quite small. The lunch special is only $7.95!!!!!! and for that price you get rice, meat, Beans or a soup with a nice side salad plus a typical exotic drink of ur choice!!!! They also have a very good selection of typical famous in the Licious Colombian desserts. So be sure to bring your entire family because this place makes it so affordable that you are able to feed your family a good typical Columbian meal at a reasonable price.Lunches are 7.95 incluyen ensalada y bebida as well as rice and beans

Went here with the significant other to use my Restaurant.com certificate from 2015. Yeah. It was from that long...We ordered the arepa mixta and typical platter. My choice of the arepa mixta was super filling. They pretty much overload the corn tortilla (?) with the meat choices you choose, up to three. I particularly liked the beef as it has the most flavor. If I could go back, I would choose the avocados subbing either the chicken or sauage so it wouldn't have been so meat filled. The sausage item was a full on sauage, not the chorizo version I thought of.The typical platter comes in two sizes, the small and large. The price difference is only a couple of bucks though. The grilled steak, avocados, and beans were my fav of the significant other's entree. The pork was just too hard and crispy, but they were good reheated the next day. Lol.The staff was nice and checked on us as we were prob one of the few non Hispanic customers so they wanted us to feel comfortable. The restaurant is behind the QT that's right where 285 is.
