I have become somewhat of a regular at La Casita. Hands down, you won't find a better breakfast (or lunch) in the area.Everything -- and I mean everything - is cooked fresh and made to order. My personal favorites are the tortas. My wife and I eat here 4-6 times a week. The number could reach as high as 7 days a week if they were open Sunday's.Two brothers (Marco and Victor) run this restaurant and they both have a passion for quality and delicious taste. My typical order is a breakfast torta with bacon and extra bacon and a fajita torta. My wife and I share both so we get a half of each. Oh my gosh -- the food is so good -- the place never gets old. While it is good to call your order in ahead of time, it's best to eat the food onsite. The meal is hotter, fresher, and tastes even better. That's not to say it won't be good if you take it home. We have about a ten minute drive home -- the food is still hot when we get home.I highly recommend trying this place. You will not be disappointed!5 stars - and since we go there most days of the week, I would definitely try this place again.

I don't normally associate food establishments within gas stations with quality food. This place received a lot of good reviews for its breakfast tacos and burritos, so I thought I would give it a try. I have been here twice now. The first time I came, I got breakfast tacos a la Mexicana and breakfast tacos con chorizo. The second time I just got breakfast tacos a la Mexicana. I bought the breakfast taco platter, which comes with three tacos and a lettuce & tomato side salad. The tacos are absolutely wonderful and filling. Not only is the food great, but they don't skimp on the servings. This is now my go-to place here in Spring for breakfast tacos!

After a friends recommendation I finally tried lunch here.I got 4 corn tacos- al pastor, fajita, asada, and Barbacoa.Oh my goodness! Reminded me of my younger days when I lived in south Houston and found these delicious taco trucks. The meat all tasted great, not overly greasy and no grizzle. Really tender and full of flavor. They top them with onions and cilantro and give you two salsas - red and green. Both salsas added an additional layer of flavor. He fills the tacos to the top, definitely no skimping on the meat. The staff is friendly and food comes out pretty quick. The store has 3 booths if you want to stay and eat. I got mine to go.I'm excited to return for a torta and breakfast.

What a nice surprise. My husband came across some nice reviews of this place - and at first I was skeptical... tacos from a gas station? Ehh... why the hell not! I am so glad we tried it. The tacos are delicious! We ordered the beef fajita, pastor, and chicken tacos and we're extremely impressed. The tacos are $2 each, cooked fresh, and made to order. They are stuffed full if meat - definitely worth the price.I can't wait to try more!

Gas station tacos!!!!! Before you turn your head and say: "umm no thank you"...just try it so far so good nobody I've brought here ever got food poisoning js Besides roughly...8-9 years ago this was a freestanding restaurant but dye to poor location they closed their doors--I know b/c I was a regular and when I realized this was run by the same guy it was like getting a second lease on life--ok ok maybe not but I was very ecstatic Everything is super inexpensive and tastes great! Salad (huge btw with nice bits of bacon and a pile of grilled chicken), burgers (enormous and juicy) , burritos, tacos(pastor is to die for), I never had the breakfast ones or the torta but no doubt they're as good as they look. Food is fresh made to order and it may take **some** time--can't rush perfection...so I highly recommend calling in the order b/c waiting at a gas station with standing room only can be awkward.

We ordered barbacoa tacos and apparently they do not make barbacoa the way i've tried it almost everywhere else. This was more like Birria which is like a slow cooked meat in a chili sauce. We were highly disappointed when we came home and saw what we were given. I think we're officially done with trying this place.

Thanks for the referral Kelley. The best tacos I have had in a long time. I was a little hesitate because it was in a Shell gas station. I had the taco platter. Corn tortillas. One with grilled chicken, barbacoa and pierna de cerdo(roasted pork). The roasted pork was so tender and the barbacoa was the best barbacoa I have tasted. Not fatty meat. Good favor. I was too full to eat the rice and beans. My husband had the carne asada torta. He said it was ok. He said he will try the Cuban torta next time. The Cuban torta is made with the slow cooked pork. Tacos are $2.00 for corn. I like places that serve with two corn tortillas for each taco. That means it won't fall apart when they over stuff it with meat. You just have to get pass the gas station atmosphere.

The food was amazing. 15/10, 5 stars. Everything came out quickly and made right in front of you. Located in a gas station, but there's seating or you can take it to go. Either way it was great.

This little taqueria is inside the Shell station, not to be confused with taqueria Tampico food truck that parks outside the Shell station after 4:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Worry think that's their hours, anyway inside is La Casita and it is pretty dang good for breakfast and probably lunch. I've been there several times and unfortunately it's only been breakfast time. I've had many things from sopapillas to chilaqules to Nopales to a single taco... Everything is fantastic and the portions are big, you would not go away hungry, which should be the goal for anyone who has any type of food establishment. If your gas go away hungry, there's a problem. So check this place out inside the Shell station at the corner of kuykendahl and 2920. And be kind, leave them a tip. These ladies work really hard to provide excellent food at a great affordable price, make note of that and pay it forward.
